I bought the ORORO Men’s 4-Zone Heated Jacket as a gift for my son this Christmas, and he absolutely loves it. For sizing reference, he is 6’4” and 145 lbs, and the Medium Tall fit him perfectly, great length in the sleeves and torso without being bulky. Generally speaking I don't prefer to order clothing online. I like to see the material in person, feel it, try it on and see how it hangs and make sure that it doesn't restrict my movement. A jacket is something you should be able to put on and really not think twice about it. Now, as I get older, I have to say that I hate the cold weather more and more. My wife and kids run the other way when I come in from cold weather because my hands and feet are often ice-cold to the touch. (In fact, it is quite fun to corner my youngest son and place my cold hands on him and listen to him playfully scream about my cold hands). Also, I ride a motorcycle on occasion and have heated clothing that I plug into my motorcycle battery to keep me warm while riding in cooler weather. So, wouldn't it make sense to have something that I could use in a similar fashion when I am out and about and it is cold outside? After reading many reviews about different heated jackets here on Amazon I was impressed by the ORORO model and it's offerings. I decided to give it a shot. Now, recently, I had lost 25 pounds (yea!) and some of my clothing sizes were now falling between Large and Medium sizes. Based on the chart provided I decided to get the MEDIUM size in this jacket. My mistake. When I received the jacket and tried it on it was too snug through the armpits. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they promptly offered me a refund or exchange for another size. I chose an exchange for a LARGE model. Here's where their great customer service came into play. Due to a problem with their supplier, some of the materials they needed didn't arrive in a timely manner. This delayed the delivery of the new jacket. They kept me informed via email of the delays, offered again to give me a refund if I didn't want to wait, and were generally very proactive. Since I had sampled the jacket already, and since I admired the construction and materials I decided to wait. When my jacket was ready to ship they even threw in a free pair of soccer socks to thank me for my patience. Now I have the jacket and it is terrific! Even without activating the heat unit it is quite warm and very good at blocking the wind. The jacket offers a 5 minute pre-heat option and three levels of heat. The lighted emblem on the breast lets me know if my battery is still charged and functioning. It is quite comfortable, the hood is very helpful when needed and the heating units work well. The bulk of the heat is applied to the back of the jacket - so don't think that you will be wrapped from head to waist with heating elements all around you. It works surprisingly well. I have taken our dog out for walks in the wind and cold and actually looked forward to the experience instead of experiencing the dread of cold seeping in at various openings. It is well made, thin and convenient, and totally a winner. I highly recommend this jacket.

I figured it would be a good investment because Colorado winters get pretty cold, and it works great. Heating/warmth: Even without the heater on, it’s still a very warm coat and I found that I wasn’t cold at all, even when I was outside when it was 10 degrees F. The heaters don’t cover the whole jacket, but they produce a nice radiating effect that makes your whole body feel warm. The preheat mode is great, when you turn on the jacket it heats on the highest setting for five minutes and then automatically drops to a lower heat setting. Even without it though, it warms up very quickly. The only thing I wish it had were heaters on the front pockets to keep your hands warm, like I’ve seen in some other jackets. Battery life/charging: Battery pack is heavy but it doesn’t weigh down the pocket nearly as much as I thought. It’s very easy to use and it has four dots to show you how much battery life is left. It even charges with USB-C, which is great to see as a lot of these kinds of products charge with proprietary or older connectors that just makes it more of a hassle. With a combination of high and medium heat settings, I’d say I get about 3-4 hours of use. Not bad at all. Jacket feel/mobility: The jacket is a little heavy, but that’s to be expected because it’s more like a coat than it is a jacket. It’s still relatively easy to move around with. Order a size that won’t be extremely tight on your body, but you don’t want it too loose either because then you can’t feel the heat. Experience in snow/rain: Water resistance is great. Even when I was getting pummeled by heavy snow, the inside of the jacket stayed completely dry. Overall experience: Jacket was a great price and even included a storage bag. Battery is easy to charge and lasts pretty long, and heat works well. I 100% recommend if you live in any sort of cold climate. EDIT 11/20/23: Wanted to update my review because the company reached out to me directly to send me a battery bag for the jacket as a thank you for writing a review. Very positive customer service, some of the best I’ve experienced

So far it’s great, still time to disappoint though. Fit: I’m 5/9 and 165 LBS with a slim build. The medium fits well but the waist is a little short. I think after a little breaking in it will fit perfectly. You’ll want a tighter fit with this jacket as the heat doesn’t radiate well, it’s more of a direct transfer via contact. Heating: The jacket heats well on high and medium, in my opinion the low setting is useless. I wouldn’t consider wearing a heated jacket unless it’s 32 degrees or less, and the low setting I can’t feel at this temp. Maybe if there is no wind at all it would work out. To give you an idea of how strong the heat is on high, imagine having a hand warmer in the 3 places the jacked heats up. Ease of use: Very easy, hold the button for 3 seconds for ON/OFF and press it once to cycle through the settings. Each setting has its own color so you know what it’s on. HIGH = RED MED = WHITE LOW = BLUE. LED Lighting: The led lighting has multiple uses. It’s primary use is so you know whatemp setting you’re on. But it also helps people see you at night, and it’s stylish. However I think the lighting it’s too bright and distracting besides the red light. Jackets like this will only get more effective as batteries are improved. I would say at this point in time it is well worth it, and in the future it will be amazing. UPDATE 1/19/19 - BEWARE - Be careful when taking the jacket off. Static electricity will build up and I’ve had it discharge through the electronic components multiple times. When this happens the button on the chest flashes as if I just pressed the button on the battery bank, it will also turn the jacket on if you hold the chest button down like normal. Nothing has been damaged from this yet, but this has potential to short circuit the jacket. I suggest taking the Left Arm off first so if static electricity is discharged it will be on the Right Arm where it’s safer. Or ground yourself while taking the jacket off so static is never built. - Small VS The Rest. The small version of the jacket is much different, the battery bank is only 4400mah (Less capacity) and does not have a button on it. To turn the small jacket on all I have to do is press and hold the chest button.

