This is a fantastic deal for embroidery floss. The quality of the thread is much better than what you typically find in the cheaper multi-packs at craft stores like Michael’s. I can’t speak to the high-end, name-brand threads since they’re outside the price range I’m willing to spend—but for anyone shopping in the budget-to-midrange category, this floss is a noticeable step up in quality. I’ve been using it for cross-stitching, and it’s worked beautifully—no fraying or excessive tangling, and the colors are vibrant and true. The finished embroidery looks clean and polished, with no visible signs that the thread came from a more affordable bulk pack. There’s also a wide variety of colors with many subtle shade differences, which makes it easy to find the right tone for your project. The skeins are easy to handle, and the thread pulls smoothly without knots or fuzzing. For the price, this is an excellent value. I liked it so much I even ordered the 200-count set for my mother, who does a lot of embroidery and cross-stitch. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was eager to make some summer friendship bracelets for friends and family, and needed a lot of embroidery floss quickly. This set has proved perfect for my needs. Value for money: The set is a phenomenal value for the price. You can easily pay the same for just a handful of skeins, while this set includes 50. I'm not sure if the quality is super premium, but it seems to be very good quality and would work for most home project applications. Color: It is truly a color explosion with a great range and variety of hues and tones to choose from. I especially like that there are bold colors and softer, muted ones. Usually I have seen sets that only have one or the other and have to buy both, whereas this set includes everything in one set.

The positives: Great variety of colors. There's a lot of each color, too, and would have suited my needs. I was hoping to make a few small amigurumi projects. This would have been well worth the money spent if the yarn had been of high quality. The negatives: In my opinion, the yarn is of inferior quality. It's thin and splits easily. Also, it's unforgiving. If you want to rip out a few stitches you've crocheted, you'll create damaged yarn, and it will be noticeable in the finished piece. I completed a project but don't want to use the rest of the yarn. I'd give it away, but I can't imagine anyone wanting this.
