🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The OneXPlayer Mini AMD R7-5800U has been extensively praised for its solid build quality, impressive performance across a wide range of games and compatibility with Windows 11. Despite some complaints about its substantial size, and somewhat subpar battery life when gaming, many users found it to be worth the investment, especially those desiring a substantial amount of storage. Its joystick and gaming buttons have been compared favorably to Xbox controllers, despite some sensitivity issues in certain games.

Pros

  • 💪 Solid build quality and comfortable controls
  • 🎮 Can handle a wide range of games from different platforms like Steam, Epic Games, and Xbox subscription
  • 💾 Comes with ample storage options
  • 🔄 Compatible with Windows 11

Cons

  • 📏 Bigger in size compared to other handheld gaming devices
  • 🔋 Somewhat short battery life when gaming
  • 💸 On the expensive end of the spectrum
  • 🕹️ Joystick controls need sensitivity tweaking in certain games

Should I Buy It?

If you are an avid gamer looking for a high-performing, portable gaming PC with ample storage space, and comfortable with a significant investment, you should consider the OneXPlayer Mini AMD R7-5800U. Be prepared for a heftier size likened to original Xbox controllers and a decent, yet not exceptionally long gaming battery life.

  • So happy I got this
Size: Mini AMD R7-5800U 16GB/2TB Color: Black
I bought this because my Steam Deck does not play all 200 of my Steam games and I am so happy I did. Not only do I not regret it I use my OneXPlayer more than my Steam Deck. Don't get me wrong, I love my Steam Deck too but I hate the Linux platform and wished they would have just put it on the windows. I got the 2tb on my OneXPlayer and had to buy more micro sd cards for more storage. Yeah the Steam Deck is cheaper but again I need more storage and I can't stand the Linux platform. ... show more

  • You gotta really want to game it on the go
To justify the price you really gotta have a good reason to game it on the go. But if you do have a good reason and $1500 to burn than I highly recommend this device. I’ve played multiple AAA games and this handles them like nothing on low to medium settings. Some things to note is the horrible battery life but what are you really expecting playing ac Valhalla right? The horrible speakers too! How is my oled switch louder than this very expensive machine!??last but not least the joystick. In some fps the joysticks feels sensitive, like it’s really hard to aim. Other than that I am happy with this purchase even tho I hate to think about the price tag lol ... show more

  • way better than i thought it'd be.
i'll start by saying that i consider myself a casual hardcore gamer if that makes any sense. and i have fairly decent knowledge when it comes to pc / electronics / etc. i bought the onexplayer after quite a bit of on and off research. the steam deck announcement last year made me aware of the existence of handheld pcs and after seeing all the buzz, that was initially on my radar. that was until you had to be a steam member for an extended period of time to pre-order (which was fair). and then later on, valve had there issues with component shortages and all that as well if i remember correctly. my primary gaming choice has always been and will be console. even though i believe i have a capable pc, the only reason i'd want to game on that would be to gain access to modding which is limited to non-existent on console. but then i don't want to compromise anything or have weird installs corrupting my desktop pc. so the thought of having a "dedicated" gaming pc in handheld form factor was great for me. i can mess around with mods and other things and not have to worry about "screwing things up" on my desktop pc. and i need not worry about buying additional storage for any would be large gaming files. the added bonus for me is that i can make use of the xbox gamepass for pc / xcloud as well with a controller readily available. and speaking of game pass, my initial test run was with the definitive edition of Dishonored. download / setup was effortless and it looks great. i acquired Street Fighter V from Steam, and Cyberpunk 2077 from Epic. admittedly movement and control takes some getting used to because of the size of OXP. for Street Fighter it wasn't too bad. pulling off special moves was iffy at times as the d-pad is a bit "mushy" as another reviewer put it, but not a deal breaker. and to be honest, gaming on a handheld tends to be more for show and just to kill some time anyway and not necessarily for serious gaming(at least for me). as for CP2077 i definitely recommend some sensitivity tweaking in the settings for the analogs. but both performed well (imo) hovering within the medium settings in regards to graphics / frames / etc. pretty sure there are vids out there, that will show how to maybe manipulate BIOS and other internal components of the OXP for better performance in any given scenario. one final thing is that it technically isn't necessary, but i think it would be a good idea to consider purchasing the keyboard as well. i had the "pleasure" of discovering that some games will default to keyboard / mouse settings before starting. and while there is the on-screen keyboard, it may not function as intended in some cases. nothing major as you can make do (as i did) by using the keyboard you may already have for a pc. but if you're on the go, or dread the idea of having to plug and unplug the one you have already, then yeah it's best to have the OXP keyboard. my final thought is that if you have the funds, and you're in the market, then i think OXP is a great purchase. otherwise the much talked about Aya Neo should have some new releases coming soon. or wait for steam decks to become available. i don't think you can go wrong with either, as they all have something to like about them. ... show more

  • Not a great value for the money.
Size: Mini AMD R7-5800U 16GB/1TB Color: Black
This handheld is beautiful. It is constructed very well. It plays the games I want at a reasonable performance. The problem is the cost. In the current handheld market, this thing is WAY overpriced for the performance you get.

  • I love it
Size: Mini AMD R7-5800U 16GB/1TB Color: Black
I purchased the Mini AMD R7-5800U 16GB/2TB. I have played Madden, FF7 remastered, GTA, and a few other games on this and it's been amazing. Game play is great, screen is perfect, but Battery life is just alright. If I'm at 100% and playboy 2 hours, I'm at 30% Battery. It charges fast so it's not that bad. I have gotten 2 other friends to purchase after they gave it a try. I have played games from Steam, Epic Games, and Xbox subscription. I plan on trying the Playstation online games as I was told those work on it as well. I connected to my TV and an xbox controller with a dongle and played with zero issues. I highly suggest joining the Facebook group as the community of gamers using this have been helpful finding mods, tricks, and accessories to test. I love thing and hope to get a few more buddies hooked on it. ... show more

  • Good, expensive but good. And Huge
This thing is hugeeeeee. The new mini version might be more in line if you want a switch sized version. Build quality is top notch. Solid joystick and buttons, feels like an xbox controller to me. Biggest downsides is the sheer girth of this thing. The kickstand helps but this is for people who enjoyed the original xbox duke controller. Performance is spot on and battery life is acceptable given what this is. ~2h for most modern PC games, longer if you tweak TDP and grapics. I get a good 3-4 hours running power wash simulator on low. ... show more

  • Great Product!
Size: Mini AMD R7-5800U 16GB/2TB Color: Black
I think that this is a great device. I ordered both the GPD Win 3 (intel) and this Onexplayer mini (AMD). The GPD had a lot of driver issues and frequently threw the blue screen of death. It just wasn't as perfected as the Onexplayer. I'm writing my review of the 'mini' version. I love the size as it is larger with a way better screen than the GPD Win 3, but I feel like the Onexplayer 1s is too large, for me in regards to a mobile device. Windows 11, the keyboard, mouse and game pad functionality have all worked flawlessly. I've been able to run any game from Steam (Elden Ring, Forza 5 etc.) as well as run Playstation now and Bloodborne among others. I got the 2 tb storage and glad I did. ... show more
