    • Line Counter Stopped Working After One Use

As the title says, the line counter stopped working after one use. The reel wasn't mistreated or dunked in water. Being the tinkerer I am, I opened the line counter mechanism up to see what the problem was. I could not determine, so I reassembled. Same issue. The reel is within the warranty period, but because I opened the reel, no warranty can be applied. I accept fault for opening. While I understand warranty policies like this, there was clearly an issue with the reel. I've had other companies warranty something like this or worse, as long as I was being honest with them. Nonetheless, I can't fault their warranty policy, but I'm not trusting Okuma again. FWIW, I've never had issues with Penn or Shimano and their excellent services, and never should have left them for this. ... show more