Awesome jacket overall. A friend of mine had purchased one, and of course I rolled my eyes. But coming from the serial work “freeze bunny” this jacket is perfect for all day wear, and easily heats to whatever temp is needed! Great style, and great quality. Very pleased! Now, for the one major Con about this jacket - BUYER BEWARE If you wear this jacket sitting in a office chair, through some type of advanced physics wayyy beyond my seasoned years, your farts will become trapped in the jacket, warmed back up to what I assume is internal temperatures, then released directly into your own face when you move to adjust your posture. Seriously, I just tasted what I ate three days ago. Without warning. And I thought to myself “heh i pray to god that SBD (silent but deadly) doesn’ smell....” laughing about the 15 second fart I just let silently escape. To my suprise, no smell or anything. Score! Right up until I shifted my posture. At this point, the fart gasses escaped the warmth of the jacket and BAM smacked me in the nostrils so quickly and without warning that it caused me to pretty much choke on it, leading to a laughing/coughing fit while the smell of a thousand rat corpses stewed in taco seasoning and hot sauce bombarded all of my senses. Smells were colors and I could hear the taste of that fart. For real. So yeah, awesome jacket, but adds a layer of deadliness to flatulance that one must Consider before purchasing.

First off, this is a legit real review! I originally ordered this coat in large and they sent a medium, which actually worked out in my favor. I'm 5' 10" and 160 lbs. You actually want the coat to be more snug than not so it fits tighter to your body and the heat is making direct contact instead of trying to heat the air between your coat and your body. The only problem I've had with this coat since January of 2018 when I ordered it was the zipper started acting up a little last winter. It was just a little spat and seems to have Autocorrected. Lol. Other than that, I've wore it to work everyday outside in the winter since and wear it hunting every time it's cold. I've got innumerable comments on it, mainly because the power button glows rather brightly and catches everyone off guard. The front of the coat is showing a little wear, but it's been almost two years, and I work a physical, rigorous job, so to say it's been worth the money is an understatement! The heating temps are some of the highest I've found also. I don't really use the hood because it's kinda awkward in the fact that I feel like the zipper should have continued further around the hood, but it zips off, so that's nice. The battery is pretty slim and super light. You don't really notice the battery being there. Plus you can charge your phone off the battery, which is a plus in the deerstand. Lol. I've charged my phone from almost dead to full charge all while having the coat keep me warm. I haven't had any problems with the stitching or anything like that and the battery has never given me an ounce of trouble. It still fully charges and drains at the same rate as day one. I can get about 5 hours on HI out of one charge. I love it so much, I've talked 3 others into buying the same brand, and I've since bought heated base layer shirt and pants. My brother owns the Milwaukee coat and he said the battery is kinda awkward and looking back, he would've rather bought something else. Once you step into the world of heated clothing, you'll never return to layers. Lol. I'll try to add pics if possible.

It was a tough choice to decide which heated jacket to buy. I'd only learned of their existence due to a Kickstarter Campaign. I guess some allow for smartphone control, but for me, I just need to reach over and hit a button when I need more or less heat. Didn't see the need to whip out the old phone, load an app, and hit buttons each time. Thus, I narrowed it down to the Milwaukee and DeWalt and Ororo. I checked a LOT of reviews online. Nice to have that option. The results? I of course went with the Ororo--again due to strong recommendations and a price that was in my range. The verdict? Pros: Overall, it's great. Firstly, I wear a lot even without it powered on. The coat is comfortable and feels light and cozy. Notably, be sure to get the correct size. The medium was too small for me. The large might be a tad loose, but I prefer to error on the side of being able to raise my arms over my head. And if you do want to wear a thermal and sweater under it, you'll need that space. The heating times are good for such a small battery. The high setting gives me 4 hours. 6:45 on medium and almost 10 hours on low, though the heat is pretty light on that setting. Medium seems like the best overall heat for the time, though high is certainly nice--especially during the pre-heat stage. Now, this isn't a furnace. It's warm but not toasty hot. And oddly enough, it's usually best with just a t-shirt underneath as it allows closer comfort with the heating elements. Would the jacket and just a t-shirt be enough in snowy weather? Not sure, but I will likely find out soon. Cons? Actually, hard to say, since it delivers exactly what I was looking for. If I could improve it at all, I suppose more heating elements would be nice, like around the pockets and lower areas of the coat. Some don't like the light being always on (when powered up). Tough call there. It does get people's attention and I guess it's a conversation starter. But sometimes I get a stare or two and forget why and think, "What? Is my hair on fire?" Overall, again, I like it a lot as I get cold easy and heating the house every day gets expensive. This is a great solution.
