  • Very decent reel, great price
Size: EPXT-30S, 160yds-10lb Style: High Speed, 6.0:1
Not too heavy, very smooth, very solid and has a good retrieve speed for things like spinner baits. Great reel for the price. Works, looks and feels very primium.

  • Know that it's small!! Great reel!
Size: EPXT-20, 110yds-6lb Style: Stadard Speed, 5.0:1
First thing to know is these are at least one size smaller than the name indicates. The 20 size is smaller than a Daiwa 1500. I bought it for crappie fishing knowing it was small and it's the perfect reel for panfish. It's darn smooth and the drag is consistently smooth. The body is sturdy and feels strong even at the reel foot which is key on these smaller reels. Line lay on mine was perfect. The oscillation is very slow so it works great with braid to reduce over wrapping on the spool and it makes for excellent casting. Slow gear ratio helps me with crappie. For $45 it's a winner. Bought the xt30 also now and it's the same. Awesome reel for the price. Super smooth and I really like how rigid the frame is while still being very light. I put 8lb stren magnathin on it on a 6'6" medium fast rod. Light enough to cast for crappie and plenty strong should the largemouth decide to bite. The technology is simply better than on the low priced small online manufacturers reels. ... show more

  • Great reel, punches above its price point!
Size: EXPT-40, 180yds-12lb Style: Stadard Speed, 5.0:1
Great reel. I started with the 30 size and since have bought 20 and 40. Have been using the 30 on a 7' 3-6kg rod, lots of fun fighting rat kingfish (undersized kingfish) which really puts the reel to the test! I like to work surface lures (walk the dog style) and jerkbaits, the retrieve is sufficient for these styles of fishing. Overall, smooth drag throughout the entire range , rigid body, excellent line lay and fairly light. Quite durable - has been dropped more times than I'd like and only has a few scuffs, no cracks. I'd say this goes toe to toe with the Shimano Nasci , but perhaps a little more rigid and definitely cheaper. 30 is a good size for the aforementioned rod, wouldn't go bigger or smaller. At this price point ($45) I can't think of a better reel. An upgrade on this reel would be Shimano Stradic ci4+ or any of the Daiwa zaion body reels. ... show more

  • Solid quality reel at this price point.
Size: EPXT-20, 110yds-6lb Style: Stadard Speed, 5.0:1
Really nice reel and excellent build quality at this price. Very solid. Fits my ultralight rod perfectly. Smooth operation and drag. Love the bail trip, just sounds right. Excellent quality. Love the reel so far and works great on trout with 4 lb test. Wish i could give 4.5 stars. Only removed 1 star b/c no audible drag. I like to hear a little when the drag goes out. There is a nice clicking sensation and very light sound bit can't hear on the river. ... show more

  • Great freshwater reel!
Size: EXPT-40S, 180yds-12lb Style: High Speed, 6.0:1
Operates incredibly smoothly. Have caught a bunch of small to midsize fish with it, paired with an im6 graphite spinning rod. The catfish was the first real test and the reel performed great. Drag was super smooth and easy to adjust as needed. Using with braided line without issue. Incredibly great value compared to other reels in the price range (at least for the sale price I paid). Fast retrieval speed on the model I bought lets me fish a great variety of lures. ... show more

  • outstanding caster, smooth
Size: EPXT-30, 160yds-10lb Style: Stadard Speed, 5.0:1
Plus: slow oscillation line lay means this one outcasts even a stradic ci4+ which I also fish, smooth retrieval, and solid solid bail snapback. Felt drag is adequate. This reel is so so good, I swapped out the drags with carbontex and drilled out the handle knob to swap in a machined aluminum knob. Drag now is super smooth and truly powerful. It's a micro saragosa sw now in that the drag pressure ramps up quickly and smoothly. My go to surf reel is the gosa sw6000 and the big + with the gosa is drag and the exact waterproof sealing of the stella sw. The only non solvable nit is the weight being on the heavier side but given it's price, no big deal. This reel in it's price category is way ahead of all it's competitors. Swap out the drag, this reel deserves it. Got the 30 size for $33 a while back. I used the epixor 30 on a daiwa presso ultralight landing stripers on the surf using sandcrabs on owner mutu light circle hooks. cool! ... show more

  • Great reel
Size: EXPT-40S, 180yds-12lb Style: High Speed, 6.0:1
I was able to use this for the winter steelhead run and it performed flawlessly. Handled fish well. Smooth consistent drag subdued fish up to 40" with no problems. Great reel that I would recommend to anyone.
