This is based on the original Nvidia Shield TV system. I have the non pro version, and I understand the newest versions are about 40% smaller. It should still work but if you have the newer version you might want to check with someone who has one. This is a wonderful addition for me for my Shield TV. The stand essentiall lets me turn in verticle instead of flat as the pictures show. For me I set it up beside my TV in a convenient location. It keeps with the angular design of the shield TV and is pleasant to look at. Essentially it is a weighted stand that isn't too heavy but heavy enough. Has a non-slip bottom. The Shield functions perfectly well in it's normal horizontal position, of course. But it's simple yet radical lines beg to be on display, especially that inset green light and this all aluminum stand with it's perfect complimentary design fills that function flawlessly. It has some heft because it's machined out of a single block of aluminum so makes a stable platform. Together the device and stand have a high tech almost alien architectural look. Do I think it should have been included with the Shield originally at it's relatively high price point? Of course. It is hard to argue the value of this stand as the Nvidia Shield TV works just fine without it. However, I am glad I picked it up as the Shield looks fantastic in the stand and it takes up very little space vertically. This stand is for the smaller 2017 and 2019 versions of the Shield. It is different from the stand for the larger 2015 version. The older stand was made of metal and had a sticky bottom surface I did not care for. This stand feels like a rugged plastic and has a rubber bottom to prevent slipping. It is heavy enough to prevent the Shield from tipping over. Is it a must have? No. However, if you have the Shield as the centerpiece of your home theater, this stand is a really nice addition. It makes the Shield look elegant and helps it stand out from the other electronics. ... show more

After spending $200 for the Nvidia Shield TV, I was experiencing some issues with it getting a little hot. I am so happy I bought this stand because now the vent holes are not sitting against a surface and it stays cool. Working much better. If you have a pre-2017 model or a "Pro" version, this isn't the stand you want. There is another SKU available which will sort you out. Overpriced for what it is - twenty bucks for this? - but it sure looks great, and fits the Shield nice and snug. If you want to save some shelf space, this is what you need. ... show more

Some people wonder why you need a device such as this. I was one of those people. When you start to accumulate a crap load of stuff like: modem, router, cable box, TV boxes, wires, etc. etc. you start to want some order. It seems like after a while everything is just everywhere. I was trying to prop my Nvidia shield up alongside of my Orbi router and it just was not working. So I hop on good old Amazon and lo and behold look what I find. Despite the fact I spent 1999, I am very happy with the item, and it works well, and it does what it is supposed to do. Keeps my Nvidia shield upright and in tiptop shape. Purchased this for my two years old nVidia Shield after trying many times to stand it up by other means. I refused to buy one because I thought it was a bit overpriced but after receiving it I realized why. Very impressive stand indeed. It's study and looks nice. A bit expensive for a piece of hard rubber though. If your down to your last dollars save them. If you have disposable income go for it. Just think how much more goes into a camera or a pair of headphones. Well you can get either for the price of this rubber stand. They won't be good but still.
