  • Poor quality material
Live and learn. (Review written after having coop 1 year) May 2022 I read reviews that indicated that the coop was cute, but the hardware was not really exterior quality. So I decided to buy it, planning on using my own exterior screws, which I did. The good.... it's cute. The nesting boxes are a nice size. The bad: very poor quality material, see photos ventilation window so warped impossible to open. Both front and back doors warped so they can't close. When you open the nesting box cover the shingle material that is loose drops into nesting box. The roost are way too narrow for chickens feet. I added a 1x3 but to be honest after the very first week of having chickens I realized they NEVER have wanted to roost in the coop, it is just way to low to the ground. (I did put it on blocks but it really didn't help) Unless you plan on placing the coop 3 feet off the ground plan on being on your hands and knees to pull the tray out, which is no fun. I really wish I had not wasted 500 dollars on this. After the first week of having chickens we were planning on building a new coop. Learn from my mistake. Have fun with chickens! ... show more

  • Not worth the cost
Easy to assemble. But after 3 months it's falling apart. Locks have had to be replaced, joints are separating, and the back door leaks water during rain storms. Also, little did I know - the roots are lower than the nests ans so the birds won't roost there. Nesting boxes need to be lower than roots. I would not recommend this coop. ... show more

  • Only have had it three weeks having to purchase diffedrent
We have had our coop up and used for our young chickens 10 weeks old for three weeks now and it is already falling apart. By week two the door to the coop for the chickens was falling part ( literally pannels falling off) the door swelled on day three in 80 degree heat and makes it hard to shut or close. the roost bars if chickens get excited and move around to fast there are ( 8 small bantams again 10 weeks old) the roost bars fall or move even when secured in the grooves they are made to mount into. I would not recommend this coop at all. Terrible. We are having to buy a new coop already from amother company. Only correct thing about is that it is easy to assembly. ... show more

  • Flimsy, Light Duty but Well Designed
Screw holes over drilled. Very thin soft wood. Hardware is chinsey. Definitely not worth $500. I gorilla wood glued the holy crud out of this thing. The roof and metal pan floor are sturdy, the rest is a grade above cardboard. With that said, after gluing everything (and I mean everything), using beefier screws where needed.... I think that it will serve its purpose well. I also plan on waterproofing it. All said and done, I would say this is worth about $200 before the additional fixes. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
I knew it wouldn't be the best, but thought it should last at least one season... not! First, the litter tray kept sticking; the overall structure is so flimsy that it gets out of square just from the chickens going in and out. The shingle material on the roof was questionable to start with, and after a couple of months, most of its protection was gone. Finally, it's nearly impossible to clean, with the limited access through half-opening nesting boxes and the small front and back doors. Hinged roof would have solved that, but would have made it even less sturdy. Go ahead and spend more to get something better! We just had to do that, only 5 months since getting this one. ... show more

  • Awesome, CUTE, easy to assemble, and sturdy.
If you don't know anything about putting something together, you should really read the directions before you start, lay everything out, make sure everything came with it, and follow the directions, the person who put mine together frames houses for a living, and it took him about 3 hours, but once he set everything out, it went like a really well scripted puzzle for him. Everything is sturdy, and it more than fits, my chickens. I have two Silkies, and two medium young birds, and I could easily pack in about 5 more birds. ... show more

  • Too expensive for the poor quality.
We’ve been using this coop (with seven hens) and it’s already falling apart. They punched out a panel on the drop down door and some of the siding has come loose. I knew it wouldn’t last forever but it won’t get through one season without repairs. Disappointed.
