Based on the barcodes which end in 10, these are most likely CXC threads. The manufacturer's photos show Tyche Special threads, but that is not what I received. I like stitching with CXC better, so I'm happy. These threads use the same numbering system as DMC, but they have different fiber content and slightly different colors. I have no problem mixing these threads with DMC in a project, as long it's not in the middle of a big color block. You will be able to see the difference in that case. You won't be able to notice on areas that are far away from each other. That's how subtle the color difference is. It's a little more noticeable when you just compare the unstitched skeins to each other. These threads stitch up very similarly to the floss that you get in stamped cross stitch kits. About the color difference: There are so many variables when it comes to dyelots. DMC changed the way they dye their floss in 1994 because there were new environmental regulations in place. If you have old threads in your stash, they aren't going to match floss that you just purchased in the craft store. In addition, exposure to bright store lighting can fade the floss. For all of these reasons, I'm not really worried about the slight color variance. You can search the internet for more information about the pros and cons of switching to a more affordable floss.

They are soft to touch, which should prevent any snags or knots in the thread. There is a great variety of colors to choose from for any project.

So many different colors! Each color comes with one skein, so if you have a larger project, this is more of a sampler and may not be for you. The Thread is of good quality. It's not as great as others you get in the craft store, but for the price, the quality is fair.

I am a novice at embroidery and all that fun stuff, so my experience with a lot of thread is limited. I do prefer to make repairs with embroidery thread often, and it worked just fine for that purpose (I darned a sock with it. The repair wasn’t great, but that’s just my skills.). In that repair, the main fabric was white, and the whole sock got washed, and there was no bleeding of color that I could see. It overall feels very similar to the thread that you get in more mass-produced cross stitch kits. It’s smooth and seems to go through the fabric fine, but it’s not anything overly special either. My only worry is that since there isn’t really a brand, that if you run out of a singular color it’s going to be really hard to color match. For me and my current skill level though, I would definitely recommend this thread pack.

Excellent quality embroidery thread, there’s a great variety of colors at an extremely reasonable price point. They are comparable to embroidery thread I previously bought from Micheal’s. There’s loads of uses for these, I will be trying my hand at bookbinding, but my mom is into cross stitch so she will probably be enjoying using these too!
