  • Great for seniors
Worked great! Call quality is great and so easy to setup. Worked perfectly as a land line for for my wife's mother while she was with us.

  • Absolute scam do not fall for it!!
This company is a joke and a scam. They don’t just charge your taxes. They charge you almost $20 a month for a basic landline phone. You’re better off just getting a cell phone. The landline phone doesn’t even work without Internet or power so a cell phone is literally the better option by all fronts and it’s cheaper. They lie cheat and steal you call them to cancel the premium plan that they automatically sign you up for without your consent and they continue to charge you for it in a month over a month. They have no options to cancel without calling absolute total scam be aware and be advised do not fall ... show more

  • Works as expected, price not as expected
Audio quality is acceptable, not amazing. Buttons are quite large and easy to use. Major downside is despite advertisement to the contrary, this phone REQUIRES the premium service plan at $21/month. Customer service cannot/will not change to the basic plan.

  • House phone
I ordered this product for my elderly father who is having a hard time operating his cell phone. This has worked perfect for him. It was so easy to set up and install and he hasn’t had an issue with phone calls since using this.

  • sometimes clear sometimes not
I got this in hopes of a clear and constant connection. So far the call quality varies as when the OOMA csr called me to verify it was clear but when I call the unit on my cell it sounds "grainy" and maybe this is just my cell phone. Also the sign up is tricky and I was automatically enrolled in premier instead of given a "trial" and told that once signed up for this I could not downgrade. The cost that was immediately taken was 21 dollar here in Chicago. I just hope this doesn't go up and up as I have experienced with ISP service :( For now I am going to keep it but was cautioned I have only thirty days to return. Maybe Amazon has a longer window; not sure. ... show more

  • If Already Using a Landline, Why Not
You might wonder who would still want to use a landline in this day and age. I'll answer that for you: my mother in law. End of the day, she finds it to be affordable, compared to the bill she gets from the cell phone company for her smartphone. But there's a benefit to her having a fixed line that she can use in case of emergency, if there's no cell phone signal. Given we live out in the country, you'd be surprised at just how often calls or dropped, or she misses calls entirely. So this product may not appeal to everyone. But for anyone who lives where we do, it was practical. The sound quality is adequate, it wasn't super hard for me to set up, and it's easy for her to use. I don't know that it's right for everyone, but it was a welcome addition to her home, which is also on our land. ... show more

  • Ooma: Because Landlines Deserve a Second Chance
I ditched AT&T back in the dark ages of 2015 when they wanted to charge me, I swear, for breathing too loudly near the phone. Fifty bucks a month for basic service? I could buy a small island for that! Enter Ooma, my VOIP knight in shining...plastic. Remember landlines? Those ancient artifacts that tethered you to the wall? Yeah, Ooma lets you keep that vintage vibe, but without the vintage prices. My bill started at a measly $14, now it's a whopping $18. Inflation, am I right? But hey, for that, I get voicemail, call blocking (so I can finally screen those extended car warranty calls), call forwarding (so I can avoid those calls altogether), and three-way conferencing (so I can finally have that three-way call with my wife and my dog). The magic of Ooma is that it's like a chameleon. It rings on my home phone and my cell. I can even use their app to make calls. It's like I'm living in the future, except I still use a landline. Don't judge me. Porting my number was a breeze, only cost me $40. Which, let's be honest, is less than I spend on Coke Zero in a week. Setting up the account was free, but you do have to buy the Ooma box itself. Think of it as the gateway to phone nirvana. Just plug your regular phone into it and boom, you're back in business. (Pro tip: the included phone is about as basic as it gets. Hook it up to a cordless phone for caller ID and other fancy features). Unlimited calls to the US and Canada? Yes, please! I haven't tried calling Antarctica yet, but I'm sure Ooma has a plan for that too. And if you happen to know someone else with Ooma, you can call them for free, anywhere in the world! It's like a secret phone club. My absolute favorite thing? I can take my Ooma box (aka my "Telo") with me when I travel! It's like having my home phone surgically attached to my hip. And my voicemails get emailed to me, so I can listen to them while I'm sipping margaritas on the beach. (Just kidding, I'm usually listening to them while I'm stuck in traffic). Ooma is also super bandwidth-friendly. It uses less data than my kids watching TikTok. And the box itself? Never had a problem with it. It's like the Energizer Bunny of phone equipment. The service is reliable, too. Sure, there are occasional outages, but they're usually short and sweet. And honestly, I blame my internet provider more than Ooma. Even when it's down, I can still get voicemails. So, all in all, Ooma is a winner. It's cheap, it's reliable, and it lets me keep my landline alive. What's not to love? ... show more
