Description
Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter2 kills common household bugs such as ants, beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, flies, millipedes, mosquitoes, moths, spiders, stink bugs, ticks, termites, periodical cicadas and more (as listed). This insect killer creates a bug barrier for up to 12 months protection against ants, roaches and spiders indoors on non-porous surfaces. In addition, the Invisi-Shield Technology formula gives off no fumes, dries clear and dries fast. Use this pest control product anytime as a preventative treatment or after you see evidence of insect activity for long lasting-control. Apply indoors in kitchens and bathrooms or around doors and windows, and outdoors to the foundation perimeters, patios, decks, garages and wherever insects are a recurring problem. For indoor surfaces, hold sprayer 12 inches from surface being sprayed and apply a 4-inch wide band, or use a 12-inch wide band when applying to a home perimeter. Omg I love this stuff. I moved into a new place that’s surrounded by trees. It’s gorgeous, but with that comes big tree roaches. I was getting one coming in on a weekly basis!! Luckily I have cats, so I would only find them once they were dead. But I CANT deal with roaches and they are everywhere in the south, especially as it gets warmer. The first time I sprayed, I didn’t see one for almost 4 weeks. When another one got in, I did a touch up and haven’t seen another one since. Probably best to do maintenance spraying every few months! At least that’s what I’ve decided to do. This stuff has brought me so much peace of mind!! Cause those things are HUGE and I couldn’t continue living like that!

This works! I moved to a new apartment with lots of trees and bushes near my unit. During my first week at the new place, I found at least one spider a day. After I almost walked into a spider hanging from my ceiling one morning, I needed something to repell these house guests. I sprayed once around my front and back doors, just to see if that would help. A week later, the number of encounters with bugs drastically decreased (went from one spider a day to one spider a week!). I will be doing another spray before I leave for a week long trip.

The chemical works great at keeping bugs at bay. The included spray wand will sometimes just not work correctly. I've bought several of these and sometimes the wand is fine for the whole bottle, sometimes it is not.

I started getting ants in the kitchen a couple weeks ago, swarming over the cat food bowls. I tried duct taping the cracks they appeared to emerge from, but to no avail. Since I sprayed this stuff along the offending crevices, I have seen none (alive)! There are a few dead ones near the entry point, which is reassuring, as they didn't even make it to the bowl. I love that it's pet safe once it dries; obviously this one was non-negotiable since the treated area is where my cat eats/drinks. We have a mosquito and spotted lantern fly problem in our backyard, so I'm glad that this *should* work on those pests too (per the manufacturer. We'll see how it goes - I pretreated the outside, and am optimistic now that I've seen it work inside). While the idea of using a strong chemical pesticide initially made me uncomfortable, it didn't have a nasty chemical odor, was easy to use, and seems to work very well indoors.

This product gets the job done in no time. I very much appreciated the ease of using the spray wand. I hate this type of job, but there was no mess and no fumes. I was able to spray into small spaces and behind cabinets, appliances, etc. A little goes a long way. The jug is enough for several applications in an apartment. I imagine it would be sufficient for a 3 br house.

This works really well and the wand makes it really easy to use. You can always get the amount, direction, and focal point of spray controlled and accurate. I didn't notice any stickiness or odor that lasted. Sprayed around all the baseboards in the kitchen and didn't see an ant all season. We don't tend to have many insects around, so can't comment on anything but ants. This is a big bottle so haven't had to order another one but will when the need arises.

So I used this like last week to get rid of spiders by my window. They keep setting up shop there. I went back today and sprayed again, expecting them to be back. Because that’s the usual for when I spray some repellents. After it dries, their webs are back up. But it wasn’t even one spider there. And it was some big ones before(california big. Not Australia). So I didn’t fully spray. Just one area but I quickly realized no spiders so I stopped. So this is a short term review. I’m going to set a reminder in my phone to check it in 3 months. I know it is advertised to last longer. But I want to check it at 3 month intervals, to see if it’s still working. Of course if it rains, the experiment is over lol. So I’ll come back in 3 months for an update. Mid Edit: As of 09/10/23, there’s still no spiders. And there are no huge spiders around where I live. Like a tarantula, wolf, or huntsman. Not that I’ve seen at least. This is a spider repellent review. Not a flamethrower review lol. And it rained from the hurricane/tropical storm that passed recently. I guess it didn’t hit the area directly or it wasn’t enough to wash it away. So that’s good it lasted this long. I’ll come back near the end of October for one final update. But I’m already sold with it lasting over a month. 10/23/23 Final update. Still no spiders outside my window. So it works for at least 3 months, which is good for me. One thing, don’t spray it in high bug areas like outside trash cans. I sprayed my outside trash cans because I don’t like touching spider webs when taking out the trash. Next time I’ll just spray the handles or something. Because there were so many more flies in and around the trash after there were no spiders left around there to catch them. So just be mindful of that. AND, it didn’t repel the flies. So it worked for spiders, not for the house flies. Edit: 05/05/2024 I had no intentions of doing another edit. But I was so impressed I had to. I went out to spray my window again just now. And there were no spiders or other insects where I sprayed. No spider webs or anything. After rains, winds, time, and it’s living up to the claims so far of being long lasting defense. I just thought that was cool. This is the last update though. Because I sprayed it again even though it wasn’t needed. I was trying to see if a spider would come running out from where I couldn’t see it or something. lol nothing ran out. I wish it worked better for flies. But this is a must to keep handy if you deal with a lot of spiders. Oh. Side note. It hasn’t messed up my paint either. But this is a case by case basis. I sprayed in the doorway because spiders kept going there. They would come every couple of weeks. I sprayed and within 2 days I saw 3 spiders right where I sprayed. Didn't phase them at all. The daddy long leg ones. Not sure why it works so well for the outside spiders and not for the long legs. But hey. If I had to choose which spiders I wanted to stay away, it's definitely the ones outside. still disappointed though.

We use it indoors - baseboards; and outdoors > foundation of home around exterior of windows, doors, inside of garage. Odorless and it works! I personally found 2 dead palmetto bugs when we returned from our two-week vacation last year in the house where I must have missed a section of foundation.
