I recently got blonde highlights for the first time and I noticed that the damage changed the texture of my hair. My hair no longer felt soft and smooth. When I curled it (with heat), the curls would fall faster than they used to and become more of a frizzy wave. I even straightened it, and within a few hours, my hair developed a bit of a frizzy wave again. No matter how I styled it, it would revert back towards that texture and it started reminding me of straw. I thought, if this is the price I have to pay for going blonde, it’s not worth it. I want soft, manageable hair that feels and looks healthy. Reddit led me to Olaplex No. 3, and I went for it. What can I say? It WORKS. First of all, I was nervous about possibly receiving a knock-off product. I believe that what I received is genuine, based on the results I have gotten thus far. I ordered this after I severely damaged my hair through bleaching. Certain sections of my hair literally felt like gum. I knew if I combed through those sections, the hair would literally break right off, and some of it did!. I panicked but did some research and ordered this product. I read other reviews/instructions and here is how I used it. 1. Wash your hair very gently (because it is already presumably damaged, like mine was) to get rid of any product build-up and oil. The olaplex needs to be able to penetrate the hair, so your hair should have NO PRODUCT of any kind in it when you apply the olaplex. If your hair is clean, just rinse it so that it is wet. Do not use conditioner, leave-in conditioner, or any oils. Just wash it and rinse out the soap with water. (My hair is already so damaged that I don't like the idea of washing before AND after, but it is necessary with this product. So when I wash before applying the olaplex, I will wet my hair in the shower, apply a little sulfate-free natural type shampoo onto the actual hair--whereas when I usually wash, I concentrate on the scalp and just let the suds fall down the length of the hair--and gentle suds the product, then rinse with water. I do this to just get the build-up off because when I rinse out the olaplex, I will wash it properly and I do not apply any olaplex directly on my scalp or roots. This is just another step I take to try to preserve what hair health I have left.) 2. Towel dry very gently so that it is damp, not soaking. 3. Concentrate the product where you have the most damage. Once you have saturated those areas of your hair, put a little on the rest, and gently comb through. 4. Immediately put on a plastic shower cap to keep the product from drying out. Also, this helps use the natural heat from your body to (presumably) assist the olaplex in penetrating your hair. 5. Sleep on it! I leave it on for 12 hours at a time. 6. In the morning, rinse out the olaplex, wash your hair, and then use a good conditioner. I did this twice, then did a variation where I did steps 1-6 above, but after applying the olaplex and before applying the shower cap, I also applied a hair mask over top, slept on it for about 11 hours, and finished up the steps as written above. (This is my variation on getting the best results, so be sure to adapt this to what works best for you.) The directions say to use this 2-3 times per week for severely damaged hair. I have used this three times so far and cannot believe the results. My hair is nowhere near 100% healthy, but the areas that felt gummy now either do not feel gummy at all, or are about 75% improved. I am pretty sure that if I did not purchase this, I would be sporting a pixie cut right now. I plan to continue using the olaplex 2-3 times per week and eventually drop the frequency when I feel my hair is healthy enough to do so. I've read some reviews complaining about the cost of this product, and it is no doubt pricey. For me, it has been 100% worth it because my hair was literally about to fall off if the wind blew too hard. I am so grateful to have saved it. After 3 applications, I have barely made a dent in the product. I would estimate that I've used maybe 10% of the product? Maybe 15%. My hair would be categorized as long, it is past my shoulders by several inches (but not super long, like not down to my waist or anything.) Other reviewers have pointed out that this is NOT a hair mask or deep conditioner, and it is not. My hair does appear shinier after using it, and it may be softer, but it is in a way that it feels healthier. Your hair will not feel like you just used a hair mask/deep conditioner. It will feel stronger, less frizzy, more manageable, and I have also noticed that what breakage I do have from the bleaching is not noticeable because those hairs are more weighed down (does that make sense?) Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. I was skeptical, reading all of these reviews stating that this was THE MIRACLE product, but I am sold on it now. I will continue to use the product and update this review if needed. I would say that if your hair is severely damaged, the price is worth it, and the product does exactly what it claims to do.

