After reading reviews for several other jackets like this one, I decided to buy this jacket and I wasn't disappointed! Many of the things that others said about it were spot on. I needed a jacket to keep me warm for a quick trip to Park City, Utah. This jacket kept me so warm that on one of the nights, all I wore underneath was a thin black short sleeved shirt with an open eyelet in the back! And the weather was in the 20s! (Granted, please don't forget a scarf and gloves--those are essential!). I am 5'0" and about 130 lbs, and I got the jacket in a size Small. It fit me very well (was long for me but that is what I wanted--it hit a little below the midpoint of my thigh, closer to my knee), and even had room in case I wanted to wear bulky sweaters or layers underneath, which as I mentioned above, I didn't need to do much bc it kept me very warm. There are two zipper pockets (one on each side) where I kept items like my lip gloss, small wallet, cell phone, hand warmers. And there are also two additional zippered pockets vertically along the chest area, in case you want to hide any other items. The zippers do stick a little, but nothing a little WD40 can't handle. There are also two hand pockets (unzippered) on the side of each hip for you to put your hands into (this is where my hands are in the picture)--these pockets were deep and big enough to hold my gloves and my hands and any other little items I needed to store (my goal, as you might be able to tell, was not to have to carry any type of purse or bag). The hood came in handy, especially when it started to rain and snow. Definitely kept me very warm. This jacket is quite heavy, which I like, but some may not like that aspect of the jacket (when my husband picked it up to hand to me, he made a comment about how heavy it felt). I got it in the beige color, so it goes with pretty much everything, and had a really nice light salmon/tangerine lining color inside. It also had some side zippers to expand the jacket around the hips (if you are more of a pear shape), and also another expandable area around either side of the main vertical zipper that zips up the jacket, so plenty of room. This jacket feels like a down comforter, warm, cozy, puffy in that sense, but definitely a good jacket if you are going to be in the cold cold weather! If you are looking for something more fitted, this probably isn't the jacket for you, but if warmth, storage, and comfort are key, then this is a good one to have in your closet for those super cold nights or trips to the mountains!

Buy this now! I bought this coat in advance of the massive winter storm about to hit Texas that is triggering my trauma from the Snowpocalypse that left Texas without power for a week or more in 2021. I also travel to Colorado multiple many times every year due to a long-distance relationship, and we do lots of outside activities in the cold, including ski resorts on the mountains. I don’t do snow sports due to being disabled (and really just an inept Texan who was not raised anywhere near snow). I bought the red one because if I fall in the snow, I want someone to find me before I die. But mainly I just like red. Anyway, I needed a great coat, and let me tell you, this thing is PERFECT! I’m 5’4” and currently 149lbs. I usually wear a medium in clothes, so I sized up to a large in this coat because I wanted to be able to comfortably layer clothes under it. The large definitely meets this requirement. Without under layers it feels super comfy and spacious without feeling like a bulky Oompa Loompa. With layers, it works exactly as I had hoped. I can fit a base layer top/bottom, Patagonia quarter zip fleece, and bulky large sweater with ski pants on with zero problems. At my height, the length hits about mid-thigh, unlike the pictured model or taller girlies. I like this because it covers my butt when I sit down so I don’t sit directly on cold surfaces. It also prevents feeling drafty underneath. Pros: - Feels like a comfy down sleeping bag - Super warm even without layers - Water resistant - Fur hood keeps snow out of my face - Fleece lining in hood warms my head - Spacious for layers - Four very accessible front pockets - One inside left breast pocket - Zippered side expansion option - Well-made and quality-feeling fabric - Beautiful true red color - Ribbon attachments to zippers so gloved hands can easily pull them open/closed Cons: - Only hood is fleece lined, not coat body - Water-resistant instead of waterproof - More color options? Purple/pink/medium and light blue, etc. My elderly mom loves mine and wishes they had a purple one I find most of the cons, aside from the water resistant versus waterproof one, to be minor and nitpicky. Definitely not a reason to pass on this coat unless you just absolutely need those features for some reason. I have not tried to wash it yet, so I can’t comment on that, but I’m not seeing anything that would make washability a problem. I went back and forth about buying this thing for a while when I started seeing it everywhere. I have a not-like-other-girls streak in me that I don’t necessarily like, but sometimes it’s not good to jump on every trend. All this to say, if you’re on the fence about it, just go ahead and do yourself a favor and buy it already because I stupidly waited until a couple of days before this storm. Almost didn’t make it. Buy it!

