This flashlight is a chonky beast! Despite its diminutive form factor, it weighs in at a HEFTY 1 pound, 10 3/4 ounces. While it is very short (5 1/2" tall), it is very thick. You can see from my photo that it is about the same diameter as a typical 12-ounce energy drink can. While this makes for uncomfortable sustained carrying, it gives you an absurdly bright light that can STAY bright much longer than most others on the market. For example, it can stay in its 14,000-lumen flood mode (max output) for 10 minutes before reducing to a lower power level (power levels and durations are all thoughtfully listed in the instruction manual). I generally keep mine on power level "5" for the full 45 to 60 minutes (each way) of my daily 7-mile walk. Probably the biggest advantage I've noted while using this as opposed to all other flashlights is how much sooner and more consistently motorists notice me. I'm very careful to aim the beam away from traffic, of course, but this safety advantage alone is worth the purchase price. The included 35-watt charger is a very useful item as well. The knit lanyard, though, seems like a complete miss based on the weight of the flashlight. This flashlight gets VERY warm in maximum power mode, but doesn't get noticeably warm at anything other than the highest output setting. The ability to switch instantly between "flood" and "spot" mode with the flick of a dedicated slider switch, as well as to toggle between full power and reduced power with a double-click of the power button makes for a great user experience.

Amazon prime days enticed to get this flashlight (and a ms32 (yes, I have a flashlight problem (it runs in the family))). This is a incredibly solid, hefty and precisely machined device. If I was a flashlight engineer or whatever profession makes this thing I would be incredibly proud of this device. In addition to being a flawlessly machined product it has precisely controllable light output AND is formidable power bank for USB devices (phones, etc). I'm not going to get all "zen and the art of motorcycle" madness on you, but it feels like a handful of quality. Also, don't turn it on aimed at your face no matter how good an idea it seems to be at the time.

I own a number of Olight products, all of which are of very good quality and operate as advertised therefore when I saw this Marauder 2 at a steep discount I just couldn’t resist. It’s very compact and rechargeable by cable. It is very heavy in the hand. There’s a flip switch which changes the beam from wide to narrow but also reduces the light output. There is one thing which I’m not sure whether to call it a pro or a con. Once the light is off for a short while you must do a little twist with the beam intensity ring in order to be able to press the on button and turn it on. If you don’t, you can press all you want but it won’t turn on. This is a good safety feature but also impedes your ability to turn it on quickly. There’s another pro/con which I’ve found to be an annoyance. The flashlight has a proximity sensor which in my opinion is too sensitive. If you are within a foot or so on the sides and about 2 feet in front of the device, the proximity sensor cuts the light output down to the minimum. I could see it being useful if the distances were a third of those but they are being very overly cautious. Additionally, even without the proximity sensor kicking in, the light output is automatically reduced within a short time if you start it in any of the higher modes

We recently moved out into the country. Our property is not lit very well, if the moon is not out there is no light at all. We bought some Nite Ize light up collars for our dogs, but it is nice to be able to light up the whole property to make sure our dogs are safe at night. This is small enough to fit into a coat pocket, though it does have some heft. I really enjoy the design and have used it everyday for the last 2 weeks. Beast of a light. Some have complained about the spotlight being a square. I don't mind it. It works very well and the throw distance on the light is insane. I love it!

Got this for the smoky mountains. Didn't use the spotlight much since trees were too close for it to make sense (would be great in a field, if pointing at another mountain, or if in a watch tower). But the throw light was amazing. Might as well be day in front of me, even my peripheral was fully lit. It last a good 10-15 minutes maybe on full power before it steps down from overheating. I never did it myself but more intrigued/power hungry friends kept it on full plast and enjoyed using spotlight mode pointing to the sky as a giant lightsaber (even on non smoky days it was very visible). From the balcony of the retreat I was in, it was quite amazing how much of the mountain lit up when I pointed it over the edge. Forget bringing a flashlight out with you to look out for bears when moving between cabins, this thing covered all 3 buildings and the roads connecting them. Quite impressive for its size
