  • Orange Crush 12: Small Amp—Big Sound!
Color: Orange
The Orange Crush 12 12W 6" Guitar Amplifier and Speaker Combo has far exceeded my expectations. For a few decades I have used mostly Fender amps. Those Fender amps were and still are great amps, especially the tube amps. As for Fender solid-state amps, not so much. The sound of the Orange Crush 12 12W 6" solid-state amp sounds much better than any other solid-state amp I've tried. It's very basic and easy to use, and it has a big enough sound to mic up and do a gig in a small venue, or use it to record with. As for the controls, it comes equipped with volume, gain, overdrive, low, mid, and high tone controls. The amount of good, clean (not fuzzy or muddy) distortion can't be matched in any Fender or Marshall at the same price point. The one thing that it doesn't have is reverb, which is okay with me. I prefer delay over reverb anyway, and I purchased an inexpensive KMISE digital delay pedal, and it sounds phenomenal. Even with the extra pedals, I still came out spending less money than what the Fender Champion II costs, and I got a much better sound with the Orange Crush 12 amp. ... show more

  • Great for beginners to pros
Color: Orange
I recommended this to my niece when she was transitioning from acoustic to electric, and then I ended up getting one myself as a practice amp. I play a Strat with active pickups, and the tone with direct input (no pedal board) punches well beyond its weight class. I’m excited to start testing out different effects and tones, but so far this is a perfect amp for the price. Overall, this amp is an excellent choice for beginners or veteran players looking for a small practice amp. ... show more

  • Great for beginners and looks great. Great for beginners and looks great.
Color: Orange
Distortion is decent & build quality seems nice. It’s small. Clean tones and distortion are pretty good. Overall a good budget, beginner practice amp. It gets pretty loud. I barely ever put the volume over half way. And it works well with pedals as well. I feel like an amp like this should be around $75 at most. But I would recommend this for what it’s used for and the quality of it. Ive been happy with it so far. ... show more

  • Perfectly fine
Color: Orange
Let’s make it easy; Loud, portable, easy to use, and durable. More importantly you don’t need more than this for basic practicing and messing around solo.

  • Good practice amp. Great price.
Color: Orange
They did a good job replicating the Orange amp sound. Obviously it's not as good as their $1000 tube amps, but for the price it sounds really good, exactly how you would expect a Solid State amp from Orange would sound. Full mids, clean highs, it does lack in the low end but it's only a 6" speaker. This amp is louder than you would think. Things this amp is good at: practice at home, practice in a small studio, American garage grunge, Brit rock, Jazz, clean mids and highs, portability, jamming with acoustic guitars. Things this amp is not good at: practice in a large studio, live events (not even a small club), recording, beginners*, metal, low end is muddy. It's a small practice amp and that's what I bought it for and that's what it's good for. For $99 the build quality is really good. The only issue I have is the overdrive, and this issue is really only for my situation. The OD sound good at medium and high volume but you cannot get good distortion at low volumes. I have my amp in the bedroom and at the lowest volume you just can't over drive the preamp. So I'm either sharing my distortion with the entire house or playing clean. I'm probably getting a pedal to remedy this. However, the clean sounds good at all volumes and the OD sounds good at medium-high volumes. If you don't like the sound of Orange amps, you won't like this. If you own an Orange amp (tube) and want a similar sounding practice amp, you will like this amp. *the reason I don't think this is a good amp for a beginner is because it has a very distinct sound and requires some tweaking. Not something a beginner should be worrying about. On the other hand, it is very simple, but someone with no experience tweaking sound might struggle getting the sound they want. Edit: after owning the amp for a few weeks I was able to get some really good crunchy distortion out of it. ... show more

  • Clean and sizzling!!
Color: Orange
Wow I just placed my Fender 25R in the closet. Orange sizzles and is warm and rich when played on clean channels. Sound sweet with my Boss Delay. Buy one, check it out!

  • Great Practice Amp!
Color: Orange
This is a great practice amp, and I'm more than impressed with its performance. The tones and music coming from it are pure and clear. Though it's only 12 watts, it gets incredibly loud while maintaining the crispness of the music. There's no feedback unless you have it calibrated oddly. It does both clean and dirty, making the most beautiful sounds. We upgraded to this from a Champ 15, and the quality of the sound from the Orange amp is so much cleaner (or dirtier - your choice. ;) ). It's compact, so it fits in my tiny house well. It's very sturdily built; for the low price, it's not constructed cheaply. And, the great cool orange color is fantastic! ... show more

  • A great little amp.
Color: Black
I got the base model with 3 band EQ. Dime the EQ, unlike everyone, and you'll find your tone. Much of the tone comes from the way you play, not zeroing the mids or anything. This is a pretty great little amp to have around, I think. I've played guitar since I was 11 and I'm now 36. Anyone who says the tone is bad, it's because their guitar and way of playing sucks, or maybe they got a defective model. Learn your instrument. ... show more
