  • Installation instructions suck
The instructions for this are worse then ikea instructions. Parts do not match the paperwork. In order to get these installed screws had to be glued so they don't swival when installing. We will see how this product holds up.. not going to lie they look good on my vechicle.

  • You get what you pay for.
This is comparable to many other "economical" non-OEM cross bars that I've seen on here. **First - the instructions indicate there are stickers on the cross bars to denote which is the front and rear bar.., there were NO stickers. That was annoying because I got it wrong on my first attempt. **Second - It does not mention to loosen the the smaller Allen button head screws underneath to allow the mounts to "float" in and out freely to seat in the mounting pockets naturally. **Third - If installing without side rails (using the clip bolts), IT IS TRICKY! When tightening down the lock nut, I thought I had it and wiggled the mount only for it to pop right off because the clip bolt must've barely engaged the metal strap on the vehicle. A few times the nut would tighten and then feel loose again because the mounting stud would spin within the body of the mounting clip. Extremely annoying. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! **Fourth - one of the blind rivets inside the cross bar was not compressed and would continue spinning and never tighten. I needed to get vice grips to carefully hold the body of the blind rivet in order to get the hardware tight. Overall - I was hoping I wasn't going to deal with these issues, but thankfully I work on industrial machinery and have an idea of proper fit and finish; nevertheless, WARNING to the inexperienced installer. It's not that this is an overly difficult installation; however, pay extra attention to how how this feels getting installed. If things don't feel tight, they're probably not. Remember, this is something you are attaching to your vehicle and driving at speeds of 65+ MPH, you want to make sure it's going to stay. With all this said, it took me a little over an hour to install, including the time it took me to figure out front and rear, get extra tools and remove and reinstall the mounting clips a few times because they didn't grab properly. Again, you get what you pay for. It was a challenge to my salvation but we made it and will probably perform as designed. ... show more