I ordered this right before the big snow storm that took out half the country! I'm on the east coast and it's been 3 weeks and we are still piled up with snow (that's now ice), and temps are below freezing. This duck-down coat does an amazing job of keeping me warm. It blocks the wind and even the pockets keep my hands very toasty. Every body part that is covered by the coat is warm. The hood is large and roomy, but very warm. I still wear a scarf or fleece gaitor to cover my neck. The fit is roomy. I can layer and still feel comfy. If you have wide hips, you can unzip the sides when you sit. I'm fairly short 4'11, 150 lbs, I usually wear a size 12-14. The coat reaches down to right above my knees and covers my bum. I ordered the size Large. The material is not stiff, so I don't feel stifled and suffocated trying to move around or put on a backpack. Although, I've not had to use a bag because I appreciate the 4 extra zippered pockets. Right and left chest pockets for cell phone and wallet/metro card, and the lower pockets I've used for different purposes: 1. produce- i went to the grocery store and fit 5 larger plum tomatoes and 3 ginormous jalapeño peppers. 2. I can fit a 24 oz water bottle in it (it doesnt zip, but its deep enough so it doesn't fall out. 3. Random things I would take in a bag like my pill box, keys, gloves, compact umbrella, etc. The zipper have a grosgrain "ribbon" type of attachment which is super helpful to pull up the zippers, since I'm short. There's also a zippered pocket inside on the left chest. *some may find that the arm length of the sleeves are short. Its fine for me. * Good price, fast shipping. I love my coat.

I have this coat and have enjoyed it for a few years. It was on Oprah's Favorites List so I took a chance. It is a favorite coat to wear in the winter as it is warm and has a lot of convenient pockets. When this Amazon Prime Sale began, I decided to get one of these coats for my young adult daughter. It arrived and is NOT the same at all. First of the outside is of great quality so that isn't the issue. It is good looking as it has always been. What is horrible is that the fill power down/feather is not as promised. There is hardly any fill and it is not consistent. When I mean hardly any, I mean that the coat is literally flat and not and has about a 2 in puffiness if you were using a 1-10 as a measure. Sure the price was great but for the way they made them-NOT AS PROMISED. I am done with these companies that have a hit and then pull back on the quality as the item still is selling like hotcakes based on past reviews. This is common on Amazon and I am sorry to say usually products from one particular country. UPDATE: I returned the coat and reordered for a smaller size. I also had contact with Orolay customer service. Since they didn't accept an exchange they made sure that when I reordered that I got the same low price as was offered to me during the Prime sale. They also were concerned that I was unhappy with the first one sent to me. I have to say that the replacement is much more full with feathers than the first one. Once it is removed from the packing bag it is necessary to puff it up since it has been flattened. It resembles the one I ordered a few years ago but with a small exception. They could improve it with a bit more fill on the back just above the bottom. I think it needs more filling for the warmth this coat promises. The fabric and construction are excellent. The pockets have always been placed too high on the sides but that is something one can adapt to. The zipper as is typical is a bit tight so I always use something to make it move more smoothly. I would honestly say this is a great bargain. I have seen so many of these coats out and about. Lots of women who are pregnant say they bought it due to all the ability to let it out without alterations. There are side zippers and front snaps that open it up. Very versatile!

