  • Great grill for the dollar just needs some work in the computer
Style: Grill
This is a perfect grill if you are looking for a nice big grill. But with not a very high price tag. It would be five stars of you set it on a temperature and that is the temp the grill would actually be. Its not that big of a deal but they could spend a little more time on the computer on it and bump the price up to 700 and i still buy it. Best bang for your buck and great flavor off the grill ... show more

  • Definitely changed my thoughts on wood pellet grills.
Style: Grill
Loved the smoker, it’s a game changer. Grill doesn’t pull much energy if smoking all day. When assembling grill I recommend having the 2 people as suggested. I did not and did struggle putting it together, lifting the unit and whatnot. Make sure you clean after long smoking. I was very impressed with OK Joes smoker, but let’s see how long it lasts through the years. Then I’ll give another review. Cheers! ... show more

  • Grill fire
Style: Grill
Two grill fires and one ruined brisket. For most items it is great. Easy to use and good temperature management. For smoking briskets you will want to go with something else. The amount of fat on a brisket is too much for this grill. The Traeger that I owned had a flat stainless steel plate that directed the grease away from the fire. The Oklahoma Joe has a slide handle to change settings from sear to smoke that is supposed to close of the sear area in the center of the grill. It is fine for most goods but not brisket. I called customer support and their first question to me was “are you using all natural pellets?” I would have expected “you may need to clean the grill” which we had done recently and I had already eliminated. Call me what you will but when that was the first question from their support line for a grease fire I realized I hadn’t purchased a grill from a company that doesn’t have a clue or just doesn’t train properly. I will be taking this grill to the curb or hiving it away and going back to Traeger. ... show more

  • This grill is awsome
Style: Grill
I researched quite a bit before buying this grill. For Size, quality and capability, I think this thing outshines all of the rest. over 1200 square inches of cooking space! That's almost twice what other grills offer. The setup was easy, but watch out, this grill is heavy. If you aren't used to hauling over 200 lbs of equipment around, I'd invite a friend over! Took me about 45 minutes by myself and the instructions are spot on. Initial use/setup is easy and I especially like the SEARING feature in the center. You can cook steaks like a professional with the temperature in that area reaching almost 600 degrees (another feature you don't find on other pellet grills). ... show more

  • Not the Reliable Company you think they are.
Style: Grill
I purchased my Oklahoma Joe deluxe top of the line pellet grill last October. Paid 40 to 60% more for this unit than I could have bought other pellet grills. The first three times I cooked on the grill it worked as advertised. Then the problems started. Please keep in mind this is not my first pellet grill. I had a Camp Stove pellet grill for 4 years before I bought the Oklahoma Joe. I cooked on that unit an average of once a week and never had any problems, none. The Oklahoma joe I have worked on 6 times and still not fixed.. pure Junk, do not make the mistake I made. Auger stops in the middle of Cooking, or it starts popping when you first start it up to cook. Then it gives a code 5. They sent me a motor, auger housing, temperature probe, control panel, dump gates, shear pins, gaskets, and dump handle over a period of 6 months. The people in support will take your call but are very limited to what they can do to actually fix the problems. The problems were designed and built into the grill and all they can do is send you another part with the same problem designed into it. Here I am referring to the auger motor that is currently out of stock from Oklahoma Joe. The same motor that has failed on my grill 2 times in the last 5 months and obviously failed on other grills also ( hence the problem of not having a replacement part in stock). These auger motors have a reduction box with a series of PLASTIC gears in the box. (The only purpose of the box is to simply increase the torque going to the auger. The only reason I can find for using plastic gears is cutting cost) auger motors with metal gears are available at a price point of less than 1% of the price of the grill! Hey Charbroil, I did not buy this grill because it was the cheapest pellet grill, I bought it because of what I perceived as being one of the best. Now I learn last last week they introduced their new series 2 grill only 2 months after I bought mine in October. The upgraded grill boast a new high torque motor and pellet delivery system along with a dual temp probe to better control the temp that supports my contention these people knew these problems existed and continued to ship new grills that were suppose to be top of the line to unsuspecting customers. On going design problems from the past that they were all aware of and obviously no way or ambition to correct them. I am really tired of working on this grill and have absolutely NO Confidence in this grill at all. I have totally disassembled this unit 5 or 6 times with repetitive failures. Don’t let the name Oklahoma Joe fool you, when you need service you talk to people in Mexico, and all replacement parts I received are from China. Last week they offered me one of the new style grills they introduced in January 2022 and claim had upgrades to cover all the ongoing problems we have. I thought they were finally getting close to doing the right thing, finally. I was told I would have to pay for the use of my grill ( 3 bags of pellets total use) and the price increase on the new grill. This sounds fair but I need to see the numbers first and SEE the Upgrades to the problem areas next. They then called back and told me if I would buy a new model for $995.00 they would send me a check for $250.00 for mine… based on these numbers, my cost for cooking 1 rib eye, 8 New York strips, 1 brisket, 12 hamburgers and 1 8 lb Boston Butt… $749.00 … this does not include the chicken wings, whole chicken and pork chops we threw out when the grill just shut down in the middle of the cooking cycle..or the 3/ 20 LB bags of Traeger Hickory Chips the grill burned, in total, while I have owned it! What do y’all think, is this fair? ... show more
