  • We purchased three and are mostly pleased.
Size: XX-Large Color: Black
I purchased three of these as gifts for Christmas. All three arrived quickly. The sizing was a bit of an issue for two of the recipients. I got my husband an XL and it's a bit loose. It wouldn't be much of an issue, except when he sits down, because the arm holes are too big, the vest rides up. I ordered an XL for my son-in-law and had to send it back because it was too tight. The replacement arrived without the battery or charger. We notified the company and they sent those. It took a bit longer to get those than it took to get the original order. Once he got the battery and finally went to wear the vest, he noticed that one of the seams was frayed/ripped. I'll attach a photo. So, once again, we contacted the company. It took them a few days and a couple of emails to respond. They offered to either allow us send the vest back (once again), get a refund (once again) and order a new vest, or they said that they could refund us a percentage if we were willing to repair the vest ourselves. I spoke to my son-in-law and since his mother is a seamstress, he chose to do that, rather than wait a few more weeks to have a useable vest. We received the refund the next day. Concerning the vests otherwise, all three recipients are pleased with the warmth and comfort of them. Our son works outside, on industrial roofs in the winter and says that his keeps him warm. The battery life has been good so far and the batteries charge quickly and completely. All in all, we're pleased with the vests and the customer service. We'd recommend this product. ... show more

  • Sizing appears over-debated in other reviews.
Size: XX-Large Color: Flecking Grey
Lots of reviews discuss the sizing of this product. Even Amazon recommended on size up from my normal ordered size of XL. I am speculating that the size issue debated by other reviewers stems from how much clothing the user intends to wear underneath the vest. I use the vest in southern US winter climate as the outer layer, and to reduce clothing layers while playing tennis. So I could have probably got by with my normal XL size for this vest. But I'm keeping the XXL that I actually ordered. I suppose if you are buying this vest for northern US winter climate and to wear an an outer layer, you'll want to go one size up so you can wear additional layers underneath it. A both negative and positive of this vest, in comparison to other vests I have purchased, is that the vest's battery plug is a round barrel plug, instead of a USB. This bars the use for this vest of typical batteries used for cell phones. However, I have found that most cell phone batteries need to be separately turned on all prior to immediately use by the vest. The supplied battery provided power to the vest without being separately turned on; the supplied battery does not even have an on/off switch, which I like. I ordered a spare battery from the ORORO website. The complaints about battery weight are not valid in my experience. Most 10000 mah cell batteries used in other vests seem to weigh about the same. The complaints in other reviews may stem from a lack of experience with heated vests. ... show more

  • A wonderfully affordable luxury
Size: Large Color: Flecking Grey
Truly, and a little ironically, this heated vest is one of the coolest things I own. Living in Michigan, we have our fair share of cold and snowy days during the winter and, historically, our winter coats have shown it. Big, puffy, and insulated garments abound around here. This vest was gifted to me last Christmas and I wasn't prepared for how extremely well it works. The style I purchased even warms the pockets, which is PERFECT when you're blowing snow or scraping icy windows or making a skating pond. The vest encircles me with the perfect toast setting of warmth all on its own. Since it really changes the number of layers I need to wear for warmth, it actually enhances my flexibility when I have to get bundled up for the cold. This is an entirely new experience in cold weather wear and I can't endorse it enough if you are facing cold weather activities of your own. ... show more

  • Great vest, gives me significantly more mobility.
Size: Large Color: Black
I had a heart attack 3 weeks before I turned 50. It destroyed a life long ability to mostly ignore the weather. A year ago I would never have anticipated a use for this, much less a need. I've used this through several battery cycles, and the vest has been washed once. Take the battery out! It continues to work just fine. The use is a little confusing. It starts up in high mode (button glows red). After a bit it stops to medium mode (button lights up white) and stays there. Most times I only need low (blue light! ). Turning it on / off just requires holding the button in until the light turns on/off. Manually changing high/med/low invoices pressing the button once each time to cycle through red to white, white to blue, blue to red. One press gets you one level change. The button (located over the left breast) is a bit muted in bright light (I hold my hand to shade it a bit to confirm the setting, but a bit bright in dim light (I usual have another layer on over it, so not an issue). This isn't a complaint, just a heads up as to how it works. I bought a spare battery for this. That way I carry a fully charged one in a pocket, and don't have to worry about running out. That happened once, and I was surprised at how quickly I got cold. The spare battery is pricey, but worth it. ... show more
