A bit thin but they work! I just have to hold them very tight so the mouse doesn't slip out. I'm used to use hemostats to feed my snake but these were so pretty. My daughter has her very own snake and we're all about the cute supplies 😊 I'd recommend but not for large rodents or rats. They wouldn't hold well. ... show more

    • Lets me feed my skink without worrying about hurting his teeth
I've been using these reptile feeding tongs for a while now, and I'm very satisfied with them. My pet fire skink, Rudy, gets a bit too excited about food, and will end up chomping my fingers when I hand feed him insects. Usually, this leads to me just feeding him from a bowl, but I do enjoy the bonding experience and socialization he receives from being fed more directly. I've used other tongs in the past, but because of how excited he gets about food, I worry about him hurting his little teeth biting down on the metal. These tongs ended up being a great solution, because the rubber tips are much gentler on his mouth. So far, these tongs seem to be holding up well to frequent use. The slanted pair gets a lot more use, because I feel that the shape makes it a bit easier to angle the food down to him. They aren't the longest pair of tongs, but Rudy comes right up to the front of his enclosure to be fed, so they work great for that distance. I'd say that mealworms slip out of the grip a little bit easier than metal tongs with teeth, but they grip relatively well as long as you use enough pressure. Overall, I'd say the value is quite good. They feel sturdy, have a pretty coloration, and are a nice size for feeding medium-small reptiles such as fire skinks, leopard geckos, and bearded dragons. I've also used them to feed my white's tree frogs on occasion, and they worked well for that too. ... show more

Well-made tongs for feeding insects to my spiders. The rubber grips help to keep mealworms from sliding, with much less risk of squishing them by accident.
