I got a catio as my cats needed some outdoor time but safetly. The only window I could put it in was the bathroom. It was fine as I originally had flaps, but I swapped the flaps for a plexiglass wall and cat door and I needed a way to not have everyone looking in! This privacy film was the ticket! It was super easy to put on and came with a squeegee, water bottle and razor knife. You just spray down the surface, peel the protective plastic off the film, spray down the film, then set it on what you want to cover. Get it lined up then squeegee out the water. Then cut it to size!! I'm not a professional, but it was still super easy. Just remember to cut the film as close to the edge as possible as you don't want any overhang as that could make it come up eventually. Looks great and I have privacy now!

My cats have some favorite windows where they like to lounge in the sun on the sills for hours on end. But I don’t like that they’re exposed to so much UV. It causes sun bleaching of the fur on darker colored cats and potentially skin cancer on lighter colored ones. I applied this film on those windows specifically to protect them from UV light. Now they can bask to their heart’s content while seeing the world outside and I have one less health concern about them. It also helps reduce fading of furniture, carpet, photos and anything else inside. I got the Nocturnal Black color, which is the darkest in terms of visible light transmission, but it curiously doesn't block the most infrared of all the film colors available. My guess is that it converts some of the visible light into infrared. Actually not such a bad thing, as cats love solar warmth. Some people complain that films like this don’t provide privacy at night. They really don’t understand how one-way mirrors work. Such mirrors reflect part of the light on both sides. On whichever side has more light, the reflection overwhelms the dimmer image of the darker side. That means in bright daylight, it looks like a mirror from the outside but you can see the outdoors. But at night, the brighter environment is on the inside since your lights are on, so the interior will be visible from the outside. If you really want to maintain nighttime privacy, you’ll need to have bright lights outside. Drawing your curtains at night is a better option if you don't want to see mirror reflections of yourself anyway. If there's one aspect that I wish they would implement for improvement, it's adding a bird-friendly pattern of dots on the glass side to keep birds from colliding with the windows, since the reflection of the sky can confuse them. The most important thing: don’t rush the installation. Clean the windows well beforehand. Use plenty of water during installation (I prefer a full-size trigger spray bottle over the little one included in the package) and work the film a little at a time to avoid air bubbles. Also note that you're supposed to use water mixed with a bit of dishwashing detergent. The detergent provides the adhesive properties. Ever notice the gob of dried Dawn or Joy that sticks to the outside of the cap? Plain water doesn't work. Despite the description, it's not "static cling," but mild liquid adhesive that you're supposed to apply.

This tint was very easy for me to use. I have attached two pictures. The first one is from the inside with the top half of an exterior door tinted, looking outside. As you can see you still do retain a lot of visibility towards the outside as compared to the bottom half which is untinted. The second photo is from the outside looking inward with the same lighting, about 30 minutes later after I tinted both halves. You cannot see anything on the inside from the exterior. The process of cutting, watering, and smoothing out the tint was upfront and easily explained in the instructions. After a few hours a one or two bubbles came up on the edges and it was easy to smooth them out. No bubbles remain and I could not be happier with the value gained on security! I would recommend if you’re looking to mirror / tint a window like mine.

So I got this to put on our windows in the bathroom for privacy & I do have to say it works very well. During the day, no one can see in, at all. It actually just shows your reflection, like a mirror on the outside. During the night, it helps, but it is not as good as the daytime. But that is how it is described so I was expecting that. It helps block out the sun, so I imagine it will help with our cooling costs. We had enough for 2 windows, which was all we needed. Overall, I'm very happy with it & plan on getting more for other windows. I definitely recommend!! 👌🏻

This product,"One Way Privacy Window Film with 3 Tools,Heat Control&UV Blocking Window Tint", includes the window film with the squeegee tool, the snap-off blade cutter, and the spray bottle hidden in the hollow of the tube, and installation instructions. The roll of window film, with the removable protective film on the static cling side, measures almost exactly 17.5" wide as described. The whole kit, including the tools, weighs 7.17 oz. The squeeze tool works great and the cheap looking utility knife knife looks very basic but is quite sharp and cuts well. Unfortunately, the spray bottle barely works. You could wet your fingers and flick on more water faster than trying to pump water out of this sputtering spray bottle. It's not the cap nor the tube at the bottom that's causing the problem. The pump part of the spray bottle doesn't pump well while lacking in volume and force to push enough water out. It best to use another spray bottle instead of this on. Disregarding the disappointing spray bottle, the window film itself is great. It's good quality and easy to install with the instructions provided. It's also removable and repositionable, with leaving and residue. The tint and privacy function of this product works great whether the film is applied to the instead or outside glass panel. I would be glad to recommend this product.
