This thing is awesome! Setting it up was a breeze! Went through the steps to check if the lasers are aligned properly and straight out of the box, they were! We have been using it for about a year now and haven't experienced many issues. We did add air assist, and upgraded the lens. We also removed the bed and used one that has an adjustable Z height for larger materials (I recommend doing this!). Overall a very good bang for you buck purchase! ... show more

Update: after contacting the seller, they promptly sent us a replacement tube, which runs great. Easy installation. Healthy and stable beam. Clean cuts. Happy kids. I hope this tube will have long lifetime ------------------- Purchased the machine in July, and have been using sporadically, once a week or so, for short low-intensity jobs (10% of laser power). Worked great when it was working. However, even with adequate cooling (the coolant temp has always been within the 18-20C range), the laser beam switched to the doughnut-shaped profile in November, i.e. useless for any kind of job due to the inability to focus the beam properly, and now the tube has to be replaced. ... show more

Mad Skills most definitely required. I knew going in that the assembly of these was shoddy at best but....wow. Out of the box the X axis was nearly unmovable. Had to remove the gantry entirely, disassemble it, unwarp it and then reassemble it just to gain movement. The Y axis bearing is horribly noisy and unlikely to last long. Plenty of stripped screws had to be replaced with better hardware. The red dot laser was not wired in....the ends were barely just pushed into a connector and fell out as soon as it was touched. The inside of the cabinet was dirty as are the mirrors and lens. Hopefully the tube is fine...going to be a bit of work to get this to the point of ven applying power. If you love fixing things, redesigning things and wondering how any of this can pass any quality assurance process then this is your baby. Edit: After several days of checking all connectors, repairing those found to be poorly crimped, etc., repairing the most glaring issue of no proper ground, replacing most of the screws on the gantry and mirror, reinstalling both temp meters because they fell out and aligning the mirrors it actually runs. I was able to confirm it is operational, laptop and k40 Whisperer can indeed control it. So in a nut shell....be prepared to rebuild this unit. It's a good parts kit, the case is good, tube is fine. Electrically dangerous until properly modified but....it will cut and engrave with a little work. You should be comfortable with soldering, mechanical skills, electrical skills and have a Macgyver Engineering degree. ... show more

Product did not work and company showed interest in assisting with problem solving but then failed to attend scheduled meet time. We ended up returning the machine but did not receive return labels for the multiple boxes and the company did not send a refund. We will update if a refund is issued.

This engraver came well packed, despite the shipping company trying to destroy it. No damage to the unit and it fired up and ran quite well. Be prepared to put in some work to get it ready. Had a question about something included and got a response from customer support within a day. I never expected that, but I guess that's why this vendor/brand is highly rated. ... show more

I did a lot of research prior to buying this unit, and I don't regret, the unit have lots of upgrades already installed, like limit switch, door safety, and many more.... some parts are not the highest quality but for the price it is a good start, and will give you the opportunity to perform more upgrades. the biggest advantage is that the unit have a good warranty, and believe me they will give you a high level support. one week after using the unit, the power supply stop working, (I was 2 cents close to return the entire unit, but they quickly contact me, and send me a new power supply), here is why I don't give it 5 stars, the unit requires alignment, like any other laser or 3d printer on the market, but the laser lens/mirror holders on the unit are super difficult to align, (they are super cheap), but with some patience, I was able to squeeze a few months and use them before buying a new set). (I haven't installed the new set, so my current machine is working ok). things to consider, laser is powerful, you can cut lots of stuff, but you will need some type of air assist, (that should be your first upgrade). if they add that from factory, this machine will be perfect. maybe after one more year, I'll buy/test the next size up, 50 or 60W, and the main reason is the bed size, and stronger rail system. this is not a sponsor review, I am happy with omtech quality. ... show more

I got this as a gift for my daughter she makes leather bags, belts, dog armor to keep hawks coyotes off smaller dogs. She played with it for a few days using wood till she got it right for leather, now she can engrave on her leather products, she even found a use for it with her scrap leather she engraves small pictures or sayings on the scape adds a pin used for hat pins on the back and they are so cute. She said it does have a learning curve but was not hard to learn, and she is thrilled with it. ... show more

Needed to engrave a few hundred stainless plates for a work project. Priced out going through a service bureau then found this. Watched several YouTube videos before arrival and had my designs ready to go in vector format. The unit arrived packaged extremely well with zero alignment necessary since all the adjustments screws were already set and were sealed with hot glue. Started the water pump and within fifteen minutes, I had the K40 Whisperer software driving the laser at 30% power to mark stainless coated with Brilliance ink.
