I love, LOVE my dresses from Torrid, and this surplice top floral beauty is my new favorite!! It is seriously one of the most flattering dresses I have ever worn, the way it's fitted and the way it drapes makes me feel so beautiful. I'm a very "apple shaped" woman. I'm tall, I wear pants that are 10/12/14, but my tops I need to be 2X (not XXL), 18/20, and dresses 18/20/22 (depending on the brand). At torrid I'm pretty consistently a 2 in shirts and a 1 in dresses. I got this dress in a 1, and it's absolutely perfect. Since I have that apple shape, I know that surplice and V necks look more flattering on me, but empire waist dresses can make me look...well, like I'm "expecting." But since this is a surplice top, it drapes beautifully, and the fabric flows naturally into the higher waist, and the lines are super flattering. I'm not sure how they got the skirt to drape the way they did, but it skims over my tummy and flares out around the bottom, totally balancing out my silhouette. It's not quite super-maxi length on me, it's a little above my ankles, but I'm okay with that, considering how it looks! Of course it has pockets, because it's Torrid, and we love that! The ruffles give it a sweetness that isn't overwhelming or obnoxious, and they don't get in the way (which I appreciate!) I wish I could get this dress in multiple colors and patterns, because I seriously feel amazing in it. I can't recommend it enough!! ... show more

Love the look, love the fit, don't find it too short. Look great in it. The color and design is lovely. The only downside is the value here, the price is higher than expected.
