Pricey, but an incredible lens. I had the 100-400 mk1, but was never really happy with it (and there wasn't full sync IS with it). This doesn't have the same reach, but is actually a superb wildlife/nature/travel lens. I just took it to Antarctica and it never left my OM-1. I have the 1.4 and 2x TC, and with he 1.4 you don't even notice a change (other than it being F4). The 2X is still about as good a quality as the 100-400 was. The weather sealing is superb, especially since it is an internal zoom. It got snowed on quite a bit and there were never an issues. The lens hood is perfect as it kept the glass clear. It is superbly sharp wide open and can actually achieve quite a nice bokeh. For photographing anything other than small song birds it worked beautifully. The 1.4TC adds reach without really losing any quality. It is lightweight for what it is (which is why I went with m43 in the first place). I wish the lens foot was slightly taller (more clearance) to use it as a handle better, but otherwise I really have no complaints (other than wishing it was cheaper). ... show more
