  • A surprisingly sturdy budget paddle
I've been doing kayaking trips as a side gig since 2015. I've probably led 200+ trips out on the water since then. I have a few dozen kayaks and every year, that leaves me with a lot of maintenance and replacements I have to do for the stuff that breaks or wears out during the season. Paddles were a bit of a sore point at first, because I was replacing 5-8 per year, which gets expensive, until I figured out what to look for in a paddle and how to modify it to maximize service life. Right out of the box, this paddle is not only brightly colored, which makes it easily visible if someone is signaling for help, or if they drop it in the water. In that latter case, it's also nice that this paddle floats. Beyond that, the lockup between the two shaft sections is really solid, not much wobble at all. And the blades have a nice shape, that is partway between the very forgiving, rounded, spoon shaped paddles, and the more angular and aggressive whitewater shape. I like that too, because it allows for stronger whitewater paddlers to get more drive by using a high stroke, but is easy enough for beginners to get good speed out of a more basic low stroke. The blades are also pretty stiff and strong, not the type that's going to flex a lot. I've had some cheap paddles in the past where the blades were made out of cheap plastic, and they always break when you use them in cold water. These blades feel much more sturdy. So it definitely passes the initial quality test. Beyond that, I'll have to wait about 4-5 months until it gets warm again, to get these out on the water and give them a real test. If my opinion changes after that, I'll update. But for now, this seems like a really solid paddle at a very affordable price. ... show more

  • Poor range of blade angle adjustment
Wanted to try a little longer paddle on the cheap. Picked this one, mainly for being a color match for a vintage kayak. As a paddle it is fine. aluminum shaft, plastic blades, normal stuff. There is a hint of extra texture in the grip area. Only noticed as the shaft is machined smooth for the blades and the connection. That connection joint is where things are not that great. If you want a straight paddle (no twist of the blades) this is fine. If you like a little twist, you are not going to get it. There is an option to join the two halves together at a 60° angle. I find that angle rather excessive. And there is nothing except 0° and 60°. There is a third option, 60° twist the other way, pretty worthless. If you like a little twist in the blades, not this choice. If you are fine with a paddle with no twist, this will work just fine. The 2-piece is nice that it breaks down and makes storage and transport easier. And the joint is easy to to use, but not sloppy either. For a basic no-twist paddle, this works. ... show more

  • Good portable paddle option
This paddle is nice and sturdy. I like the 0 to 60 degree adjustability for different paddle techniques. A good drip ring is essential and these work well. I'm dropping the rating down one star because the poles have a seem close to my normal handle position and it's a little sharp. If not careful these seems could start to scrap up wet hands. ... show more

  • Great paddle! Perfect size for my paddle board!!
This paddle is a bit shorter (218 cm) than my regular kayak paddle (230 cm) which is perfect for my paddle board when I use the seat with it. It has all the standard features I look for, adjustable angle, ability to break down for travel and drip rings. Both paddles and handle are strong and ready for adventure. The color is vibrant and actually matches my paddle board which is a fun bonus. Price is great as well. ... show more

  • Great paddle, sturdy
This is better than i expected, sturdy and lightweight. Check the size, it's probably for smaller paddlers.

  • Nice turquoise, two piece paddle
These are really nice, I usually prefer a solid pole but these are so sturdy I can’t tell they are not. I also love that you have different offset options where the two pieces connect, makes padding much easier to have the blades at a different angles from one another. These also fit in my car so much easier than solid poles. Nice they offer different color options too, especially when you have a tandem kayak and two people that like their paddle at a different degree, it’s easy to tell who’s is who’s. Love the turquoise. Very nice paddle highly recommend ... show more
