  • Works great in getting more life and better cuts on my band saw...
I've used this lubricant for a long time on my band saws, just restocking...

  • Good product.
Purchased for metal fabrication off all types. Steel and aluminum etc... Does reduce friction and heat. Lost a star because they are on the hard side so it is hard to apply to a cold blade until it is heated up. Not easy to apply to drill bits. The material hardness does allow them to withstanding rough handling by my employees. I also have a softer wax crayon from old ham used for applications like drilling or wood cutting and must be handled with care or it can get messy. Bottom line, these do a good job and last longer than I was expecting them too. In my opinion they should offer a softer compound in addition to these. I will buy again. ... show more

  • Very Handy
Update 12/4/24: Been using for 4 years in my home shop and works very nice. I prefer it over other waxes that my employers have on hand because unlike those, this is a fairly rigid stick that you just slide out of it's tube and put into contact with the blade, drill or end mill. The other waxes are either soft or crumbly and are a nuisance and more risky to use. Like many have mentioned, that it's just wax. It's in a cylindrical tube and easy to use, occasionally rub it on the saw blade while it's cutting. Helps eliminate the need for coolant when cutting metal for less of a mess. Also, use on hand saws and hacksaws plus on screws especially when driving through wood. also works on wooden drawer slides. Almost anything that you need a semi-solid lubricant for. ... show more

  • Like it
As a retired 55 year machinist, I volunteer at our high school machine shop class. They were using a cat food can with cutting oil and acid brush.. It kept being knocked over and spilled so I bought and donated these to the class. Much better. When they wear out I will replace them.

  • It's wax, folks
It's wax to lubricate your saw blade. This makes for quieter and smoother saw cuts. It comes as a stick - a lot of stick. There's three sub categories on which to give one to five stars: Sheerness, Warmth & Thickness. It's a stick of wax. Of the three categories, thickness is about the only one that applies so Sheerness & Warmth each were given 3 stars. How about Price, Amount, Value, Convenience as sub categories? Price: right. 5 stars. Amount: large/wide. 5 stars Value: overpriced for just wax but convenient to put into the tool box. 5 stars Convenience: packages perfectly. 5 stars ... show more

  • Gummed up bandsaw blade
I don't know if I was doing it wrong, but I applied it to my 3/4" ripping bandsaw blade and ripped some pine. The wax seemed to melt and then mix with the sawdust that then got compressed onto the blade by the rollers. It was incredibly hard when it cooled. I had to scrape it off with a razor blade. Too bad I missed my return window. ... show more

  • Works well.
I use this lubricant mostly while I am using a hand fret saw. I cut off approximately a three-inch piece and keep it nearby while I use my fret saw to cut metal, wood, or plastic.
