  • Quiet and works well!
I had bought another brand of induction cooktop and found it very difficult to use. I struggled to cook rice as the burner was either not hot enough or too hot. Also it was so noisy and I wondered if all the induction burners were this noisy?? I returned it and bought this one . This is a very nice cooktop and the temperature ranges are much more suitable for cooking as I have no problems and I've been used to a gas stove for years! It's pretty quiet and very easy to keep clean. Not to mention the reports about how gas stoves really aren't that great for our health! Also if I'm cooking something that might stink up my apartment I can take my cooktop outside! Can't do that with my gas stove! ... show more

  • Excellent Product
Style: Double
The media could not be loaded. Normally I wouldn’t give a product five stars without having a better sense of reliability and dependability. But I’m so impressed with this induction “hot plate” (for lack of a better word) I want to draw attention to it. Features: nearly instant on, better heat distribution, keeps the kitchen and cook cooler. Twin surfaces allow you to cook on one and keep food warm on the other. Be aware that a lot of your cookware won’t work with induction. The electronic sensors won’t permit the induction elements to turn on when using aluminum, or high quality stainless steel. I’m not sure about copper. I assume it won’t work with copper clad cookware. That’s kind of a shame but that’s the nature of copper. The cool thing is that cheap stainless steel and cast iron both work perfectly. You can also buy quality induction cookware which is awesome and could be sold or passed on for, basically forever. ... show more

  • A good option, with a few small caveats
Style: Double
Been using this for the past year as my primary cooking surface. It operates as expected with few hiccups. Pros: Typical electric range stuff— induction is FAST, heat is even but centered on the direct point of contact, meaning it doesn’t distribute up the sides of pans very much. Pans need to be ferrous. Controls make sense, easy to use. Glass surface is very easy to keep clean. I think it looks pretty good. Cons: Heat control is in somewhat large increments, so no fine tuning. Overall limitation to the amount of heat that can be produced and maintained: you’ve got about 700 degrees to play with across the entire surface at any one time. So working on two high temp things at once is a no-go. It can overheat eventually, when boiling a large pot of water for example, at which point that side of the surface will shut off. Maybe my biggest gripe? No power switch!! I’m constantly plugging and unplugging this thing which is fairly annoying for a kitchen appliance Overall, this works well enough for what it needs to do, it’s a substantial improvement over a traditional hot plate and I’ve gotten a ton of good meals out of mine over a year of consistent use. ... show more

  • Most competitive price for 2 burners
Style: Double
The 5 stars is for the price point only. Based on features of other models, this is a 2 star if the selling price is ignored. I don't trust it a lot but I am building it into a counter to replace a gas stove. This brand is the largest top panel size of any 2 burner on Amazon. I bought the extended warranty, wise for this price point. Ignore the whiners about the flashing LEDs - sure it would be better to not have them flashing at all times but they are not that bright and you have to pay at least twice the price to get one without the flashing. The fans are the loudest I have ever heard for induction, this was avoidable because muffin fans are available with very low noise and high reliability for a few cents more. When built in, they will not be nearly as loud. The top panel trim overlap is quite small so an install has to have a precise opening with no margin for error. The "temperature control" is a gimmick, these just have power level outputs and there is no active control to maintain any temperature relative to pot temperature. The 3 lowest settings all use the same coil with a relay turning it on and off to vary the average output. OK as long as the relay used is heavy duty extended life quality. You don't have to think about the over current automatic setting of total power draw, it makes sure you can't exceed 1800 watts and in typical use that is no hindrance. Just time your cooking so you don't have to need full power from both burners at the same time. It can simmer two pots without hitting the maximum wattage level. Activate the locks to make cleaning less tedious because the button areas are very sensitive. Another joke about the design I dislike is the illusion that there are water boiling, fry, steam and warm settings. It makes you select one when in fact they all work exactly the same. This means activating a burner is always a 3 step process - on, then select, then set your desired power level if you don't want the medium output they call "300" which is in fact hot enough to burn food if you don't lower it as the pan warms. You get what you pay for. If you are picky spend $500 instead of $130 for this. The brand is obscure but it is sold through a fairly large website supplier with customer service. ... show more

  • Great Appliance
Style: Double
I have a unique kitchen setup in which I have no traditional box stove; I have my double induction cooktop and a convection oven. This induction cooktop is stylish, efficient, and heats up fast, whether boiling water or making stir fry. I like that it has a safety lock for each burner, a timer, and the smooth surface is easy to clean. My kitchen doesn't get crazy-hot when cooking, either. Just make sure to turn it upside down once a month to clean the fan area of any debris and you should be golden with this great appliance! I highly recommend; I've had mine now for 3 years. ... show more
