This is a fantastic aquarium heater. With the two suction cups you can position it however you like and the cord is fairly flexible and nice and long. You can't make the cord do sharp 90-degree bends, but you can get fairly close so routing the cable is relatively easy. I highly recommend you do this before you add water and fish. This heater appears to have 2-degree hysteresis, which means it will go 2 degrees above and below the set point before clicking off and on respectively. This causes my aquarium temp to stay within a 4 degree range throughout the day. And it really does click on and off with a noticeable noise. My aquarium is in my bedroom and the clicking sometimes grabs my attention when I am falling asleep, but that's just me. You can set it to quite a wide range of temps, which makes it super flexible. On a lighter note, the baby snails in my tank LOVE to crawl up and down the heater before they grow a bit and then venture off when they get big enough.

Not the best at keeping a constant temperature, but it keeps my tank within a good enough range for my betta. I'd say the it fluctuates anywhere from 1 to 4 degrees F.

I am so glad I read the reviews before purchasing! I have had this heater for two-weeks and our Betta Blue loves it and now that it's in the teens temperature outdoors when we are away, I don't have to worry about him freezing when my hubby turns down the heat and when we are away. I see him resting on the heater pipe which means it's safe and comfortable for him. I keep it at 75' it seems to recommend 80' when setting up I think that's too hot. I have ordered a bigger tank so, he's not so crowded but the heater fits well in this one-gallon tank as you can see. I am getting something filtered.

Came with only 1 suction cup. Needs 2. I used an old one i had. Set heatee to 77. Actual water temp was 75.4 using digital kitchem temp. Display on this heater showed water temp was 78. Not too far off. WAY better value than anything the pet store sells. 4.5 stars.
