  • Nice watch but smaller than expected
It's a very nice watch but the strap that comes with the watch is not that wide (changing the strap could be an option). I expected a slighly bigger watch. It looks best on someone with a medium to small size wrist. Other than that, the watch looks and works great, and it's light. If you buy it to impress the ladies...well, it does not draw too much attention. In other words, it's not flashy, which is something I very much prefer. ... show more

  • One of the world's greatest watches - just not this watch!
Arrrg! What was I thinking? (I am wearing the darn thing - how did I not see the dial?) I will transfer ths review to the other watch and I offer a tip-o-the-hat and thanks to the fellow watch hound who caught my mistake. The Omega Speedmaster professional wristwatch didn't start out life as the watch that went to the moon, it had to earn that title. NASA tested three chronographs and the Omega was the winner because it took a licking and kept on... Sorry! actually, there are several reasons why this watch won. First, it really is rugged, shock and waterproof. Next, it is NOT self winding - you have to do that by hand like the good old days. (There's no gravity in space so self winding won't keep the watch running.) Finally, the crystal is plastic. Glass was seen as too dangerous for the inside of a space capsule. This model has been in the Omega line for decades because it's one heck of a great watch. It's big and chunky (the current fad) but comfortable enough for every day. It keeps superb time for a mechanical watch. It's a chronograph so you have a stop watch to time a parking meter or your next LEM docking attempt. I do have two small gripes. One, there is no "hack" feature - i.e., the second hand doesn't stop when you pull out the stem. If it did, you could set it with the beep on the radio for the exact time. Second, there is no date. Yeah, for a moon watch, does it need a date? At my age, I need a date because I'm not going to the moon. If you love watches and want to own one of the world's greatest timepieces, clearly, this is one of a tiny handful of classic, collectable watches. ... show more

  • The real review of this watch
The review from Dom Miliano is for the moon watch, which is similar to this model but less expensive and has less features. I do own this watch and like it very much but do have a few reservations. This watch is a bit heavy due to the big case and crystal glass. Sometimes, I can't put it down over the weekend and expect the watch to still be ticking on Monday morning. This depends on how much I manange to auto-wind the spring during the week. For the good points, the watch has a cool James Bond factor that Tag Hauers can't match. On a side note, Tag has come out with a very similar looking watch even with a duplicate band called the "Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono." I guess the best compliment is to copy Omega's design. The inside of the crystal has a anti-reflective coating so there is not a lot of glare when you look at the face. There is a calender feature on the 12 o'clock position dial that shows the day of week, month and the day of the month on the dial itself. The best thing about this watch is that it is very accurate. I am the type that sets watches to the second and this one needs an adjustment once every few months. If you are looking for an automatic winding watch with a stopwatch, professional look but not over the top, this is the watch to get. Omega, there is no substitute. ... show more

  • Correction to the previous review?
Dom, I do not have this watch, but if you are talking about this particular model: 3520.50, there is date dial, it's the outer circle of the inner dial, on the edge of the time dial, it's from 1 to 31, it must be the date.
