Is a great medium between true hair wax and edge control. Use now instead of ampro prostyl gel. Does not leave a residue or flake and smells good. I know this sounds gross, but do not wash my hair everyday, as it dries it out. I'm sure some of you reading reviews for this product know what I'm talking about. Am biracial and have curly hair which has thinned since reaching 40, but this works great on my thinner hair and my kids really thick curly hair.     • Perfect - but not for everyone
I love love love this product! It is really great at smoothing my hair and edges. It is perfect for me but I don't think it is for everyone. I also use a product called Hick's EdgesHicks Edges Pomade 4oz. I actually like both of these products but here is my recommendation if you use the Olive Oil. If you are wearing your hair curly, I recommend using Olive Oil Edge Control Gel. It is medium-weight, not too heavy, its definitely not greasy. I think the moisture in it will cause straight hair to ripple or wave-up. But if your hair is being worn curly its perfect! You get smooth edges, no residue, and you can even use it to smooth back any pony puffs or other hair-do's that require slicking back hair. It leaves a nice, non-greasy shine. Love it! I use Hick's for when I wear my hair straight. For the record, it will last all night if you are going out. My Hair Background: I have natural (African-American) hair, 3b,4a, is what I have been told. I wear it curly a lot and straighten it every 3-4 weeks (less in the summer). ... show more

Perfect edge control, non flaking and not crunchy. It has a super hold on my edges. It usually last about 8hrs then I reapply. I have coarse edges.

This almond edge control gel smell sweet. This is the only edge control gel that is a good quality, on both my natural curly hair and on my flat ironed straight hair. This gel is light-weight, non-flacky and does not leave a sticky residue on my finger-tips. This gel makes my edges lay down in the most natural way. You can not see the gel on the edges of my hair. I love edge control but i notice that it leaves a white residue and it doesn't do well with the heat so if your natural like me it wont hold for very long. What i found helpful is putting it on at night and wrapping a scarf around your sides while your sleeping, When you wake up it will lay pretty flat and the results can last all day as long as your not in any type of heat or sweat.
