I'm not sure if it was a problem with the scanner or with my car (2006 Prius), but I was never able to get past the point where the scanner is on and says it's trying to connect to the car's computer. I repeated the procedure a few times, and the data connection always failed. I gave the scanner to a neighbor who is a mechanic. Maybe he can get it to work on a different car. UPDATE: Even though the problem may have been with the computer in my car, the seller went out of their way to address my situation, communicating with me several times. Since I had already given the scanner away, they couldn't help me with troubleshooting, so they offered a refund instead. Excellect customer service, well beyond my expectations. ... show more

recently added some system cleaner to the truck and shortly thereafter had the check engine come on, I am under warranty but decided to diagnose myself to see my result vs the dealer, this things was less than $25 and advised of an oxygen sensor issue, i was also worried about my 4 1/2 year old battery and this reads it as still over 1/2 of its life cycle. Since the truck was running fine i didn’t take it to the dealer and the error cleared in 2 days after i checked it. I’d buy it again! ... show more

I found the instrument very easy to start using. It found my Infiniti g37 error code and I was able to clear the code. Additionally I was able to take action to fix the error code.