This coat is big, cozy, and warm. It’s like wearing a hug. The many features added to adjust for size and fit differences make this coat truly stand out. They made the difference of this coat fitting me when at first i thought it too small. Using the side zips for additional space (or making the coat more snug) and unsnapping the bilateral snaps by the front closure zipper made it work for me. And in colder weather, I re-snap the ones by the front closure zipper that adds a little more toast to its “toastyness”. The numerous pockets are essential for true winter coats. Who wants to carry a bag when it’s super cold outside? Not me, therefore, the pockets become priceless. The added zipper pulls make it very easy to open/close the pockets when one is wearing beefy hand coverings. The pockets for your hands are lined and very warm. The hood is large and beefy and makes it so one can forego a scarf, and sometimes even a hat. I live in Wisconsin and it’s currently 30 degrees below zero with the windchill. This coat is so warm, i would never guess the temp is this low. I’ve worn Lands’ End coats religiously my whole life, that is until i found this coat. It’s a true rival. With all of this praise, i do have some suggestions: add a double-zipper to the open/close front zipper. This is a crucial feature in cold weather environments and almost kept me from buying the coat. One needs the added comfort for sitting in the car, as well as being able to reach your pants pockets without having to unzip the coat completely. Then there’s the great hood, which some of the features that make it great also make it functionally difficult to wear. First, it’s so large and cumbersome that it interferes with your visibility while driving. You either have to take the coat off to drive (which is very cold until the car heats up) or deal with compromised visibility. Therefore, this hood should be removable. One can keep the interior edges and fringe of the hood much cleaner when it’s removable too, which means you can make the coat last longer. Also, since it is so big that you can forego a scarf, with a few added snaps and/or straps, then you could keep the hood from blowing off on windy days. Having to use one less article of clothing is a major plus, and this would be an easy additional feature to add. Actually, all of these suggestions are simple but very crucial to those of us who wear the coat day-in and day-out. A casual wearer might not be bothered as much by these features.

I LOVE this coat! It's cozy, comfortable, & keeps me nice & warm, despite my having the BMI of a praying mantis & an average body temperature of 97 degrees. I'm ALWAYS cold, but not in this bad boy. Amongst previous reviews & questions, there were some issues raised about the fill. According to the coat's tag, the fill is 90% down & 10% feathers, while the shell & lining is 100% polyester. Given the warmth of the coat (without being too heavy, FYI), I believe the tag's veracity. It looks cool as hell! I got the black &, with the silver zippers, orange lining, & unique silhouette, it's got a modern bomber jacket vibe. Let's talk about those magical pockets: Two vertical zip breast pockets, two horizontal zip hip pockets, & two vertical slip pockets behind the horizontal hip pockets. The magic is both in the number of pockets & their functionality, i.e. they're actually big enough to put things in, including a large, stainless steel drink bottle in the hip zip! Before I ordered this coat, I looked in brick & mortar stores at countless down coats ranging from $50 - $600. None of them had pockets so abunant & ample, a ridiculous cliché in women's garment design. The only thing missing in the Orolay is an interior breast pocket. I also would've liked a double front zipper, but the gusseted side zippers go plenty high enough to loosen up the coat around the hips to sit comfortably. This additional detailing also adds to the coat's aesthetic. The front "blanket" sections also have snaps down the length of the coat on either side of the front zipper that act much like expandable luggage to accommodate heavier sweaters or just loosen things up. I'm 5' 7", 110 lbs., 34" bust, 27" waist, 37" hips, & I ordered the small, which fit as expected. That said, I went for S over XS because my shoulder width of 18 inches is a M, so I had to strike a balance between the shoulders not being too tight, the arms being long enough (they are), & not drowning in the torso. If you have similar measurements & aren't built like a skinny linebacker, the XS will fit comfortably. The only remaining detail is the hood. It's not removable & it's big. Though it's lightweight & doesn't feel heavy on the shoulders when down. There's also a snap on either side of the collar to keep it in place. It's large when up, but there's approximately 3 inches of shell fabric trim around the hood's lining, & the trim stays put when folded over. The lining is super soft faux sherpa, which is why it's warm, but not heavy. I've also seen low quality stitching in some previous reviews, but all of the stitching in my coat was secure & done properly. Short of some stick in the zippers that fixed right up with a hit of WD-40, the quality is up to snuff. If you're a form over function, "feminine" silhouette type, this coat isn't for you. But if you dig unique design, comfort, & functionality, go for it.

