It works when my cats allow me to file their nails. It has been challenging because of the sound and the vibration when I start filing. Cats are scared of anything unfamiliar or loud. It isn't very loud but definitely startled my furbabies. Definitely comfortable to hold, not heavy nor bulky. I should have started using this when my cats were kittens so they would have been used to it. It's a great idea, quick and you don't need to worry about cutting too far down.     • Any grinder will work... this is very very quiet
I had an older nail grinder a while back. It was so loud my dogs were so scared of the sound I couldn't get to the actual nail grinding. This is really quiet. And it doesn't hurt the dogs at all. They dont like my holding their paw and feeling the vibration. But it doesn't hurt. A few treats along the way makes up for the inconvenience of having their nails grinded (yes I own two princesses who dont like sitting still when told) And the charge lasts quite a while.     • Noise level a bit much for our Aussie
This trimmer has a good idea to reduce the stress of accidentally clipping too deeply into your puppy’s nail but I couldn’t get him to sit still near it due to the noise level initially. If I was able to get him to sit and let the trimmer touch his nail, the vibration was too much for him. I tried multiple times but it was too too much for our puppy. This seems to have enough power to get the job done if your puppy is not frightened of the vibration. It also is not a quick process so your puppy will need to sit patiently. I’ll try again when he gets older since he is only 6 months old. It is quite durable and comes packaged nicely. It offers a guard to also guide the nail toward the grinding surface and does seem to have good rotation.     • Game changer
Trimming our dalmatian's nails the old fashioned way was an absolute nightmare. We tried everything (treats, peanut butter, etc) and the only success we had was my 6'4" boyfriend holding him down while I clipped away. He would bark and kick and go bananas every time and it made is feel awful (not to mention it was exhausting). As a last ditch effort, we decided to give this product a try and OMG... GAME CHANGER. It is very quiet and didn't scare him at all. We sat him down (no holding required) and on our first try he just sat there patiently, letting us file down each nail. No barking, no struggle. Just peace! He even sniffed the trimmer as we went and didn't seem bothered by it at all. Half of his nails are black and half are white. Traditional trimmers made it hard to see his quick but the light on this made trimming less stressful and no hurt paws! We also got a much smoother finish to his nails with no sharp edges. This product worked better than I had expected it to. I’m no professional groomer and this product was safe to use on my cats and the noise level was low. It’s lightweight and can be easy to travel with. I liked the fact that it’s rechargeable so no changing batteries
