At this point, I'm the Goldilocks of flameless taper candles. I have now tried at least seven different brands. And, finally, this set of 8 candles from OCATO was just right. I am including this review for anyone else who is searching for the best budget-friendly flameless taper candles. First and foremost, the color of the flame is perfect. It's not too orange (I even tried a set which ending up having a pinkish orange color?!), and not too white/LED looking, but instead, it's a nice buttery soft yellow. Second, they have a smooth wax coating, rather than that kind of grainy strange "wax" (often with a lot of scratches/divots/rough lines) coating a lot of these brands have. They even have a somewhat realistic looking (from far away) drip/melt area around the top of the flame. Third, they have an 8-hour timer option and a remote. Some sets only have options for 4 and 6 hours - in the winter, it gets dark early. Why wouldn't I have my candles come on at 4 pm when the sun is setting?? I happen to be a night owl; if you're not, these candles also have a 2, 4, and 6-hour timer option. Fourth, they fit into most candelabra bases. I have a lot of antique brass wall sconces and other candle holders, and these candles fit into all of them very well. Finally, the flickering "candle" mode looks pretty decent. True, they all flicker in rhythmic sync with one other, which is unrealistic. And, no, they do not look as real as Luminaras. Nothing does. I have some Luminaras and I love them...however, let's face it, Luminaras are expensive. When you have a lot of windows to fill for Christmas, or various candelabras around the house, this OCATO set is a great budget-friendly option (and they come in an 8-pack, which is great, as many sets only contain 6). N.B. I am not including a picture, because the phone camera never gets the color right, and they look way different in person. I have found that many of the review pictures of these types of candles can look either better or worse than the candles ended up looking in person - so, I recommend trying them to make your own judgment.

So happy I picked this! It’s a better quality than I expected, they’re actually pretty sturdy. I dropped one from the top of a ladder and it didn’t break or crack and it still lights up. They come with fishing wire already attached and thumbtacks so that was nice! They’re so cute and the magic wand that turns them on and off completely brings out my inner child. They add the perfect magical touch to my Halloween decorations.Definitely one of my favorite decorations!

These floating candles looked fantastic and were a huge hit with the kids! They were easy to set up, looked great hanging from the ceiling, and really helped create the magical look we wanted. The kids absolutely them. They had so much fun using the wand to turn them on and off. We did a Harry Potter themed party and they looked amazing! I was very happy with how they turned out so I bought another set. I am keeping them up for Halloween 😂. Highly recommend!

Love this product! I’m really impressed by the quality and design. Everything worked just as advertised and it looks great! I put it up for a Harry Potter movie night, but it will probably be staying up for a few weeks because we all love playing with the wand and enjoying the aesthetic.

These are really cool! A couple of things to note... each candle requires a triple A battery. Also... the wand will control other LED lighting strips. I was testing it out as a horror film commercial was playing and the lighting in the room turned red 💀🤣 my partner was like "what is happening?!" Super excited to string these up and try em out :)

Real wax on the outside of the candle. Realistic flicker flame. Did not have to change the battery a single time all winter. Love the remote control that comes with them so you dont have to turn it on and off with the switch on the bottom of each candle. I used the remote to set a timer for them to come on at the same time each evening. One of my favorite purchases!!

2 hours later and I have 6 that will stay up for now…the tasks that come are flimsy and just bend or won’t go through. I grabbed my own thicker more durable ones but with the fishing wire they just slide and u have to gently wrap 6-7 times and then re wrap when it undoes itsself… I love decorating and thought these would be amazing but I don’t think it’s worth the time and neck ache, also very nervous of a tack falling out with little ones I don’t recommend…. And yep another one just slowly fell down… the lights seem almost too much to be held with them…
