I have used pressure cookers for 50 years, including electric ones since the 1990s. Pressure cookers are fantastic devices for so many reasons, from vitamin and taste retention to cooking speed to energy savings. This pressure cooker is a true value, and it seems to be built as well as other electric pressure cookers that I have used. It appears to be aimed at a different market than the US market, but it still has many of the extra features, such as sauté, slow cook, and yogurt making. It does not have a manual pressure-cook option, which is common on many pressure cookers, but you can mostly get around that by selecting a preset and adjusting the time. The shortest time that you can set for pressure cooking is 3 minutes, which should cover just about anything except some soft vegetables. However, you could run the cooker for 3 minutes and hit cancel after 1 minute to achieve the same result. Honestly, I mostly cook vegetables on the stove or in the microwave, so I'll never have to do this fix. I use the pressure cooker for other foods like rice, soups, stews, and pot roasts. Why? Because this is where a pressure cooker excels. This 3-quart size is perfect for cooking for 1 or 2 or for a side dish. It complements a 6-quart unit to speed up dinner time preparations for larger families. I stated above that the lack of a dedicated manual pressure-cook button is not a problem, and I also said the price was fantastic. So what is my concern? This cooker uses a somewhat unique sealing ring common to some Chinese-branded cookers. It is 17 or 17.5 cm (inner diameter) and uses 4 tabs to secure it to the lid. I could not find anywhere how to buy this particular sealing ring. Sealing rings can go bad, but they can also last a very long time. My 6-quart pressure cooker is around 8 years old, and I'm still using the same sealing ring. However, I really take care of it. Will the sealing ring in the Olixis last that long? I can't say. I do have an email in to their customer service to see where I can purchase an extra or two; so far, no reply. Beyond the sealing ring issue, this cooker is an outstanding value. ... show more

Having to return steam valve not working correctly tried to get a hold of customer service but every time I called it was voicemail and the voice mailbox was full so give me no choice to to try to get it fixed or get sent a new one so I had to return