After purchasing and trying olaplex no 3 complete repair treatment I am surprised that it works better than anticipated. It has plain black and white packaging but the formula is impressive. I have been using it short term so far for 2 weeks, and have noticed an improvement in my overall hair breakage condition and texture. It’s helped control my fly away pieces and my hair just looks better than it did using my previous mid price level treatments. It made my hair more manageable in a short time of using. It is fairly pricey, however a nickel size amount is all I need for shoulder length hair weekly. It has a pleasant fragrance but isn’t overly scented. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I give it a nine out of ten. My only complaint is the price is higher than mid range hair products but I Highly recommend! *Update two months* Still loving this product from Olaplex. My hair has less breakage, has improved greatly. It feels healthier and looks healthier too. My only complaint is that it does seem to weigh down my hair a bit. No bad, no film but it doesn’t feel as light as without using it. Using weekly now and worth the repair and maintenance value.

I have historically had a lot of “volume” in my hair (according to others). My hair was “thick” but had a lot of frizz and what felt to me like dryness. For this, I started using the Redken system, and experienced significant results, but nothing like this. I added Olaplex to my routine once a week, using the whole Olaplex system (No. 0, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 7) I have seen substantial—and honestly, shocking—improvement. The FIRST TIME I used these products I blow dried my hair and my hair (which is normally very wavy and frizzy) took on the appearance of being straightened without using the flat iron. I was shocked. I didn’t realize how much damage was in my hair, even though I haven’t dyed it in years and maybe once every three months (or longer) flat iron it. I knew hair could get damage from sun and the just living, but never understood the extent of it until I tried Olaplex. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and soft. Absolutely amazing results.

all right, I purposely waited until I’ve been using this for a minute because sometimes the weather will be nice in my hair will look good and I will have nothing to do with the product. But it’s hot and humid outside so that has nothing to do with this. OK so I’m 40 years old and about 10 years ago I completely gave up on wearing my hair down because I live in Florida. I have very long brown kinda thick kinda curly.. almost to my butt. but not long with varying lengths of broken hair and the longest being a tiny bit in the back.. not calling out anyone.. mine is a blunt cut all around. it’s curly but not tight curls but not big open ones either. They are more like kinks than curls and they affect large amount of hair on each kink. Sorry if I’m not explaining as well.. I am not a hairdresser . I can get my hair to look straight and sleek via flat iron but the second the humidity hits… POOF… it starts just my scalp with these very intense, very stubborn kinks and as the day goes on, the whole thing gets kinkier, but I usually put it up by then because I can’t handle it frizzy. The opposite for the winter where it is like 50° or colder. Maybe even 60. As long as there’s not really much humidity. I remember as a kid in New Jersey I would straighten my hair in the winter and I would come home from school and it would still be straight. Every pic from then I have straight hair. Some people didn’t even know my hair was curly-ish. It would stay soft and silky and STRAIGHT. Now, just like magic, when I moved to Florida 25 years ago.. it hasn’t been straight outdoors since. I tried and I tried, but even if it started out cold that day going to school, I was somehow sweating on the drive home and you know my hair was in a ponytail by then with hairspray to tame down the frizz. Eventually, I literally just gave up and I truly love my ponytails like there’s a whole style to it and a slick back is such a vibe sometimes. The only downside is no one knows how long my hair truly is because it’s always somehow hidden (mainly because it will turn into a frizzy unruly ugly a$$ horse’s tail if I leave it). Also, even though my hair at this point in my life is virgin hair, it rarely feels soft to me. People will play with my ponytail sometimes if it’s down and say how soft it is, but I have no clue what they’re talking about. not even kidding. I’ve tried everything on top of everything. I’ve actually tried the olaplex 7… The yellow oil… But that honestly did nothing for the problem at all. I mean, perhaps it made it slightly less frizzy, but nothing noticeable to the point where it quickly got pushed back after trying it for like two bottles… Like six months of trying. This product has always been on my mind, but I try to tell myself that you can get a good product without spending a lot of money. However, I have not found that to be true with hair products so far. Nothing worked for me that I tried. I mean, sometimes the wow Dreamcoat will make my hair really really sleek but not consistently. And I also have this IGK thing in this price