It works as a rudder is expected to. It is also very durable and made of strong material. My only complaint is that it doesn’t fit as snug as I’d like. It is tightened as much as I can manage, and still will sometimes shift out of line during basic handling of my trolling motor.

    • Better to have it than not
I used it with a 60 Lbs trolling motor. As far as functionality goes: It does help (about 25-35%) improvement. The effect is (of course) more noticeable at higher speeds. As for the installation, it sucked big time; they sent four screws with no bolts, and the screws didn't even fit and were too short, so I had to buy my own and ended up drilling the holes to fit the new (bigger) screw size.     • Works great for flat bottom jonboat.
Great product! The process was right, and it doesn't what it's supposed to. Took about 10 min to fully install, and was pretty straight forward. Tried it on the water the same day, and the results were clear, especially on my 1436 jonboat. Usually it turns in very weird way due to the flat bottom. This rudder fixes that and also keeps me from having to tackle back and forth while trolling. I'm using this on a MinnKota...the one from Walmart that we all own. ... show more
