The seller responded to a bad review and negotiated the provision of an entirely different unit in an effort to make amends. The seller sent a unit that far outclasses the initial device. The new unit, a bore scope model WH7/WH8 in the photo, shows a much clearer and sharper image through a cellular telephone as it sends the image via WiFi. The scope is long and flexible and can get into impossibly tight spaces to send a very clear image of what is happening in that space. There are some shortcomings. The battery lasts only a few minutes before the unit shuts down even after an extended charge. The scope's camera head gets very hot as it illuminates and sends a picture of the space being photographed. There is no telling how long this device will last if the head overheats over time. Also, the device sends an SSID for connection to a cellular telephone's WiFi receiver and that connection is tricky to achieve. One must shut down the phone's WiFi and find the SSID of this device and launch an app downloaded from an app store to see a picture. The seller's agent was a person named Jennifer. She was very kind and patient in setting up the replacement. Though she continued contact me on and on, I had to keep assuring her I was on it, and I was testing the unit rather thoroughly. I would encourage the buyer to choose this new bore scope and not the prior one which was very bad. The new unit is not cheap junk, but the short duration battery and the overheating camera head on the probe do not inspire thoughts of long term reliability. In fact, the unit could fail prematurely given how hot that probe gets.

Bought this for a boresight to inspect a collection of firearms. While it's out in the open with ample light, it's fantastic. Focus has a little to be desired. Minimum focal length out in the open seems to be about 3/4-1 inch. Inside the barrel, focal seems to be nearly 2-3 inches. I was expecting something that stayed within the 1 inch focal length range. Out of the box battery was at 50 percent. Kind of expected that, so no big deal. Operation was pretty straight forward, as I was able to work my way through operation of the device without having to reference the fan fold 4 page manual. The camera cable was bent nearly a perfect 90 degrees at the USB connection into the controller/display. Initially thought I was going to have to return it. It straightened out, and no issues with operation. Did it do it's stated purpose? Yes. I was able to see the condition of the rifle bores very well. As I was gaining experience with what I was seeing, I was able to determine the condition of the barrel bores accurately. Was the picture clear? Inside the barrel within an inch of the camera the picture was fuzzy. After that it was clear. Will this last? Considering the tight bend in the cable, and how tightly the rest of the cable was wrapped, I suspect it will last for a while considering the kind of use I will put it to. If you don't take care of your equipment, it won't last. No matter how good it is, or how much money you spent on it. Is it worth the price? I'd have to say yes. What would make this scope even better? If they offered the cameras in the 5.5mm diameter range for the ability to interchange between the 3.9mm, and a 5.5mm cameras, that would make this an awesome scope.

Not sure it was totally new. Nice case and item is in heavy duty housing. I purchased this one for more money (compared to others) because of the overall less lens/light diameter to look inside a few violins. Light end when first turned on became very warm. The brightness may have dimmed as the battery drained. I snapped a few decent photos with it. Slide buttons seem a bit flimsy but it’s working as intended. Came with a Micro SD and it will save photos there. HINT: Make sure USB is pushed ALL THE WAY IN.

The quality isn't great, but it's mostly good enough for its job, and I like having something that doesn't require an app or another device. That said, I've used this thing only a few times and the battery is already unable to charge fully and it just doesn't work anymore. It never held a charge like the seller advertised though; even new it would last maybe 20-30 minutes before needing recharging. The camera/lights get very very hot so there's a lot of power being burned off there. It's hard to believe as the time is flying by, but I bought this just over 2 years ago so I probably won't get any support. The battery is junk, though, and non-replaceable, so I probably wouldn't buy this again.

The only feature this item doesn't have that you MAY want, is a controllable head camera. Everything else is there. I bought this to inspect inside motorcycle engines without busting case halves, and it does exactly what I need. The camera cord is able to stay in place if bent slightly for specific angles. Photo and video can be saved on a memory card (not provided with purchase) and offers the ability to review/email results if necessary. The auto focus is not perfect, but works if you work with the unit a little bit. The case on the unit is rubberized for when you set it somewhere you think is stable then turns out not to be. There is a light on the tip with the camera. The supplied carrying case is also fairly rugged to protect your unit as it floats around in your toolbox or wherever. Previous to purchasing this unit, I tried the ones that hook up to your cell phone, and this a FAR superior product. The battery life lasted at least 6 months of just sitting and had no power degradation as far as I could tell. Charging is just as simple as any other USB powered product. If all you need is a simple borescope for basic observations in places a mirror just can't fit, get this product. I have yet to be disappointed.
