We have a place in the woods of Northern Michigan where we have a well that's 190ft above the water table. A deep-well submersible pump supplies water to our getaway bungalow, and that water is very cold -- somewhere in the 40 - 45 degree range, year-round! We have a water heater for the kitchen and bathroom sinks & bathtub, but that frigid water also goes directly into the toilet tank, which is frequently quite busy when our family is up there, which is normally in warmer weather. The cold water refilling the tank when the ambient temperature is in the 70s or 80s is a recipe for condensation. The tank is always sweating and dripping onto the bathroom floor, requiring us to keep a towel wrapped around the base of the toilet to keep the floor dry. So I ordered this heater, which will be connected to an inexpensive temperature controller that will turn it on when the tank has been replenished with cold water. It should heat the fresh water to a reasonable ambient temperature in a few minutes to prevent the sweating problem! Won't be able to try it out until spring, but it's working well in a test in a container in my kitchen here at home. Ah, technology! ... show more
