We got this 100w laser from omtech and we were able to put in our deciated workshop room in our house and so far the laser has been working great. We were able to cut hardwoods up to 3/16" and do inlays and engravings with ease. The LightBurn software is a great professional tool to design anything with. It really is a complete software. The laser is not perfectly insulated, it does leak a little smoke, we did hope the air system would suck out all the smoke out of the room but we understand that this is not a machine to put in a house but we do believe we can put a more powerful fan to suck the air better. Regardless, it is a great and powerful machine with many possibilities and we have been using it greatly in our workshop.

Had the laser for about 2 weeks now and love it. Pretty easy setup and tuning, classic kinetic mounts for the mirrors, haven't entirely figured out the chiller UI but set the offset to the right range. User interface is OK, quality is good, and price is great.

I purchased an OMTech laser machine in 2023. Initially, the machine worked reasonably well and whenever small issues came up I contacted support and followed their troubleshooting instructions. In many cases I was able to resolve minor problems on my own. However, toward the end of 2024 the machine began to perform very poorly. It still powers on and technically runs, but it no longer operates correctly. The laser output is inconsistent and the machine is no longer able to cut or engrave with the accuracy and quality it previously had. The results are uneven and unreliable, which makes the machine essentially unusable for actual projects. I remember this clearly because I was planning to engrave leather notebooks as Christmas gifts in late 2024 and could not complete the project due to the machine’s poor performance. Since that time, I have been trying to resolve the issue through OMTech support. Unfortunately, the only guidance I continue to receive is instructions to troubleshoot internal components myself. These instructions often involve adjustments or diagnostics that require technical expertise that most customers simply do not have. As a customer who purchased a machine to run projects—not to become a technician—it is extremely frustrating to be repeatedly asked to attempt complex repairs without meaningful technical support. This problem has now gone unresolved from late 2024 through all of 2025 and into 2026. The machine technically “runs,” but it does not function properly enough to be used for real work. As a result, I have been left with a very expensive piece of equipment that has effectively been sitting unused. What is most disappointing is not just the performance issue itself, but the lack of reliable technical support to actually diagnose and resolve the problem. When customers invest thousands of dollars in equipment like this, they should be able to rely on the manufacturer for proper support and solutions. Buyers should carefully consider whether they are comfortable performing significant troubleshooting and repairs themselves if the machine begins to malfunction.
