I have dark chestnut hair, so I thought the second darkest pencil (espresso) would work without being too black in tone. It ended up being too light and kind of reddish. I'll get the black and see if it looks alright. The expresso pencil DID match my roommate's brows. She was pleased with how easily it went on, and how you could make small strokes that look natural without having to blend with a spoolie. NYX has created the perfect micro brow pencil. Available in colors for almost everyone. The taupe is a good match for me. It goes on smoothly and stays in place all day. I like that it’s waterproof and vegan. The spoolie end brushes your brows upward for a nice finishing touch.

I purchased the gray and I really like it. I try probably 15 to 20 different brow pencils and powders, with not much luck. The colors either wrong or it doesn't go on well. I have an odd patch in one of my eyebrows It doesn't want to take any color and I'm desperately trying to fill it since I have almost no brows. You can’t go wrong with this eyebrow pencil. Quick, easy, good pigment, and natural results. I have tried all types of eyebrow pencils and gels from high end ABH and benefit to drug store L’Oréal and maybelline and this is my go to. I can’t justify spending any more money than this in an eyebrow pencil. A big issue I have with eyebrow pencils is that they turn out to be warm toned or grey but I got black in this one and it is the perfect shade. The fine tip allows for precise and natural strokes. As much as I love this product, the cap on the single side keeps popping off and flying across the room. I have 2 and it happens with both. I have to put a piece of tape around it to keep it closed.
