  • Outstanding sunglasses. Just wore out my first pair and bought a second.
Color: Matte Black/Dark Bronze Lens Width: 60 Millimeters
I'm writing this about my second pair of Crankshafts. The first pair lived a hard life for over four years and just wore out, and I didn't want to replace them with anything else. Extremely comfortable, light and durable, they stand up to mishaps (my first pair had a few) and just keep working. The earpiece hinge is an excellent design that just seems unlikely to wear out; if twisted, it just comes apart instead of breaking and can easily be pressed back into place. When the lenses get scratched, there are high-quality replacement lenses available in many colors, mirrored, polarized, the works, so as long as the frame holds up you can keep a pair of these fresh and functional almost forever. The one small downside, other than the high price, is that when folded the glasses are still a little bulky for a pocket. I've gotten used to it but they will take up lots of space when you're not wearing them. Oakley includes a microfiber bag for storage, which protects the lenses when pocketed without adding extra bulk or weight. Overall, these are top-notch sunglasses at a price that is high, but reasonable for what you get. I would have spent this much on multiple replacements for cheaper glasses over the past four years. • Good stuff. Fits bigger Noggins.
After researching they seem to b the real thing. Plus I own 2 pair of Oakleys that I use regularly. 4 pair overall throughout my life and I am 45. R nice. Especially for 70$. Usually polarized lens jacks the price up for Oakleys. Is a gift. These fit bigger noggins. He got one. I tried them on to make sure and they r too big for my head. Which is good. Cuz my head is smaller. Oakleys I fit r Straight Jackets and 1/2 Jackets. Which r too small for his head. Should work out well. I personally don't freak out about this model. There is NO RUBBER to keep them in place on your head. At all. Nothing but plastic. Definetly r not sports wear. More like casual. Which should suit this gift well for the most part. Another good friend of his has Gascans, which r rubberless also. So his shades r on par with his at least. Haha Nice overall. Frame is really nice, translucent light brown. ... show more

  • Awesome glasses, but something was off.
Color: Matte Black/Dark Bronze Lens Width: 60 Millimeters
I bought these for the Oakley label and the Dark Bronze lenses - nothing better in my opinion. I received them early, but poorly packed by the seller. The Oakley box was chucked inside an outer shipping carton with no packing. Needless to say the factory box was damaged, upon opening the glasses they appear to have been a previous return. The "bag" was covered in lint and the glasses only had one protective sleeve on one of the earpieces and the lenses were dirty. That being said after cleaning the lenses the glasses were in good shape with no noticeable scratches or marks. After putting them on the view was exceptional, as is expected with Oakley products, but I could not get them to sit correctly on my head and they would not rest on the bridge of my nose. Having owned FuelCell and GasCan glasses, I was surprised by this. The frames did not appear bent, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with them since they had obviously already been returned. So I sent them back. Great glasses otherwise. ... show more

  • Oakley fan
I’ve been a fan of Oakley for many years and only buy their sunglasses. In fact, I already had this exact style, but had ended up scratching the lens (my own fault) so was ready to replace. I love that they have no metal and are polarizing. They stay in place no matter what I’m doing. I also like the color. These are supposedly for men (which I am not) but I like the shape on my face and the full eye coverage. ... show more

  • I'm very happy with these glasses
I'm very happy with these glasses. I like the snug but not too tight fit. The frame size is just right for me (60mm). The frames are somewhat large, but smaller than a lot of oakley sunglasses. I ordered the brown smoke frames which come with polarized tungsten iridium lenses. I know this because it is stated on the oakley website. I like the way they significantly reduce the glare and brightness even though these are not the darkest lenses available. The lenses look like they do in the photo for the brown smoke frames. However when I put them on and look in the mirror, the lenses almost look like a mirror finish. By the way, the ad states that the lenses are non-polarized, but the brown smoke frames come with polarized lenses, at least mine did. If you click on the brown smoke frames and then scroll over the photo to magnify it, you will see the word "Polarized" on the left lens. The actual sunglasses come with this word subtly printed on the left lens, it is not a peel-off sticker. I don't even notice it and I doubt anyone looking at me would notice it either. I am only mentioning it because one reviewer on the oakley website was very displeased to see "polarized" printed on the lens and claimed that it was distracting. They arrived in perfect condition. The quality appears to be good. Hopefully they will prove to be durable. ... show more
