    • Great Apple TV Remote
Did you lose your Apple TV remote? It’s almost impossible to get a replacement that’s the same as the original. Well, this one is better than the original. This remote is so much easier to use than the original. I don’t know what knucklehead at Apple came up with the weird, nonintuitive touchpad design for the original remote - but it’s awful. This remote fixes almost all of its deficiencies. I was thinking about getting one of these months ago. We had an extended visit from an adorable two year old grandchild that resulted in the original remote disappearing. I decided to use that excuse to buy one of these - and I’m so glad I did. Probably the only downside to this remote is it isn’t rechargeable, but most remotes aren’t. It would have also been nice if they had added a button to turn close captioning like the iPhone Apple TV remote does, but the dramatically improved selection capability on this remote makes that less of a disadvantage. Oh, and setting this is up is a breeze. After adding AAA batteries, I turned on my Apple TV, moved the remote close to the box, pressed the menu and + buttons together for a few seconds, and everything worked - including power and volume.     • Control Apple TV but not TV alone
Web description said that the controller could control TV, but in fact it only controls the Apple TV, which controls the TV. The problem is my TV is too old to be controlled by Apple TV. So this is just a copy of the OEM Apple TV remote, which is fine if that is what you are looking for, it just wasn’t what I wanted. ... show more

    • Better than the original!
It's backlit! Lights up as soon as you pick it up or move it. No more fumbling around in the dark. It's also larger, which I like. The original remote was too easy to loose in the couch cushions. This is the only third party Apple TV replacement remote that actually has Siri Voice.

    • Nice option if you don't use apps that need touch controls
I like the design of this better than the Apple remote, particularly the dedicated controls for fast forward and rewind. Unfortunately, apps like DirecTV Stream require touch controls for seeking and don't work with those buttons, so I have to return it.
