I needed a cabinet to fill an empty corner in our kitchen eating area, and to conceal a cluster of TV and DVD player cords hanging down from our peninsula counter. This cabinet was my third choice, but it was the first one that arrived with just minimal damage/defects. It also didn't have a strong chemical odor like the other two I had ordered first, so I'm really relieved about that. Thankfully the few areas where paint was missing or chipped off of the white parts are on the inside of the cabinet and don't show. The only defect that's visible is in the wood-look vinyl panel on top of the cabinet. I didn't notice it until assembly was nearly complete and the light was shining just right, so I decided I'll have to live with it. I appears that the top was wiped with something during the manufacturing process that left a streaky residue that won't clean off. When the sun shines through nearby windows, I see an annoying cluster of smear lines. The attached picture doesn't fully capture how noticeable the smear lines are. Aside from this imperfection, I'm pretty happy with the cabinet so far. The inside area of the cabinet is spacious enough that I can store some extra things that didn't really have a proper home. The center shelf can be placed in one of three positions. I chose the center position, and I did notice that after opening and closing the doors just a few times, the screws behind the cabinet knobs had made dark spots on the side of the center shelf where they hit when the doors were closed. I decided to keep the shelf in the center, though, so I would have the same amount of space above and below the shelf. The drawers aren't overly spacious; they measure 13 5/8" wide (inside) by about 11 1/4" from front to back, and they're just under 5" deep. The bottom of the drawers are made of the same thin, glossy cardstock-like material that the back panels of the cabinet are made of. I lined the drawers right away in order to keep the bottom surfaces from scratching. I definitely won't be storing any heavy items inside the drawers, given their thin base. My husband did have to add washers to the screws behind the drawer handles, since the handles wiggled no matter how tight the screws were otherwise. The brown top of the cabinet is slightly darker than I hoped it would be (since my kitchen cabinets and table are oak), and the wood-look vinyl is a bit cheap looking. I think I would have preferred the top to match the rest of the cabinet. Speaking of which, the "white" color of the cabinet isn't actually a true white. It's more of an off white, or an eggshell color, so it isn't a perfect match against the white wood trim in my kitchen (which has been there for about 11 years and surely has aged some by now -- but it's still more white than the cabinet). It took my handyman husband close to 3 hours to assemble the cabinet with a standard phillips screwdriver, with my help in deciphering much of the picture-only directions and handing him the appropriate screws and parts. He had a hard time getting the cabinet doors in proper alignment, even though he's very experienced with this sort of thing. Thankfully he was eventually able to get them just right so I don't have to live with the door knobs being uneven with each other. Overall I think the cabinet is pretty, and I believe I'll be pleased with it and appreciate the extra storage space, even if it isn't perfect.

It is a nice piece of furniture for the price. It took me about 2 hours to put together. I have noticed a few people in the reviews have put the draw fronts on the wrong sides. I noticed because I did the same thing at first. They should shut flush with the front of the cabinet. If they don’t, just take them off and switch sides.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This cabinet has a horrible smell to it. I have had the drawers & doors open & windows in the room open and it is still there. I have no idea why it's there or what it is, but it is unbearable. I will not use it very sad. I can not return it because it's built and very heavy. Total lost for me.
