I installed this on my south facing garage windows. Our garage was always sweltering hot, but this cut down the heat significantly. Because the windows aren't large and up high, the mirrored exterior looks good from the outside. I took a picture and was surprised that my camera picked up the UV glare. Check it out-the windows to the left have the film applied. Installing it was easy-just follow directions closely. Once you squeeze out the bubbles, do it again. Check in about a half hour and squeeze out any other bubbles that have formed. Also, check from the outside for bubbles, you may see some you didn't notice from the inside.

The film comes with everything you need for the window coverage. It was easy to apply, a lot like applying wallpaper. It's fairly easy to apply alone but quicker and easier if you have someone to hold it while you peel the top film off and spray it

Installing this privacy film was surprisingly easy thanks to the included tools: the spray bottle, squeegee, and blue applicator make the process clean and bubble-free. The PET material feels sturdy and high-quality, and the textured finish adds a touch of elegance to my window without completely blocking natural light. What impressed me most was the one-way effect: from the outside, you can't see anything, but from the inside, I have a clear view of the garden. In addition, the heat control and UV blocking are real; my living room no longer gets as hot during the day, which is perfect for the Florida climate.

I got a catio as my cats needed some outdoor time but safetly. The only window I could put it in was the bathroom. It was fine as I originally had flaps, but I swapped the flaps for a plexiglass wall and cat door and I needed a way to not have everyone looking in! This privacy film was the ticket! It was super easy to put on and came with a squeegee, water bottle and razor knife. You just spray down the surface, peel the protective plastic off the film, spray down the film, then set it on what you want to cover. Get it lined up then squeegee out the water. Then cut it to size!! I'm not a professional, but it was still super easy. Just remember to cut the film as close to the edge as possible as you don't want any overhang as that could make it come up eventually. Looks great and I have privacy now!

My cats have some favorite windows where they like to lounge in the sun on the sills for hours on end. But I don’t like that they’re exposed to so much UV. It causes sun bleaching of the fur on darker colored cats and potentially skin cancer on lighter colored ones. I applied this film on those windows specifically to protect them from UV light. Now they can bask to their heart’s content while seeing the world outside and I have one less health concern about them. It also helps reduce fading of furniture, carpet, photos and anything else inside. I got the Nocturnal Black color, which is the darkest in terms of visible light transmission, but it curiously doesn't block the most infrared of all the film colors available. My guess is that it converts some of the visible light into infrared. Actually not such a bad thing, as cats love solar warmth. Some people complain that films like this don’t provide privacy at night. They really don’t understand how one-way mirrors work. Such mirrors reflect part of the light on both sides. On whichever side has more light, the reflection overwhelms the dimmer image of the darker side. That means in bright daylight, it looks like a mirror from the outside but you can see the outdoors. But at night, the brighter environment is on the inside since your lights are on, so the interior will be visible from the outside. If you really want to maintain nighttime privacy, you’ll need to have bright lights outside. Drawing your curtains at night is a better option if you don't want to see mirror reflections of yourself anyway. If there's one aspect that I wish they would implement for improvement, it's adding a bird-friendly pattern of dots on the glass side to keep birds from colliding with the windows, since the reflection of the sky can confuse them. The most important thing: don’t rush the installation. Clean the windows well beforehand. Use plenty of water during installation (I prefer a full-size trigger spray bottle over the little one included in the package) and work the film a little at a time to avoid air bubbles. Also note that you're supposed to use water mixed with a bit of dishwashing detergent. The detergent provides the adhesive properties. Ever notice the gob of dried Dawn or Joy that sticks to the outside of the cap? Plain water doesn't work. Despite the description, it's not "static cling," but mild liquid adhesive that you're supposed to apply.

Installation is pretty easy as long as you follow the instructions. Be sure to clean your glass to allow the best "stick". A little tricky to cut, just because scissors glide across the film so easily, but overall, excellent product that got the job done.
