  • Great value for a high-end computer.
Style: i7-9700K Processor | RTX 2080 Ti 11GB
For reference, I bought the version with the 2080Ti, and i7-9700K. The benchmarks speak for themselves in the attached imagery. That was tested, out-of-the-box, no overclocking, and about 24 hours after setup. After that, I installed 16 GB of RAM (Hyper X Fury, for anyone curious about doing this, since it only comes with 16GB of RAM to begin with.) Whisper quiet, badass looking, I love the modular capability with the hard drive hotswapping (will make it super easy to transfer files from my old computer). There's a surprise CD Drive on the front right. Didn't know that was a thing. Little flap that opens up to reveal the drive. The case opening is super smooth with a button on top to release the side -- so no having to mess around with screws to open the case. Opened the case, and the wires were surprisingly organized and tidy. Better than the old days, where you open up a prebuilt model to a rats nest of wires. All wrapped up nicely in a compact case that only takes up a small section of my desk. (that's it on the left, in the attached pic). Also loaded up the comp, by running a few games at the same time, waited a few minutes to let the temperatures climb and then stabilize, and then attached the "vitals" screenshot of that, to show you guys what approximate temps to expect when you're actually using this thing. Below the safe temperature thresholds for "under load" CPUs and GPUs. The GPU is kinda high, and about 12 degrees shy of the shut-off point, BUT that's to be expected, because you have to keep in mind that it's the OEM 2080Ti from Nvidia -- not one of the customized 2080Ti's with the custom cooling options. Now...This -Almost- lost a star, because of the below. It's a frustrating piece of it, but not worth dropping a star over. I also had read the reviews before purchase, and although there were a few forum posts here and there that suggested you could do [this thing], I went into it with the idea that I may not be able to, so it would not be fair for me to drop a star for this, as my expectations were already set before purchase. It's missing a vital feature, that as I can see in reviews here, and everywhere else... Verified that as of this date (7/15/2020) YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE CASE LEDs. That front emblem and "V"-shaped lights underneath? Yeah...can't turn em off. They are forever bright red. Even though every single one of the other Omen builds have the option to control case lighting, this one does not. So if you live in a studio apartment or you're going to have the computer in your bedroom, AND you're bothered by lights when you sleep, AND you leave your computer running processes over night (such as rendering, or AFK gaming), then you're going to have to get creative with the LEDs or pick a different computer. You can easily open the case and unplug the LED's to leave them off long-term. Every cable is labelled, so it's easy to find the two or three tagged wires for these lights. However...people shouldn't have to do this for such a simple feature. Plus, I like the lights during the day, so I don't want them off permanently by unplugging them. I'm going to look into potential case light switches/boards, to see if I can setup some kind of external switch for them. HP, You obviously have the capability of controlling case lights with software, as you have done it in your other builds, and this particular model (judging by the reviews) has had this requested time and time again for -years-. UPDATE THE MODEL TO ALLOW FOR CASE-LIGHTING CONTROL ... Outside of that? Perfect computer in my opinion, especially for the price. One of the few times that buying a prebuilt model beats building your own, as a computer comparable to this, if you were to build it yourself, would be marginally more expensive. Normally it's the other way around! Will be back in a few months to review longevity ... show more

  • Made for gaming at the highest level.
Style: i7-9700K Processor | RTX 2080 Ti 11GB
I’ll keep it quick and easy for those of you that are on the fence. Between price and performance, it is worth every penny. I purchased the RTX 2080 TI version with i7 9700 and 16gb ram. Running it on a 1440p monitor with 144hz, Gsync, and IPS (the best performance monitor you can get before 144hz 4k). It’s a match made in heaven. I run various high stress games at 90+ FPS at highest graphics and never overheat. The liquid cooling is incredibly silent, and the computer is sturdy and made from great material. There’s a side window which shows a beautiful display of hardware and a customizable graphics card lighting display. This is the computer you want - it’s built for gaming. It doesn’t have an i9 because it’s borderline useless for gamers, cutting down the cost substantially. The dedicated 11gb ram is never at capacity, normally running at 8gb during my most strenuous play sessions. The Omen software counter allows for smart overclocking at the press of a button for people who are uncomfortable doing it themselves. Definitely an A+ ... show more

  • PUBG Gaming - don't buy
Style: i7-9700K Processor | RTX 2080 Ti 11GB
My initial experience was very disappointing, this system has graphics bottlenecks. FPS very low for a 2080ti FPS improved by installing Precision X1 so I could control fan speed and keep the GPU cool. By default HP prefers quiet over performance. Really? It's sold as a gaming PC, what are HP thinking? Secondly, I upgraded the RAM to 32 GB. Instant GPU/FPS improvement, but still not at the peak you would expect from a 2080ti. So I assume the motherboard is another bottleneck. Lastly my new RAM runs at 3600mhz, however HP doesn't support anything above 2666mhz. HP help desk was very unhelpful and matter of fact, to the point of rudeness "so what?" Again, it is sold as a gaming PC, what are HP thinking? If you are a gamer, I would not recommend, this PC feels very second best even after installing software to improve cooling and spending coin to gain additional FP. This will be last HP purchase E V E R. Hope my review helps others, cheers all. ... show more
