Features

  • EXTRA ZING FOR YOUR KIT: this mini-size tambourine is the perfect way to add "ching" to your hihat foot patterns; you can play any note rate with your foot (quarters, eights, sixteenths), and the jingles respond right on the beat
  • WHY IT MATTERS: it brightens up your grooves with different tonal accents, and you don't have to change anything about how you play or re-position your kit; just attach to your hihat pull rod
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: stainless steel jingles respond with a medium-bright tone and controllable volume that supports the mix in acoustic settings and under mics in plugged-in settings
  • OF NOTE: the universal mount fits any hihat stand pull rod and is quick to add or remove; simply tighten the thumb screw when you have the tambourine in position
  • ONE BIG THING: the Meinl Headliner Series Hihat Tambourine is mainly for hihat foot accents; it stays quiet as you play your hihats with drumsticks and jumps into action when you use your foot
  • BY THE NUMBERS: 5" diameter steel frame, 16 jingle pairs, 2 rows
  • THE TAKEAWAY: it adds a nice tambourine "ching" to your hihat foot stomps with a minimal attachment that goes on in seconds
  • THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established 1951 in Germany; our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality

Description

Get a tambourine sound with your hihat foot using the Meinl Hihat Tambourine. This handy and compact tambourine easily mounts to any hihat stand pull rod to deliver a bright jingle accent whenever you open and close your hihats with your foot. A quick access wing nut allows for fast setup, adjustment, or removal, and it's designed to create a super strong grip on your hihat stand pull rod that stays in place even with heavy playing. Sixteen pairs of stainless steel jingles in a double row configuration respond with a medium- bright tone and volume that can support or cut through your mix—stainless steel leans toward the bright side (less dry) along with medium-range volume. The light, yet solid and durable steel frame measures 5" across and gives you a seamless touch as you play without a heavy lagging feel. This hihat tambourine is a great accent piece for drummers playing intimate acoustic settings, live rock shows, house of worship music, jazz gigs or recording sessions. When you don't need tambourine throughout the whole song, it will remain quiet as you play on your hihat cymbals without foot accents. Designed in Germany, Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturing business that was established in Germany in 1951. Our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality.

  • mostly cool
Size: Single Row Style: Headliner Series Color: Stainless Steel
i was looking for a replacement of my old LP hi hat tambourine and always thought these seemed cool. it’s well made and has a nice chick to it. i DO wish there were slightly more to it. i think they make one that has two rows or something. might be worth a look. i feel like it could just look a little chunkier and maybe be slightly louder. all n all would get again. ... show more

  • Durable, jingly.
Size: Double Row Style: Headliner Series Color: Stainless Steel
This is a good ol’ ching ring. It is most audible when you are working the hats with your foot. There may be some difference in the way closed or open hats sound while struck, but it would take a very discerning ear or mic on a quieter set of hats to discern this. The product is well made and essential for nailing those live Moby Dick moments! One thing to note is that it can only be used on a hi-hat, unlike the cheaper/lighter weight Meinl ching rings that can be placed on multiple cymbal types. There‘s really only one place/way to mount this one, and there is no easily accessible part of the frame to strike it directly with a stick. As mentioned, this mainly adds tambourine to foot-driven hi-hat tempos. ... show more

  • Sounds really good-
Size: Single Row Style: Headliner Series Color: Stainless Steel
These sound great- I tried a couple of other brands and they were very soft and quiet, not much action. these are very responsive to how much pressure play with- soft or loud,.

I was invited to play at a Lumineers tribute band. Having a tambourine is a must. I put this one on my hi-hat and carry it with my foot. It did the job! Will recommend!

  • Nice Add On to Our Drum Kit !
Size: Single Row Style: Headliner Series Color: Stainless Steel
I was so pleasantly surprised as to how durable this Meinl Hi Hat Tambourine is. I'm only a Recreational Drummer at home , playing for Retirement fun (69 YO), and was looking for a add on Tambourine to enhance the Kit. It is a solid, well built equipment that is withstanding my hits for over 6 months now. Love it and use it frequently when playing along to My Music. Seems to be a great Value. I am very pleased with my purchase. Meinl makes good stuff !! ... show more
