The tops are difficult to turn. The plastic is low quality and easy to break. One cracked rather easily but still functions. Could be made better with higher quality materials. I like the function of the product and will continue to keep using it. Works great for small seeds like lettuce.

Love the quality and quantity. The ease of use makes sowing all sizes of seeds effortless. No such thing as too many seeds in an area. The little intervals that the seeds slide down makes it easy to disperse seeds directly in the garden rows. The capability of turning the top to reduce or enlarge the opening is ideal. I work with individuals with developmental disability so I find these very helpful. With the price of seeds you want them to go a long way. ... show more

The whole point of this product is to control seeds that are difficult to sow by hand (small or otherwise awkward) so that too many do not come out at once. I dare say that I expected this product to be able to line up and dispense one seed at a time, in an orderly fashion. I ordered these because I have an old seeder that has no lid and wanted a new one with a working lid SO AS TO BETTER CONTROL SMALL SEEDS. These lids do not work, as they are not flush with the base, allowing seeds to slip past even when set to zero (0) which is the setting that has NO opening. If you are sowing anything smaller than a tomato seed, you will be doing so with great difficulty and frustration if you purchase these. The plastic is also extremely brittle and three of the seeders came with fractures in the lids. Only one of the lids was able to turn freely in its base without struggle or risk of breakage. Amazon is the real issue at the end of the day though, peddling cheap and poorly made products of all types - tantalizing the consumer with low pricing and convenient, efficient, delivery service. ... show more

    • Great for planting a lot of seeds
Simple , cheap, solution to planting a lot of seeds. I don't have the best eyes and this really helps.. Another PLUS is that you don't have to touch the seeds and risk getting germs and molds on them. I make my seedling holes with the end of a chopstick or similar size to my seed beds, usually the 64 tray. then I load the server and drop one in each.. If I run out I put a toothpick where I left off. At the end I cover the seed tray with soil. ... show more
