These are a great value. Easy install... no metal can needed. Simply cut the correct size hole, wire it up like any other light, and fit the flaps up through the hole and the spring loaded flappers snap into place and hold the lights securely in place. These are very thin and will fit into tight spaces. We do not have a dimmer switch on these so I can;t say how they respond to a dimmer. These are excellent spot lights that are also fire rated. They come with a metallic junction box and easy to connect wiring. It took me about less than an hour to drill, install, then wire 5 of these spot lights in our kitchen. Prior to lightning them up, I didn't know what to expect in terms of light distribution and brightness, I was worried they're more of a straight downward projection type and I would need more to light up the area. But I was wrong, these are fairly bright and cover a wide area. My choice going with 4 on each corner and one in the center turned out to be just perfect. The color temperature selection is a plus as it allows to set the light for the environment they'll be used at. Couldn't more happier for how they worked out. One point of annoyance was the gaskets they came with seemed loose at times and had to be given extra care to set it flat. The lights are on the pricey side compared to others, but they're worth the peace of mind. 5 stars ... show more

    • Ultra Thin Recessed LEDs are awesome!
They are much nicer than the old recessed cans. I highly recommend getting the E26 Socket Adapters. It's a light bulb socket on one end and 2 wire leads on the other. These eliminate the need to cut your existing wires. Easily connect the 2 wire leads into the LED box. Then just screw in the socket parts to your existing lights. About 5 minutes to install each light. If you use a socket adapter you can alway revert back to the original light. Alternatively they can be installed in just a sheetrock opening The only issue I have is there is an unfinished, unpainted ring that you can see around the LED trim ring. The outer ring on these lights is about a 1/4" smaller diameter than the old trim ring. It would be nice to see, even an inexpensive, plastic trim ring. You can get OOPS trim rings on Amazon PROS - fire rated - plenty bright - white color temperature - dimmable - inexpensive upgrade - retrofit installation - new construction installation - nicer, cleaner look than standard recessed lights - easily controlled by the Sunco app(Android Sunco app has issues) CONS - not so much a CON, it would be nice if they came with a trim ring to cover up unpainted area under original trim ring, or make the Sunco trim ring 1/4" wider in diameter ... show more

These are well made and solid. I really liked the option to select the color temp since we used these in 2 different rooms and selected a different color temp for each room. The fire rating was definitely and plus. Highly recommend!
