It works when my cats allow me to file their nails. It has been challenging because of the sound and the vibration when I start filing. Cats are scared of anything unfamiliar or loud. It isn't very loud but definitely startled my furbabies. Definitely comfortable to hold, not heavy nor bulky. I should have started using this when my cats were kittens so they would have been used to it. It's a great idea, quick and you don't need to worry about cutting too far down. I've also dropped this a few times trying not to get clawed and it's still functions like new. Definitely recommend if you feel your furbabies can handle sound and vibration.

We've tried 'several' dog nail grinders, but this is far and away the best we've used. Battery life is incredible. The grinder actually works, and is capable of taking off a lot, or a little depending on the angle, and pressure applied. The grinder head is attached to the spindle, so there's no sandpaper ring to come loose, or 'spin-in-place' while the grinder is in contact with the nail. The LED light is perfectly positioned, and provides great illumination of the work area. Our dogs are big (13+ year old retired greyhound and a pitbull-weimaraner mix) and their nails are tough. This grinder works, and works quietly enough that our dogs aren't bothered by the sound. It also seems the grinder wheel is of a finer grit, which reduces the vibrations our dogs didn't like. We use the grinder with the wheel fully exposed because of the dogs' nail sizes, and it also makes it easier for us to shape the nail. What used to be a two person job can now be accomplished by one, and is about half the time. We highly recommend the Rexipets Dog Nail Grinder!

As a first time cat mom and doing cat mom things while the wife's away, I had to do something about this girls nails! Her female cats nails started to become sharp and she was due for a cut, but I was too nervous to cut them off and patiently hurt her, so I got this instead and it was better than nothing in my book. It does the job and yes she fidgets but I'm willing to put in the time, but it got 4 out of 5 because of how loud it is. It claims it quiet but even the low setting is pretty loud...

This trimmer has a good idea to reduce the stress of accidentally clipping too deeply into your puppy’s nail but I couldn’t get him to sit still near it due to the noise level initially. If I was able to get him to sit and let the trimmer touch his nail, the vibration was too much for him. I tried multiple times but it was too too much for our puppy. This seems to have enough power to get the job done if your puppy is not frightened of the vibration. It also is not a quick process so your puppy will need to sit patiently. I’ll try again when he gets older since he is only 6 months old. It is quite durable and comes packaged nicely. It offers a guard to also guide the nail toward the grinding surface and does seem to have good rotation. The clipper itself is easy to use and hold, my puppy on the other hand, was not.

Wow this is a great tool for dog nail care. I have two older shelties and neither of them mind this tool being used on their nails. I tried the cover/guides and pretty much right away just removed those. I move the grinding head all around the nail while shaping it, so the included guides just got in the way. The way the grinding wheel is made it does not damage skin unless you press it into the skin for a longer time or with a lot of force, so, it is safe if you use it gently. The bad? None, really, except the instructions are sparse. I see no instruction on changing the grinding head, extra grinding heads are included. As of now it seems the grinding head will last a vary long time so i will not need to worry about changing it, for a vary long time. I first tried it out to profile my own finger nails and guess what? I love it. I recommend it for people and pets. If you buy it first try it on your own nails. Not worried about sharing it with the pups, I'll just wash my hands and used some alcohol gel and good to go. I might even buy another just to keep in the bathroom and profile my nails. I used to be a machinist and still do metal work so my finger nails often get some damage. Super easy to fix that with this tool. I can easily spend a good bit of time with a nail file fixing my damaged nails. I can do the same job on all my nails in 1/10th the time with this tool. So... yes I think I'll buy another just for me. I give this REXIPETS Cat and Dog Nail Grinder my highest recommendation. Buy it, you will not regret the decision.

Trimming our dalmatian's nails the old fashioned way was an absolute nightmare. We tried everything (treats, peanut butter, etc) and the only success we had was my 6'4" boyfriend holding him down while I clipped away. He would bark and kick and go bananas every time and it made is feel awful (not to mention it was exhausting). As a last ditch effort, we decided to give this product a try and OMG... GAME CHANGER. It is very quiet and didn't scare him at all. We sat him down (no holding required) and on our first try he just sat there patiently, letting us file down each nail. No barking, no struggle. Just peace! He even sniffed the trimmer as we went and didn't seem bothered by it at all. Half of his nails are black and half are white. Traditional trimmers made it hard to see his quick but the light on this made trimming less stressful and no hurt paws! We also got a much smoother finish to his nails with no sharp edges. If you're struggling like we were, don't hesitate to click "add to cart" on this item. Thank me later :)

i bought this product so i could safely grind down my pet's black nails, and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality! the grinder is so much quieter than my old dremel tool. i spent a few sessions getting my dog accustomed to the sound, and he really wasn't bothered by it! not that he enjoys getting his nails trimmed lol, we are still working on the actual grinding part - he'll tolerate it for short bursts, but it seems to take a while to get the nails to actually grind down. but maybe im not applying enough pressure to get the nails to grind quickly. i think there's a bit of a learning curve on both our parts. overall i am extremely satisfied with the purchase though! product works great, is very quiet, and the dust cover is essential very glad it was included!! it really does trap all the dust so it doesn't fly around in mine or my dog's face. would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a pet nail trimmer. just please put in the time to train your dog to get them used to the tool before you jump in :)

The grinder is exactly what the ad promises — well-designed, easy to use. However, one thing I failed to see was that the noise of the grinder (even though fairly minimal) will keep any cat from sitting still while it is used. My kittens are 11 weeks and 17 weeks, and I cannot get anywhere near them with this thing. I get hold of a kitten, then turn on the grinder, and then the kitten becomes all claws (IRONY!) trying to get away from it. If I had a second person to help, maybe I could use this, but instead I have to go back to manually clipping the claws, which is almost as much of a challenge.
