  • Excellent Sound And Performance
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
It's been a week since I installed the NVX VDA 11005, and I have found myself wanting to sneak away to my car for a listening session just to appreciate and absorb the improved sound fidelity over my previous amp. The NVX replaced a failing Pioneer 5 channel amp that had slowly been reduced to two channels over the past 5 years. It's the second popular name brand amp that has failed me in the last ten years, so I decided to try this amp and see what happens. I obviously cannot speak to longevity yet, but the improved sound quality...man...it's noticeable. Installation was a breeze as I already had everything in place. It has a slightly smaller footprint than the Pioneer which is nice. Wiring was straight forward and easy. The only catch is that the power and ground inputs have a little trouble accepting my 4 gauge wire which was a bit surprising. It's not as clean as I would like, and I'll probably revisit it soon. Tuning was surprisingly quick relative to my previous amps. I was able to get the sound right in the pocket without much fiddling with gain and filters. The subsonic filter may have something to do with the quality of sound. Neither of my previous amps had this feature and I suspect that my 12" subwoofer was having to work harder than it should have, trying to produce sound that it isn't capable of handling. The result is a cleaner, warmer, and thumpier base that is less directional and more consuming. It's less a shower and more a bath of sound now. I have 6.5" components up front, coax in the rear deck and of course the 12" sub in the trunk. There's plenty of power to each channel, and really, the stock satellite speaker wiring is probably limiting me at this point. The sub is a 4 ohm DVC wired in parallel to run at 2 ohm which the 5th channel gladly supports. The remote bass boost knob let's me push the sub as hard as I want to but I don't care to know the limit or come close to it. It's plenty of power for my liking. Btw, I would recommend using a capacitor to ease the power draw on your battery. Overall this is a fantastic amp for the money and is a huge win for NVX, which is a Sonic Electronics in house brand from what I understand. Nice. ... show more

  • ABSOLUTELY THE BEST VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
I only started using NVX products in the last year, but let me tell you, their amps are absolutely the best value for your money. I own the NVX VAD1700.1, VAD1100.5, and the VAD1000.4 and they have all performed beyond expectation. The sound quality is amazing and the power is a true rated RMS. Several of the NVX amps have been dyno tested on Youtube if you need proof of their ratings claims. The amp does get warm, but that has not translated into any complications or issues for me as I can run my system at 3/4 volume for an extended time and the amp has never shut off or gone into protect, which is true of all of the NVX amps I own. I would recommend mounting it with spacers, like 1/4 inch thick rubber feet pads to create some extra air flow space under the amp, but that's a personal preference thing for me as I have always done that. These amps are also very compact for the amount of RMS power they put out and can easily be installed in locations such as under a seat or behind a trim panel with no modification. The other thing to know about these NVX amps is that they utilize a SUM OUTPUT. This means that you must have the left AND the right RCA going into the sub woofer channel RCA inputs of the amp from the head unit. If your head unit only has one sub RCA pre-out or if you are splitting the left rear channel RCA for your sub, you will want to make sure that you connect a "Y" adapter at the end going into the amp. If you fail to do this, you will only get half the volume or less from the amp. I have found this to be true for all NVX mono and five channel amps. You can't buy a better quality true RMS amp than these NVX VAD models for your money. If you're on the fence, get off of it and pull the trigger. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • High quality and no problems here. Very pleased.
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
Very pleased. Replaced an Alpine amp with this, and believe it or not, this was way better sound quality. I always had a "ring" around 2khz with the Alpine, this thing is just smooth frequency response and power to spare. I've had one of these installed in one vehicle for over a year now, VERY pleased. I have another one about to go in another car and can't wait to get it hooked up. I also have several NVX speakers now, and those too have provided excellent sound quality and overall value. ... show more

  • 1 year running strong
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
1 year down and still running flawlessly. Best five channel amp i have every owned. With honestly more power output then what it advertised. Reminds me of the old-school cheater amps watch dyno videos of these amps on YouTube. This amp puts out over 125watts above what they are rated for on just the sub channel. ... show more

  • Value 5 channel with good sound
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
Good Value 5 channel that I installed in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Front and Rear sound amazing, cross overs and controls all work very well and produce a great sound balance. Cons - 1 star sound quality / Sub channel @ 2 ohms is lack luster. I didnt expect the same pucnh as a but for an advertised 600w at 2ohm load it is out paced by a mono 400 it replaced. - 2 stars ease of install / Speaker outputs are angled down and have pointed screw contacts. I found with the amp control wire, and anything under 16g is cut off in the clamp and screwed tight. I ended up sodering my ends to ensure that they were not cut off. These angled contacts are almost impossiable to get to once installed as well, so make sure you have plenty of space before mounting to make adjustments or connections. All in all though, even with the shallenges of connections and lower output sub channel I am satisfed with the AMP itself. Clear and clean sound, minimal to no altenator whine, and no shart snap to the speakers on startup or shut down. ... show more

I habe ordered 3 of these amps in the last month to install in boats at my shop and 2 of 3 amps has been defective. One went into protection mode. Called for support and did everything they recommended and still did not work. Got a replacement and installed it and with the amp connected, the amp would not power on. • Great Amp
Style: 1100W 5-Channel
Very impressed with the sound quality and power. I'm running 4 polk audio component speakers 100 watt rms and a 500 watt rms alpine sub woofer. Would definitely recommend this unit.
