My brother gifted his old vizio sound bar, but it obviously wouldn’t work with my roku tv. He told me to buy this, since he didn’t have the remote for the sound bar anymore. The sound bar connection is easy. But allegedly the remote is supposed to automatically work with Roku TVs out of the box, which wasn’t the case. I also had to look up how to reset back to default settings, after a few tries connecting the TV.     • Awesome remote. But not for Samsung
I have a newer Samsung smart TV and I’m completely irritated that it’s not backlit. This universal remote is very well made, looks great, and did cover some of the Samsung buttons. I spent a couple days trying to get all the basics covered but in the end I had to return. The challenge is that in my setup, the smart TV is both TV as well as streaming box, and also controls the eARC audio. This remote wants those to be three separate remotes so it would start to work but then lose navigation as you moved around menus and things. It would work in some ways and not others for audio, quirky things like that. I really like this remote and recommend if it works with your setup. I unfortunately had to return it. ... show more

    • Works with Toshiba Fire TV
The learning feature is a game changer. I know it isn't new technology but there are not many remotes out there that still do this. My advice is to program each button one at a time and test it. You may have to do a button more than once to get it to work, just be patient. If your current remote doesn't work, buy the cheap replacement remote for "Replacement Remote for Insignia Fire TVs and Toshiba Fire/Smart TVs Edition with Prime Video/Netflix/HBO, Vue Shortcut Buttons" and use it to program this one. I was never able to use the original remote with my receiver, but thanks to this little beauty I have a remote that works with the TV and does the power and volume on the receiver (there is two power buttons). It is great to have this all without having extra buttons that don't work for my smart tv that doesn't need the number buttons. This is a winner but it does require an IR port on the TV and to train it you need an IR remote. ... show more

    • This thing is amazing!
I was able to quickly get this to control all my devices and features, exactly as I wanted it. My setup is a 20yo Samsung plasma, a Roku express, and a 10yo Sony sound bar. I was able to map out specific keys to whatever I wanted using my OEM remote and this one face to face. The instructions are slightly daunting, but actually are very well written and it's pretty simple. All steps worked easily and as advertised. Even came in plastic free packaging! Battery door was hard to open, no way my mom or even most people could get that open. I had to use serious force! But it worked fine in the end. I will update this review in the future if I have any long term issues with the remote. Definitely worth the little extra over the Amazon alphabet soup usual suspects. ... show more

    • Exactly what I needed
Pro: I use my Xbox series X as my media center so I wanted an actual remote instead of a controller. This was exactly what I needed and also connects to my Samsung TV and Sonos Arc soundbar. Con: - The TV controls are limited to switching the source and turning it on/off so menu options are not available - the app buttons don’t work with the series X applications but you can set up a macro which essentially mimics the movements of you navigating to the desired app(Netflix, HBO, etc). Cool concept but not very accurate or consistent. - programming instructions aren’t very clear so it will take you a moment to read through and figure it out. -batteries not included - they sent me a used device that was likely returned so that’s the main reason I gave 3 stars. ... show more

    • Just. Get. It.
To start off, I have never been so immediately thrilled by an electronic device. This little remote does everything I have ever wanted out of a universal remote. It just replaced my old Logitech IR remotes. I have a rather simple set-up; just a TV and a stereo receiver. Within two minutes of putting batteries in, I had every command mapped exactly how I want it. THE CUSTOM COMMAND LEARNING! It is the most simple, yet elegant, remote set-up that I have ever experienced. I do not use the built-in streaming apps on my TV (I use my Xbox One for those) and I was able to map those to individual inputs on my stereo receiver. The dedicated input button is left for TV input selection. Volume controls the stereo, TV power button controls the TV power, and the auxiliary power button controls my stereo power. Even without dedicated profiles, this little guy works better than my Harmony 650 ever did. I absolutely could not recommend anything else if you're just using a typical TV/ amp set-up. Don't even go any further if you've read this, just buy it. I'll update if I have any issues in the future. ... show more
