It works when my cats allow me to file their nails. It has been challenging because of the sound and the vibration when I start filing. Cats are scared of anything unfamiliar or loud. It isn't very loud but definitely startled my furbabies. Definitely comfortable to hold, not heavy nor bulky. I should have started using this when my cats were kittens so they would have been used to it. It's a great idea, quick and you don't need to worry about cutting too far down.     • Best Dog Nail Grinder
We've tried 'several' dog nail grinders, but this is far and away the best we've used. Battery life is incredible. The grinder actually works, and is capable of taking off a lot, or a little depending on the angle, and pressure applied. The grinder head is attached to the spindle, so there's no sandpaper ring to come loose, or 'spin-in-place' while the grinder is in contact with the nail. The LED light is perfectly positioned, and provides great illumination of the work area. Our dogs are big (13+ year old retired greyhound and a pitbull-weimaraner mix) and their nails are tough. This grinder works, and works quietly enough that our dogs aren't bothered by the sound. It also seems the grinder wheel is of a finer grit, which reduces the vibrations our dogs didn't like. We use the grinder with the wheel fully exposed because of the dogs' nail sizes, and it also makes it easier for us to shape the nail. What used to be a two person job can now be accomplished by one, and is about half the time. We highly recommend the Rexipets Dog Nail Grinder! ... show more

    • Game changer
Trimming our dalmatian's nails the old fashioned way was an absolute nightmare. We tried everything (treats, peanut butter, etc) and the only success we had was my 6'4" boyfriend holding him down while I clipped away. He would bark and kick and go bananas every time and it made is feel awful (not to mention it was exhausting). As a last ditch effort, we decided to give this product a try and OMG... GAME CHANGER. It is very quiet and didn't scare him at all. We sat him down (no holding required) and on our first try he just sat there patiently, letting us file down each nail. No barking, no struggle. Just peace! He even sniffed the trimmer as we went and didn't seem bothered by it at all. Half of his nails are black and half are white. Traditional trimmers made it hard to see his quick but the light on this made trimming less stressful and no hurt paws! We also got a much smoother finish to his nails with no sharp edges.     • Almost Perfect
This sure makes it easier to keep my old puppy’s nails short (10-year old, 80 lbs. Lab). They grow so fast in his old age they are hard to keep up with, and it is expensive to keep taking him to the groomer. Not to mention, he is not fond of me touching his paws. With this, I grind a little bit each week and I have been able to desensitize him and keep his nails short enough that he is no longer sliding on our hardwood floors, and his toes are not bending in funny directions. This grinder charges quickly and is pretty quiet. The two speeds help to find a setting that will keep your pet comfortable. The removable guide allows for safe grinding of different size nails without fear of grinding too far. A second bit is included - but it is not clear how to order additional bits. I took away two stars because the bit constantly pops out in the middle of use. It doesn’t seem to matter how I use it, with or without the guide, high speed or low, the bit pops off at will. This machine serves it’s purpose for me, but I’m not certain about recommending it unless the bit security is corrected. ... show more

    • Quiet and easy!
Works great and easy to use. It's not loud at all. Very durable. I use it frequently and for the most part my retriever seems much less bothered by this than traditional trims with clippers.

    • First time cat mom things
As a first time cat mom and doing cat mom things while the wife's away, I had to do something about this girls nails! Her female cats nails started to become sharp and she was due for a cut, but I was too nervous to cut them off and patiently hurt her, so I got this instead and it was better than nothing in my book. It does the job and yes she fidgets but I'm willing to put in the time, but it got 4 out of 5 because of how loud it is. It claims it quiet but even the low setting is pretty loud... ... show more