range but again nothing to write home about. I truly never found a product to control the frizz. Enter olaplex 3. I haven’t slept in hair mask yet, I’ve only wore it for about 20 minutes on towel dried hair with a shower cap in the shower while I’m shaving and what not. Then like the directions say I rinse it out and I shampoo and conditioner and sometimes I’ll put a tiny bit in, but not usually. Day one my hair was noticeably softer, but this could have been a placebo effect so I did not want to review it yet. I wanted to give it some time. I’m actually on my second bottle. I get about 10 uses per bottle. really depends how much you use. Less isn’t necessarily more, but you want to make sure all of your hair is sufficiently coated. I bring a bigger hand towel into the shower with me and I dry my hair with it prior to using this so that way my hair is as dry as possible and absorbs as much of this as possible. So I’ve been using it for about a month and a half and I have felt a big difference but obviously, my hair is still kinda frizzy so I still don’t wear it down especially not in June. however, when I wear my curly ponytail, which is basically just letting a ponytail air dry, my daughter asked me if I blew dry my hair dry that day because it was a lot less frizzy than usual. When I say she’s my biggest critic, I mean that in the most loving way. she obviously learned it from me because I don’t wanna walk outside with make up all jacked up and she knows that so she will tell me if something looks bad. Not to be a jerk but just because she knows I want to know. So for her to say that my hair looks softer tells me that it really does look softer. She’s also 15 so at the moment she’s way cooler than I could ever imagine being LOL so for me to get a unsolicited compliment is really a big deal🤣🤣 but in all seriousness that was a really big deal and I feel better because now I know it’s not in my head. It actually is softer. When someone else tells it to you, it makes it a lot more real than when you’re the only one seeing. I wanna make one thing clear that does make my hair particularly heavy like heavier than anything else I’ve ever used by far. If I’m being honest, I never truly understood what they meant when they said a product felt heavy until this. So I don’t get as many days between washes because I also oil my scalp. But it’s a small trade-off. oh and FYI I don’t know if I made this clear, but I am a white girl with European ancestry I’m just saying that because it truly makes a difference when you’re trying to explain your hair texture too people. K 18 to shame because I bought that on here and I’m pretty sure it was authentic and it did absolutely nothing for me. I wasn’t even going to bother buying this off some weird Chinese website because I knew I wouldn’t get an authentic product and technically here is not much safer but I feel like it actually is especially with things like this.. Do yourself a favor, though especially if you live with other women and don’t keep this in the bathroom because is an extremely small bottle and you don’t want to lose any of it, especially not to a child that doesn’t know the value of money!!

This is the holy grail of hair products. I am in my late 40s and have thin, dry, color damaged hair. My hair has been frizzy and I could only wear a ponytail and even in that it would become a tangled rat mess. I have tried 100s of dollars in products from Keratin hair treatments, Aveda products, Nexus, Pantene, Its a 10, blowouts EVERYTHING under the sun and nothing was working. I was ready to shave my head and start over. Then I found this and read soooo many reviews and said shoot all I have to lose is more money. So for my fine, thin, color/highlighted damaged hair I got the 4/5 shampoo and conditioner, weightless nourishing mask,#3 Bond building hair and the #9 Bond Protector. My hair is now SOOOFFFTTT, not frizzy even when it is humid out (I live in the desert) so not many humid days until recently. This is all in just 3 days!!! Day one I used the Shampoo and Hair mask with already noticeable difference, Day 2 and 3 I used only the shampoo and conditioner. I started with the small bottles at $30 each and I am so far very pleased and plan on once I run out getting the larger bottles. I will tell you that you need a very very small amount of shampoo, it goes a LONG ways. The conditioner maybe a nickel size amount as it also goes a long ways. When I first used this and was done rinsing my hair, it did not feel soft and I was thinking okay I am going to not have fun brushing my wet hair and it was going to be a waste of money. Boy I was fooled. even though my hair did not feel soft and slick after conditioning, the wet brush I use as always just glided thru my hair with such ease. I was like oh okay and then once I dried it I was completely shocked at the difference the first wash alone had made. There were no tangles and the entire day my hair has been smooth, soft and manageable! I say take your chance and get this product, I hope you are as happy as I am with this. I plan on tossing every other hair product away now that this is the only thing that genuinely works for my hair in a way that I have never experienced with a hair product before.
