Description

Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter2 kills common household bugs such as ants, beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, flies, millipedes, mosquitoes, moths, spiders, stink bugs, ticks, termites, periodical cicadas and more (as listed). This insect killer creates a bug barrier for up to 12 months protection against ants, roaches and spiders indoors on non-porous surfaces. In addition, the Invisi-Shield Technology formula gives off no fumes, dries clear and dries fast. Use this pest control product anytime as a preventative treatment or after you see evidence of insect activity for long lasting-control. Apply indoors in kitchens and bathrooms or around doors and windows, and outdoors to the foundation perimeters, patios, decks, garages and wherever insects are a recurring problem. For indoor surfaces, hold sprayer 12 inches from surface being sprayed and apply a 4-inch wide band, or use a 12-inch wide band when applying to a home perimeter. Ortho Home Defense is a quality affordable pest control option when you’re on a budget (and even when you’re not!) and want to do the job yourself. I have had to reapply it a bit more often than advertised this time around, but this has been an abnormally buggy year, so that may be a contributing factor. Given the quality and price point of this product, I cannot complain! This pesticide kills nearly every insect and creepy crawly imaginable, including flies and spiders, which can sometimes be difficult to get rid of in my experience. It can also be used both indoors and out, which is a huge plus. No need to buy two different products! Ortho Home Defense does it all. Another impressive thing about this product is that it doesn’t feel like I’m getting poisoned along with the intruders I’m trying to get rid of. I am chemical sensitive, and this product has not caused me any issues whatsoever. I’d have the same reaction if I were spraying water! It is reassuring to feel I am using something safe and effective (when used as directed/intended). What’s more is I haven’t noticed any odor or residue from this pesticide whatsoever. I have used it outdoors as well as in the house and garage. Full disclosure: I probably spray it on surfaces I’m not supposed to and I may or may not apply the proper amount at all times…yet I haven’t wrecked or hurt anybody to date. As a home improvement DIY novice, I feel confident using Ortho Home Defense for my pest control needs. It’s affordable, simple, and effective. Excellent for killing bugs! I used it outside my home in the front yard and back. I didn't see the usual flies, mosquitos, ants, spiders and other pesky bugs for at least a couple of years during COVID time. I don't know if COVID had anything to do with it, but there weren't even any bees or wasps around! It was a little eerie, but I sure didn't miss any of those critters! I can't tell you what the effects on people are but maybe the company or some third party scientific study can shed some light on that for us hopefully. ... show more

The price on this product was fair. However, I had a hard time determining if this was a BATTERY operated sprayer. I just received the product and can now verify that this is NOT a battery operated sprayer. The battery operated sprayer makes spraying the product a whole lot easier. I think the product description should be crystal clear and just state that this is is NOT a battery operated sprayer. There were some posts and/or reviews that stated that this Ortho Insect Killer had a battery operated sprayer, but they were NOT correct. Apparently, if you want the battery operated sprayer you have to pay twice as much for the same Ortho product, but the size of the container is a little larger.
