I bought this eyeliner for a musical theatre production and I tested it on my cheek, but then I literally could not get it off. I scrubbed and scrubbed with tons of soap and water and could barely get it off! I had to scrub so hard that it left that part of my face raw. So it is EXTREMELY long lasting and you do NOT have to worry about this smudging or fading or cracking or anything like that. It is literally SOAP-PROOF!

I was able to get it off my lid and face with a cleanser pretty easily but it’s stuck-stuck on my lashes lol. So be careful getting it on your lashes!

I ordered the blue shade and every time I wear it I get compliments! It’s a fun color and it’s super easy to apply (and this is coming from someone who has no idea how to do make up!! So if I can manage to get a nice wing, you can too!!) deff reccomend and doesn’t smudge and it lasts long. (Stayed on all night at a hack Harlow concert!)

First things first, this is a solidly good product. The formula is SUPER long lasting and can take an absolute beating. The first day I wore this, I laughed, cried, accidentally rubbed my eyes, went out in the rain, and effectively put it through almost everything an eyeliner can go through. So, I feel equipped to say that this eyeliner is waterproof and smudge proof. Also, when I took it off 14 hours after applying, there was zero cracking, smudging, or any real show of wear. Having said that, it also refused to budge with my micellar water that removes literally all of my other makeup (including very waterproof mascara) until I rubbed quite hard. I'll be trying some other makeup remover and coconut oil to see if either of those work better. I like a long lasting eyeliner, but I don't want to take it to the grave. Okay, now, that I've addressed the good, it's time to move on to the bad and the ugly. The only reason I purchased this eyeliner is because, to my dismay, NYX discontinued their Matte Liquid Liner. This was my holy grail eyeliner. I wore it nearly every day, and never found myself disappointed. I felt a strangely real sense of loss when I learned it was discontinued, and quite frankly, it still stings. But, I figured it would be close enough. I like NYX products overall, due to their quality, price point, and lack of animal testing, and I knew I wanted a liquid liner with a pot and brush versus a more modern pen applicator. So, this seemed perfect. And again, it's good. But if you're coming from using the Matte Liquid Liner, there are some major differences. First, as some other reviewers have mentioned, the brush is noticeably thicker than the brush with the Matte Liquid Liner. This means, if you're accustomed to the thinner brush, this one can make you feel a little ham-fisted with your application, and it can make it harder to get fine details. Along with the brush itself, the formula feels thicker. There's a certain viscosity to this eyeliner that the Matte Liquid Liner lacked. This adds to the increased difficulty to get precise lines and details. Having said that, it's a decent replacement, and a solid option for the price point.

I used to exclusively use the Marc Jacobs Liquid Gel Eyeliner, and was really upset when it was discontinued. I think I went through 3 or 4 other brands of liquid eyeliner and they all sucked. However, this eyeliner is definitely going to be my go-to from now on. I'm an active person who sweats a lot, and this eyeliner stays PUT through 10,000 steps a day, sweaty workouts, and day-to-day wear and tear. Normally I would get home from work and take off whatever eyeliner I had left on my face (I often had to bring my eyeliner to work with me to touch it up throughout the day, even the Marc Jacobs) because it would just feel icky on my skin at that point, but I literally forget I'm wearing this eyeliner. Not to mention, it does on SO smooth. My only complaint so far is that the tip doesn't really allow for very sharp lines, but that's not an issue for me and it's still a great liner for a very affordable price.

It’s a liquid liner with a brush so requires a bit of practice to apply properly. It doesn’t bleed when applied and has plenty of pigment. Once dry it has amazing lasting power. It does not dissolve on oily eyes or hooded eyes. Highly recommended. Much better than the pen version which doesn’t last on my eyes. The brown and gray colors are flattering for people who don’t want a strong black liner.
