We had a problem with sparrows nesting in the eaves, under the roof of our patio. Sparrows are noisy, messy and invasive. I have no problem with them nesting elsewhere in the yard, but I do not want them right above me. We needed something to deter them from nesting in the eaves. We found the Offo Bird spikes and thought that we would try them. They arrived quickly and were easy to install in our application. They are a sturdy rigid plastic that will stand up for years. We were able to just set the spikes up in the corners without drilling. They fit well on the narrow wall. The length of each row of spikes allow you to set them end to end where you need extra coverage. The effect was immediate! Not only did the attempts at nesting stop, but the birds left the area completely! No more noise or mess! We ordered the brown spikes to blend in better and unless you knew that they were there, you would never see them. Well worth the money spent. Yes, I would not hesitate to purchase these again.

I purchased these to keep raccoons off of my roof. They would get on top of my fence and then jump up. So I put the spikes on top of the fence. It did keep the raccoons off, but I started noticing spikes on the ground. I felt the spikes on the fence and they literally fell apart, totally. I live where it is very sunny and hot in the summer. It looks like the sun ate them up. Didn’t even last 4 months.

You may find this hard to believe. Last year I had a pigeon building a nest on top of my a/c. At first I thought it was fantastic. I watched daily...taking photos & video as well. She gave birth to 2 squabs. I knew I couldn't & wouldn't remove the nest & the 2 squabs so llet them be until about 2 months later they fledged. It was fine & dandy until I saw what the top of my a/c looked like & my a/c no longer worked. The entire summer without a/c. Unfortunately...they ruined my a/c & I was not amused. I wasn't going to let that happen again this year. I bought a new a/c along with 2 boxes of these bird spikes. A/c was installed & bird spikes were glued on top..under & on the cement windowsill on either side of the a/c. Two weeks ago...2 mourning doves were scouting out my a/c!!! I didn't know it until l opened the window & found under my a/c on top of the bird spikes a nest !! From another window I spotted the bird walking on top/in between the bird spikes. Sorry to say.. I wasn't dealing with this again and having my air conditioner ruined again, and I got rid of the nest and now it's been six days and no pigeons nor mourning doves. I did read that pigeons & mourning doves recognize your face. Now, every time I go out I’ll have to wear a Groucho Marx disguise to ward off birds from attacking me. I’m guessing it can be a replay of the movie, The Birds.
