My one and only complaint is that the gap at the bottom of the lid that gives various opening sizes for various seed sizes is still too large to control really small seeds. Otherwise, it is a great tool, and I love having the option of setting up 5 different seed varieties at once. Perfect addition for seeding trays in my greenhouse.

seed dispenser allows for accuracy when planting seeds, especially small seeds such as carrots or turnips. makes thinning the seedlings much more easier. it works!

These seed sowers are a slight improvement over sowing by hand, mostly because you can set them down without having to wipe dozens of seeds off of your hand each time. Because seeds often have uneven shapes, they do not do a very good job of dispensing seeds in an orderly manner. Seeds that are smooth and mostly round work better. In all, these are a slight improvement on seeding by hand. If I were to do this again, I might use a dropper bottle with a cone-shaped tip (like a mustard bottle), and trim off enough of the tip that I could get a seed or two out each time.

Simple , cheap, solution to planting a lot of seeds. I don't have the best eyes and this really helps.. Another PLUS is that you don't have to touch the seeds and risk getting germs and molds on them. I make my seedling holes with the end of a chopstick or similar size to my seed beds, usually the 64 tray. then I load the server and drop one in each.. If I run out I put a toothpick where I left off. At the end I cover the seed tray with soil.

The whole point of this product is to control seeds that are difficult to sow by hand (small or otherwise awkward) so that too many do not come out at once. I dare say that I expected this product to be able to line up and dispense one seed at a time, in an orderly fashion. I ordered these because I have an old seeder that has no lid and wanted a new one with a working lid SO AS TO BETTER CONTROL SMALL SEEDS. These lids do not work, as they are not flush with the base, allowing seeds to slip past even when set to zero (0) which is the setting that has NO opening. If you are sowing anything smaller than a tomato seed, you will be doing so with great difficulty and frustration if you purchase these. The plastic is also extremely brittle and three of the seeders came with fractures in the lids. Only one of the lids was able to turn freely in its base without struggle or risk of breakage. Amazon is the real issue at the end of the day though, peddling cheap and poorly made products of all types - tantalizing the consumer with low pricing and convenient, efficient, delivery service.

Product as expected. This is great for very small seeds, like carrots, that you dont want too many to be plantedat once. This helps control the number of seeds to be planted, muh better than sprinkling the seeds out of the package or from your hand. There are 5 in this package, which is good because I am likely to misplace a few of them.

Wash the plastic dispenser before use to remove the static electricity. Out of the package, they have a serious static charge that will cause the seeds to stick inside the dispenser. Other than that, the dial-a-size feature is nice and works well. Seeds of irregular shape (like marigold seeds) will get stuck, so you will need to plant those by hand. Most other small "roundish" seeds will dispense just fine. These are a good value for the money.