2018: I'm 5'4 and 120lbs. I purchased a small and fits me perfectly....with enough room to layer, if necessary. The olive is a lighter color as noted in many reviews, but I like the color. The length of jacket hit me mid thigh at the back....the jacket is longer in the back than the front. I bought this jacket for New Year's in Tokyo. The temperature fluctuated between the low 30's at night to high 40's during the day. I wore a breathable, long sleeve top during the day, and then layered a thin wool sweater at night. It kept me warm and I felt quite fashionable among the sea of black and gray jackets. I did not have to carry a backpack/purse when I wore this jacket. Plenty of pockets to keep my personal belongings. Inside pockets would have been a plus. The jacket is quite bulky though. I packed it in my carry on and it took approx 1/3 of the total space. I have to agree with other people that the zipper is not the greatest quality, but I knew this from the start and took extra care in zipping/unzipping. It is also not the lightest jacket. You can feel the weight when you put it on. The hood is an added plus, since it is oversized. I was able to wear a beanie and put the hood on as well. Not meant for the rain as it drizzled in Tokyo and water was absorbed into the jacket, but not completely through. Overall, I still love the style of the jacket and how warm it kept me. 2022: I realized I never hit the submit button back in 2018. Here I am again bc I loved the jacket so much I purchased a beige one in a Med. I'm now 5'4 and 130lbs and found that the small I purchased in 2018 still fit, but not enough for me to layer and move around comfortably. A few upgrades since 2018. The newer version now has an left interior pocket and heat thermal fabric that lines the upper back of the jacket. The fabric is matte vs the shinier version for the olive one I purchased back in 2018. The arms aren't tight, allowing me to wear a base layer and sweater underneath. Now the negatives: 1) again, bulky, 2) heavy, and 3) snap buttons on 2018 were very poor quality bc it completely snapped off the fabric. Not sure have the new version has improved but learned not to fuss w/ the snaps. I also plan to scotch guard the jacket to give it a bit more protection. And lastly, I solved the bulkiness/packing problem for my upcoming trip to Chicago & NYC. I placed the jacket in a size small SpaceSaver vacuum bag and it's now 1/4 the size. Hope this helps.

I got this coat after obsessing over it on TikTok. Finally got it and was ECSTATIC to find out the Medium fit me with extra room. Normally I need a large (5’0”, 155-160, 36D), esp over hoodies, but it was sold out. So glad I went with M. I love the expanding zippers and front snaps. It’d make the PERFECT maternity/postpartum coat! The color is pretty, but appears lighter in person. Wish it was a slightly darker olive green instead of a muted army color. As I wear it around the house more, I realize it’s probably too much coat for me. I’ve gained 25-30 lbs this year thanks to hormones, and I can’t decide if I want an oversized coat that’ll HIDE my weight, or a more tapered jacket that might give give me more shape. This one is so big it hides a lot, but it also adds a lot! I feel huge, which isn’t what I wanted. The neckline goes right up to my face chub and is unflattering. Sitting is tough with so much coat in my face. I also feel like it’s too casual! Sometimes a sleek black puffer looks great with anything, dressy or casual. I might return it and try an hi-low/asymmetrical hem coat they have. UPDATE: I returned it. I loved the fit but whenever I sat in the car, I had to unzip the sides. Wasn’t a huge fan of the white Sherpa in pictures…. Again, just too casual.
