The case itself is strong and built well with 4 locking tabs! It will definitely serve its purpose for storage and hauling the 1301 to the range! My complaint, I asked for it to be shipped in discrete packaging, they did, but I think they threw the actual product box away and that was the box I needed! They shipped it loose in a way oversized box and I was unhappy with that! ... show more

This case is amazing. I typically use it transport my gun for hunts in my car. Has 4 holes to lock it, which is required in specific states. The foam is easy to cut and provides a ton of protection. I use this on my 26" maxus wingman 2 12 gauge, Savage Axis 2, and a few other guns. I would highly recommend this case. ... show more

The Good: 1. It's a big case. If I wanted to I could fit my rifle, my shotgun and a pistol or two along with ammo for everything in there. 2. It seems very sturdy. I've never flown anywhere for a hunting trip before. If I did, this is the kind of case I would want. I have two other Pelican cases. I accidentally dropped one loaded with about 75 pounds of mechanic's tools down a flight of metal stairs and it survived. The other has survived multiple trips as checked baggage on commercial airlines. The Bad: 1. It's heavy. I don't really need a monster case like this just to tote my rifle back-and-forth to the neighborhood gun range. The Ugly: 1. It's a big black heavy-duty plastic gun case. It's going to attract attention wherever you take it. 2. The bright orange trim is just unnecessary. I wish they had skipped that. ... show more
