  • Great First Air Fryer – Easy to Use, Crispy Results, and No Circuit Issues
Style: Pro Smart Air Fryer Combo
I’ve been using this Nuwave air fryer for a couple of weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. Even though it has a lot of settings and options, it’s very simple and straightforward to use. The warm-up time is quick, about 3 minutes, which makes it really convenient for everyday cooking. So far I’ve mostly been making turkey burgers and chicken wings. The burgers come out perfect in about 9–10 minutes. They actually taste better than when I cook them on a skillet, the texture is more “beef-like” and less rubbery, which was a nice surprise. Chicken wings come out crispy every time. I also really like the grill option. I've only grilled a couple of steaks, but they came out looking amazing. One of my favorite features is the ability to adjust the wattage. I have two refrigerators on the same circuit (a full-size side-by-side and a mini fridge), so I was a bit concerned about overloading it. I’ve been running the air fryer at 1500W and haven’t tripped the circuit once, even when both fridge compressors are running. Cleaning turned out to be much easier than I expected. I thought the mesh trays would be a pain, but using a soft bristle brush makes it quick and easy to remove grease and food particles. Overall, I’m really happy with this air fryer and would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for your first one. ... show more

  • Adventures in Cooking,One Stop Shop !
Style: Bravo XL Air Fryer Combo
The media could not be loaded. "The NuWave Bravo XL is an excellent countertop oven. While I've had other small countertop ovens, so far, this the best. Cooking temperatures are even. The air fry basket and multiple (shelves) are an extra as is the enamel broiling rack and baking pan. The unit is easy to operate and clean. The "Smart" preset cooking/baking temperatures, and the included temperature probe, are nice additional "features". I just received my Bravo XL yesterday and I couldn't be more happy with it. I just tried it for the first time to get a feel for it and I have to say WOW !!! I'm just getting started exploring all the features of this oven, but so far, it's surpassed my expectations. The very first feature I utilized was the air fryer, to my complete satisfaction it did not disappoint. Take a look at the Crispy Air Fried Fish Fillets ! YUM ! I'm particularly pleased at the even heating inside the oven chamber -- no hot or cold spots -- everything comes out evenly cooked I very much enjoy cooking, and have used similar products like this one in my many years of preparing food. I thought the instructions were a bit vague but I easily figured it out as it is easy to use from the first use. I didn't whip up anything fancy but something simple. I had fresh battered fish fillets so I set the oven to air fry and the temperature sets automatically. I set the timer for 10 minute and just like that I had delirious hot fish that was as good if not better because I didn't use a single drop of oil. A little sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper the the fish fillets were flavorable and crisp. I'm thoroughly addicted and can't wait to try all the many other foods I can prepare next ! There is a bit of learning curve so I caution everyone to please read the instruction book that comes with the oven. It is fairly easy to figure out and the instructions booklet breaks everything down. After learning how it works, the oven is great, easy to use, accurate, and cooks excellently. It is very flexible for cooking different foods and cooking styles, and the recipe book will come in handy as well. This convection oven has a ton of different settings to meet all of your cooking needs...I really enjoy having a probe included with the oven as it's always good to have a food thermometer handy. The airfryer makes frozen goods more crisp than if you were using a traditional oven. And, it cooks any meat (poultry, pork, beef, seafood etc.) without a problem. As for baked goods, using the "bake" setting is a snap ! The biggest pro is how fast it heats up and gets to cooking. It doesn't take nearly as long as my traditional stove-top oven. I can't wait to see what the dehydrator will accomplish, and also the yogurt function 😃 The Bravo XL is truly a "One Stop Shop"and I would 100% recommend the NuWave Bravo XL to anyone looking for a new toaster oven and/or anyone trying to get their feet wet, so to speak, with new adventures in cooking !😊 ... show more

  • Good, but subtracted a start because ^&*% complex
Style: Bravo XL Air Fryer Combo
So far very good for the money. Toaster ovens used to be, well, able to make toast plus function as a small oven. The were rapidly joined by microwave ovens. Now I am willing to bet you have three ovens, a big, "normal" oven, a "toaster oven" and a microwave. Why? Well, because Americans are stark raving loons, but that is another story. Large size regular ovens cook large means and double as space heaters (whether you want them to or not). Microwave ovens defrost things, heat leftovers or preprepared items, and can reduce things to glowing nuclear ash, but, strangely, cannot get anything golden brown. Enter the toaster oven. Toaster ovens can do what a large oven does, but does it smaller and does it without heating up your entire house. With that nitch filled, obviously they had to start getting bigger (as all things American do). Now the limit is your kitchen cabinets, because it has to fit under them, and (as an extra bonus) not set them on fire. Unfortunately, as an side effect of the age we live in, they also (apparently) have to become more complex to operate than the Space Shuttle. I first used this oven to make, well, toast! (how novel). That worked well. Unfortunately that led to increased (and unwarranted) expectations that I might be able to use this as an... well... oven! I was led to this conclusion by the name. There, it says "oven" in the title. And we had a pie. Pies don't generally work out in microwaves, since they need to, you know, "cook" and everthing, not just defrost, reheat, or manufacture nuclear waste, etc. And this oven is big enough for a PIE! Things were looking up. Try #1. I put the pie in the oven, turned it on, selected "bake", selected the temperature, and the time! It said "pre", which I figured meant "preheat". Cool. The big oven works the same way. Thus assured, we went about our business and waited for the pie to cook. Came back later. The oven was off and the (very unbaked) pie was cold. Undaunted, we repeated the same procedure. Again it started up, and again we came back later and the oven was OFF. The pie was singed, but cold. Which pretty much described our condition as well. At this point we gave up, started the big oven and cooked it there. Ok, today I figured it was time to square off with the oven. One of us was going to win. My wife was betting on the oven, but hah! I am not so easily defeated. I went through the bake sequence with the oven empty, and finally discovered, by trial and error, that once the oven is started and preheating is complete, it gets angry at your clear lack of interest in it and shuts off. You didn't get back to it in time, you obviously don't know what you are doing, and it quits. Ok. I found out, again trial and error, that it says "pre" (preheat) then "rdy" (which I cleverly decoded as "ready". If you THEN hit start it will bake and count down! Yeahhhh! Ok, to be fair it does say this in the manual if you dig far enough. You have to realize that "preheat" is automatically part of the "bake" program, then look under "preheat" (even though you didn't press that button). then there it is, 5 paragraphs in or so, that it will shut off automatically if you don't press start AGAIN. Its right there by the instructions for launching it into low earth orbit. In short, it seems to be a good oven, but frankly, I didn't realize the need to take a college course to operate the thing. It has lots of features that I am positive I will never use, but I am happy with the fact that eventually I could program it to run a stock market simulation. In short, really everything I really had to say here was in the headline, but you are so nice to read this. Have a cookie. As soon as I can figure out how to $%&^ bake the things with this oven! ... show more

  • Better than the range oven
Style: Bravo XL Air Fryer Combo
Family LOVES this thing! Used it more than we did our actual stove/oven and never regretted it. It's held up under a lot of use, still works perfect. Cooks things quickly, and looks amazing. Slight learning curve for cookies, but still amazing.
