Description

Are you tired of those dog-eared old copies of Motorcyclist and Cycle World that have been sitting on your toilet tank, and that you’ve been flipping through once a day since 2004? Well, buy a copy of the Bathroom Book of Motorcycle Trivia, you’ll have 365 new entries to peruse. Day 20: What was the first production motorcycle with electronic fuel injection? (Honda CX500 Turbo, 1982) Day 106: Why is Mike Hailwood still the best road racer who’s ever lived, no matter what Valentino Rossi’s fans say? (Two words. No, two letters: TT) Day 193: How did that crazy guy who built ‘Roadog’ die? (Spoiler: In a police shoot-out!) Mark Gardiner is the author of the cult classic Riding Man, and a motorcycle journalist whose writing has appeared in every major English-language motorcycle magazine. He's written some of the most thoughtful, inspiring, and moving stories ever published about motorcycles. This book doesn't contain any that stuff. Read more

  • A great read for all mororcycle enthusiast.
Format: Paperback
Such a fun book to read. I've been into bikes for just under 50 years. This book taught me many facts that I missed, and reminded me of many more that were lost in the back of my mind....

  • Another good read from Gardiner
Format: Paperback
This is a great book to toss in the travel bag/briefcase when you have 15 minutes or so of down time as the entries are short, but informative. As the title suggest, bathroom reading is optimum, too. Gardiner breaks up the information into sections of related interest such as ten of Honda's most important bikes; great racers; must ride roads, etc. This is another good book from Gardiner. I also highly recommend his first book, "Riding Man" about his experiences of racing the Isle of Man TT. Great stuff. ... show more

  • A fun trivia book that doubles as a reference guide
Format: Paperback
What are the ten best motorcycle movies? What are the worst? Who was the best racer of all time? How did the Hells Angels get started? Gardiner answers these questions and more in this book. Broken up into 365 facts (one for each day of the year), each fact is a nugget of motorcycling info that will broaden your understanding of all things on two wheels. The facts at end of the book deal with gear, training, and safe riding. They're mostly geared to newbies, but they still serve as good reminders for veteran riders. My only quibble with this book is that he lists "Riding Man" as one of the ten best motorcycle books on the market, but doesn't mention until the very end that he's the book's author. Likewise, he lists "One Man's Island" as one of the best motorcycle movies, but doesn't mention he's the subject of the movie until he very end. But that's a minor quibble. This book still deserves to sit on every serious rider's bookshelf. ... show more

This is one of my favorite motorcycle books ever. It is full of fascinating facts, and is fun to read. And the author also included some very insightful comments about riding and safety. Any avid motorcyclist would enjoy this book.

  • Good St**f
Format: Paperback
One of my best friends owns a bike shop where I hang out. He has the best sense of humor of just about anyone I know. He deserves this book, and I am glad that the author finally got around to writing it, we've been waiting !!! I peeked at a few of the trivia. It's well worth reading. This copy will be worn out in a month if it stays in the "Reading Room" at the shop. If you can't read, please consider that the cover art is more than enough reason to have this on hand in your "Library"! Cheers, Hap ... show more
